The room was quite spacious, but the overall feel was a bit dated. Because of its proximity to the sea, it also felt a little damp. There were quite a few water stains on the tables, cups, and bowls. Breakfast was relatively plentiful, slightly above average for the price point in Southeast Asia, but the overall taste was rather ordinary. The salad bar had a limited and not-so-fresh selection of fruits and vegetables. There was a noticeable abundance of heavily flavored, oily, and sugary dishes.
Our stay at Paya Bunga Hotel was great. Receptionist assisted us with early check in which helps us as we arrived from KL early.
Room was clean, with 2 swans greeting us inside ^^
The hotel provides quite nice breakfast buffet
Gym and pool too are clean and enjoyable
The hotel is attached to Paya Bunga Square so food and convenient store is easily accessible
I recently stayed at Hotel Tanjong Vista in Kuala Terengganu and had a mixed experience. While the location was excellent—close to eateries, laundry services, seaview room and KTCC Mall—the overall stay left much to be desired.
Unfortunately, the room had a strong smell of cigar smoke, which was quite unpleasant. The cleanliness of the room also needs improvement, as it didn’t meet the standards I expected.
As for the breakfast, it was very basic and not up to standard. There was limited variety and the quality could definitely be improved.
That said, the hotel’s strategic location is a major plus, especially for those looking to explore the city or run errands nearby.
”Glory in the Past”
Strategic location (5-7 minutes to Kampung Cina), the staffs are friendly, the aircond is cold enough, basement parking is free & view of Jambatan Angkat. Other than that, wasn't that good staying experience.
- Room smells moldy (carpet & moisture)
- The bed sheet wasn't clean
- Breakfast was just so so
Back in the day, this hotel might be awesome but now I prefer staying in boutique hotel to be fair, at least it's new & fresh
Spacious room, even a bit old but clean. All toiletries are provided. Hairdryer, iron and iron board, free parking, buggy service and we even got free breakfast. Hot water and water pressure is good, shower and bathtub are separated, TV is only local Chanel but wifi is available. Safe box and refrigerator are also available. We stayed in room 1603, air conditioning is great too especially hot weather.
Quiet and cosy place. You may relax outside at the big balcony. Room service for food is available till 11pm and price is reasonable.
Location is a bit away from city but is good to be away from hustle and bustle. Good sea view can see Drawbridge from far.
Did not go to swimming pool so can’t comment.
I had a pleasant stay at Primula. Everything was good, great location, comfortable room, and nice view. The only issue was the shower pipe, which seemed a bit faulty and made it a bit difficult to take a shower. Other than that, it was a satisfying stay overall.
Perfect for a private and privacy inclined person. Almost like soundproof with no unnecessary noise whatsoever, I felt as though I was in my own wonderland.
Located in an idyllic beach, everything looks like out of a dream. There is still plenty to do though in terms of quality of service, considering the price of the overall experience. I am not saying service is not good, don’t get me wrong, everyone was fantastic, but there are details you would expect to get from a hotel that charges more than 500€ per night for their cheapest room. I.e. room service dishes left out of the room for days, or not being briefed on the resort nor on our room apart from receiving a short explanation at the reception. Restaurant and experiences prices are quite high as well. But the overall environment is outstanding and just because of that I would probably come back!
This is our first time staying here and we had such a pleasant time with the great experience of the 5 star hotel.
The hotel is so beautiful and the room is so cozy. We can get around the hotel by the buggy service. We love the pools and the beaches, especially the romantic beach, it’s just so nice.
We had great food with beautiful views of the ocean and the mountains, the staff were amazing. Everything is so much better than we expected.
We’ll come back again next time with our friends and family.

WwanitarmidiThis resort is the best resort i ve stayed so far! From the staff that are well-trained and super attentive to the uniqueness of the building itself. All are just amazing. Breakfast was super delicious that every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. Highly recommended this resort for all of you.
AAinun QalbWe’ve truly enjoyed our stay at Peridot. The Long Beach Villa room is beautifully decorated. The view from the room is breathtaking & it's really nice to be waking up by the sound of sea waves. Love their L'Occitane toiletries as well.
However, as the hotel is still undergoing some renovations, there are not many amenities available around the hotel. Upon checking in, we were so hungry after a long drive from SG, but the restaurant was closed at 2pm. The only options we were offered were to go to the other hotels' restaurants along the beach. The à la carte menus provided did not have much variety either. To get halal food was quite a distance from Peridot. But no choice; after freshening up, we walked along the beach and just asked around if we could have our late lunch there. Breakfast varieties were limited. For the price we paid, it could have been better. I love their chicken nuggets, though!
At night, it can be quite quiet around the area, but it was not an issue for us, as we love the quiet vibes and enjoy our peaceful nights there. The WIFI connection was really bad. So we got to use our data most of the time.
Apart from the food issue, the rooms had power trips quite frequently on our 2nd & 3rd days of our stay there.
Overall it was a great experience for us. The room is clean, and basic amenities are fulfilled.
Please note they are still in their soft launch; expect to be fully operational by March 2026. I hope I can come back by then & the facilities will be fully functional and improved.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is excellent. It offers great value for money and has direct beach access. While the room itself was a bit dated, having the beach right there made me totally overlook it! 😂 The pool was clean, and breakfast was just okay. It's truly perfect for a relaxing escape to clear your mind. 👍👍 Overall, I highly recommend it.
MMuhammad Zariffuddin ZaiharinIt was a fantastic staycation—there was a large swimming pool divided into sections. I stayed in a room that did not face the sea, but it had a bathtub, which was a unique feature. My impression is that the hotel staff creates a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel could improve further by offering an affordable meal package since the restaurant is quite a distance away. Perhaps they could consider adding a convenience store inside the hotel. I hope that one day, Awana Kijal will regain its former glory!
MMyNameIsEzyStayed for 2 night. Sceptical at first after reading some of not that ”good” reviews. Upon check in, it was just ok. Nothing great. But things changes when night time. The outer of the resort that was all white turns to something I would recalled as beautiful. The surrounding lighting really makes the resort beautiful and captivating. Someone its and animal friendly resort. At night u can see rabbits roam around freely. Hope my pictures do justice. Recommended
