Pros, A nice historical hotel with affordable and reasonable price. The baloncy is very big and the city view is nice. Room is clean and big as well. Cons, The only minor thing is you may need to wait for 20-30mins for the free shuttle bus. Shuttle bus is only available til 11pm, or you need to take the taxi to go to Metro station.

Room is spacious. Abit awkward if u staying with families as their bathroom not able to lock. U will get awesome view if u manage to get high floor. Overall it's worth to stay. Recommended.

Booked this hotel for our last night in Taipei. It is strategically located across Ximending. It is a self-check in but there are staffs who will be assisting you. During our stay, there are bunch of teenagers who were very noisy, we can hear the noises from our room. Nevertheless, the hotel is good as well as with the breakfast buffet where there are a lot of food choices.

Staying with mom and grandmother, 60s and 80s. They enjoyed the sauna, and swimming pool, and were so satisfied with the breakfast. The location is a bit of the middle of nowhere but it didn't matter bc we called Uber all the time. They provide a shuttle bus but never used it. One suggestion for a triple room, it would be good to set up a table for tea or chat. Such a huge space but only a chair to seat. Also, I am wondering which brand is the shampoo and body wash in the room. It is so nice ;-) Staffs were all kind and smiled 😊 Thank you for caring.

Good location with direct access to Taipei Main Station via exit M6. Room is considered spacious in Taipei but the bathroom is a bit old. Generally is very clean and comfortable. Easier to find food nearby too. Staffs are very helpful and friendly.

Very nice and cozy environment to spend a weekend with friends from overseas, hotel greeting, check-in check-out service and room maintenance are all excellent. The Chinese Restaurant at the 2nd floor has lots of very delicious dishes with very good table service too. Thank you for your friendly service!

You cannot get any more convenient location than this hotel which is the central hub for all sorts of public transportation. There is no spa or swimming pool but everything else kinda makes up for it.

Good things first - Location is excellent if you need to be near Songshan airport. Room is large. ********* hotels no longer provide toothbrushes & toothpaste - this is apparently a government regulation. The provided toiletries e.g. soap are not great. however, there were good quality bedroom slippers were a v pleasant surprise. I checked in after 9pm on a Friday with a flight to catch in 10hrs' time. Staff were friendly at check-in. Noticed no water was provided in the rooms. A large notice was displayed informing us to contact them on their app for ALL services. The app showed there was no room service menu, so no worries, I thought I'd just buy cup noodles from the very well-stocked 7-11 located in the lobby, and boil some water. The kettle's plug was severely bent. The app did not understand 'kettle faulty' and kept telling me where it was. That's when I realised their app was just a useless robot! Tried ringing Housekeeping from the room phone but nobody picked up. Brought the kettle to Front desk to show them. Counter lady had 0 apologies, just an unfriendly expression and told me I should have just called them 🙄. Her more-professional colleague said they'd help me contact Housekeeping. Housekeeping brought along another faulty kettle 🤦🏻♀️ but he was at least apologetic. While waiting for him to bring a 3rd one, I called the Front Desk again intending to ask for free water since their amenities suck. Just my luck - grumpy lady picked up and - again - without apology, kept interrupting me to declare they DID have water but it was self service and that they DID inform guests with small print on their key card and a picture of water on the room door. What the...?! I told her she had a terrible attitude, at which she laughed and I hung up. I've stayed in hotels where water was self-service - BUT those hotels ensured guests were well notified at check-in and large signs were displayed in various languages in the rooms. In comparison - Illume failed miserably in this area, and their failure was further exacerbated by faulty equipment, poor service standards (lousy app + ill-manned housekeeping hotline) & the Front Desk staff's inhospitable attitude.

The hotel is near the MRT. However, there is no clear sign to walk to the hotel at night. However, it is pretty easy to walk to the station with sunlight. The hotel is spacious, breakfast is average.

Although the hotel is obviously a bit old, but is well maintained, especially how our room is kept cleaned daily, and necessities/toiletries are religiously replenished. The overall staff, especially those assigned in the reception area, are consistently helpful and courteous. The area, although near the busy commercials of Ximending, is peaceful. The breakfast buffet is beyond satisfactory, considering the variety of food selection. I would definitely go back if given the chance in the future, and would recommend the same to others.

Amazing experience in this hotel, location wise is great. Very close to mrt station (Ximen), or about 15 mins walk to Taipei Main Station. It is also walking distance to ximending area. So many shopping and food. The hotel was rustic with industrial architecture, room was good, and the water pressure was awesome. As for breakfast, yes they serve the same menu everyday, but what do you expect? When traveling, try the local food.

Pros: The room is clean and tidy. Can have the rooms clean daily and toiletries are replenished daily. We appreciate the free mini bar! Very good selection of breakfast Not too central, but there are nearby bus stops. Near Ningxia Market. A Starbucks Reserve shares a building with the hotel A Carrefour Market is just across, too. Cons It's a bit of a walk if you prefer taking the train.

Good service people are nice and it's really near at the train station and bus station so it's so convenient to stay there and recommended I just hope that it's a little cheaper during weekend like for me as solo traveler I pay more than 2000 Taiwan dollar for overnight stay while weekdays they have a price of less than 1000 Taiwan dollar

Convenient location, with Nike and other outlet shops, different types of food along the street. However, hotel is a little bit old and old style if you don’t mind, you can hear the air con, pipes or the sound of the next room at night, so if you are “lucky” to get one of these rooms, try to ask for another one. Be aware not to open the window, there’s mosquitoes to annoy you whole night. Remember to get mosquito repellent at the convenient store nearby. Breakfast include vegetarian selection with buffet style, eat all you want. **********************************************************

The room is nice... Has a small fridge.. the room is clean.. free mineral water, coffee and tea... Internet wifi is fast.. This hotel only has 1 iron.. and you need to put 500twd as deposit to borrow from the front desk... Eventually I have no chance,coz 1 customer has it and I am wondering why they don't know who borrows the iron if they put a deposit and they don't know the room. Close to the main station...only 300m by walk.

The room is clean. There is one thing I want to talk about. There is something wrong with the TV. Sometimes there is no signal, the TV will turn off automatically. Sometimes nothing is shown on the TV, but the sound is still on.

The room is of good size for two, was clean and equipped with modern furnishing and toilet fittings. Good 32-inch TV with Hollywood and Chinese movies in addition to local ********* channels. The room rates included chinese breakfast. I think the spread is quite wide and taste good. Only con is that it is rather far from shopping areas, Fengjia night market or the train or bus stations. There is local bus service 30 and 89 outside the hotel which comes twice an hour. Service 11 loop around Taichung city that comes once and hour. But due to local traffic conditions, the arrival time stated on Google or local bus app are not accurate.

The hotel is at a location quite close to calligraphy greenway and public transport is relatively convenient too. Hotel breakfast was ok though it was a little repetitive. One point to note is that the closest junction is strictly an overhead bridge so if you're arriving by public transport and also carrying luggage, you'll have to walk a littler further down the road to cross.

We had the deluxe double room for 3 nights, 8th floor. The place is clean and big. Comes with bathtub. The hot water supply is consistent. Great food options by foot and it's near fengjia night market. The hotel is located at a quiet street.

Repeat stay at this hotel, with reliable reputation, excellent location close to TaiChung train station, clean rooms and outstanding team of staff here :) One of my friends was quietly celebrating birthday during stay, but the team noticed the birthdate on passport during check-in and surprised the group with a cake and a personalised greeting card. This was attentive and expectational for the hotel team, in addition to the continued good reputation of City Inn Hotel (Taichung Station). Thank you and all the best!

Booked through Ctrip's new user discount, the VIP king room is priced at 3061 per night on weekdays. The hotel is located on Taiwan Avenue, which is a traffic artery in Taichung City. It is very convenient. It is about 10 minutes' drive from Fengjia Tourist Night Market. The room is decorated in a classic style. The bed is moderately soft and hard, and I find it comfortable and easy to sleep in. The swimming pool saunas are open, and reservations are required before using the saunas. The breakfast menu is rich, including Taichung's special fried noodles with Dongquan chili sauce. The freshly squeezed juice is delicious. My boyfriend who lives with me also likes the breakfast dishes. Evergreen Laurel Hotel Taichung is considered a five-star hotel with a high CP value in Taiwan. Although the building and equipment have a sense of age, they feel that they have been carefully maintained. I will visit again next time I come to Taichung!

Generally good hotel. Very good breakfast with choices of food. The only thing which was not good for us is the bathroom. We booked a quadruple room. The floor of the bathroom would be wet after taking the shower and hence the cloth for drying the feet had to place outside the bathroom which is very inconvenient for us.

Better than expected. Room had a nice design to it, and hotel has many ammenities including game room, etc. Only complain was that the room was a bit small, but again it was already value for money considering the price paid.

Room is big, breakfast is not bad, nearest metro is less than 10 mins walk away from hotel and quite easy to find. Staff are helpful and friendly. Behind the hotel has a huge supermart but we didn't have time to explore. Overall a really good stay. Will consider staying here again!

The place is very affordable, accessible and easy to find. The staffs are very friendly and approachable. I love the cozy vibes and the swimming pool at rooftop is lit🔥. Slay✨! There is a nearby tourist night market and the train station is just a few minutes walk away. I also love the vegetable salad and other food served at the hotel’s free breakfast. I would highly recommend this place and definitely wanna come back 😉

incredibly beautiful hotel, every corner is instagrammable as it is supposed to be! especially loved the inifinity pool, an absolute luxury to have a swim during the beautiful golden hour of sunset. having a drink at the pool side bar and at the tea salon are both very enjoyable. staff are very friendly and helpful. highly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits kaohsiung!

We stayed 3 days and were very satisfied with the service! Staff were very courteous as we came in and out of the facilities and when we arrived at our room they had left a little welcome snack pack as I’d mentioned that this trip is a bit of a celebration. The location of the hotel was also very convenient for our travels. The hotel itself is a little old but it’s maintained pretty well, I never felt unsafe or that the hotel itself was unclean, it’s just noticeably an older building. If I’m ever back in Kaohsiung I’d definitely book this hotel again

I enjoyed my stay tremendously and at awe of the level of service from all the staff of this hotel. From the bellhop to the concierge to the maid, everyone here is professional and courteous only the highest class hotels in the US can match. Here they are doing it without expectations of tips... I traveled solo and as a single guy and not expecting much. I am surprised at the service and comfort I got that are exceeding my expectations.

The best part of the hotel by far is the 9 heated pools with a creative array of very powerful water jets and bubbles. And steam and sauna rooms. (Also a pool and gym w free group classes but didn’t bother) a dream!! Soaked in the pools for 2h a day. The hotel is connected to a mall and a 10min walk to the red line mrt. Rooms are large and new. Hands down favorite part of my kaohsiung stay. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed staying at eda hotel for 3days and 2 nights.Very good for family, the kids are super enjoy. The room, complete amenities. The staff is approachable. Also the hotel is just 3min walk to the mall. Overall perfect for us. Planning that will be back .
