Overall, it's a very good hotel. The environment feels brand new since it just opened. I didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The infinity pool upstairs is decent, nothing spectacular, but the water temperature was great. The daily housekeeping was excellent, very clean! For food delivery, you have to go downstairs to pick it up yourself.
My flight was late, and when I asked the front desk, they kindly extended my check-out time until 2 PM for free, which was really helpful. Most of the staff can speak a little Chinese, so communication wasn't an issue.
Laundry costs money, though. I wish the washing machines were free to use.
The location is great for getting around by taxi – it's close and cheap to go anywhere. However, walking can be a bit tiring.

Very strategic location, easy to fins food. Clean & comfot room. Just that the room at 6th floor, direct to hall lobby.. not suitable my room given just infront of the public hall.

The room was quite spacious and the location was great, right in the city by the sea. There's a seafood market directly opposite. It's about a fifteen-minute walk to Gaya Street and very convenient to get to the pier. A taxi ride takes around ten minutes, and the airport is also quite close. The front desk was very responsive, and the breakfast was decent. I even caught a stunning sunset from the hotel rooftop!

We were lucky enough to get a room upgrade when checking in, offering a full ocean view. It was absolutely stunning and made me feel like we'd chosen the perfect hotel – a true beachside getaway is exactly what a vacation needs! The room itself was very spacious, and the bathroom was even bigger, cleaner, and brighter than it appeared in the online photos. We arrived late and caught the tail end of the sunset, and it only took a few minutes to walk down to the beach to see it. My friend and I aren't early risers, so we skipped Jesselton Point the next day and instead departed directly from the hotel's pier to Manukan Island. There were plenty of boat times available, and we took the 12:30 PM one. There's a dedicated boat for hotel guests, which also drops you back at the hotel – super convenient. If you want to visit The Magellan, the hotel also provides a shuttle bus. The Magellan is more family-friendly, but if you're looking for better value, The Pacific is definitely the way to go. However, I do have to mention that many of the hotel's facilities are quite old. The showerhead was leaking, and I hope they'll replace it soon.

The hotel's public areas are nice, but there's no beach. If you're looking for a beach, you might want to consider other hotels. The rooms were a bit humid overall, but apparently, all hotels in Kota Kinabalu are like that. The service was pretty standard, nothing special, just like any other hotel. A convenient feature is that there's a jetty right at the hotel, which is great if you're heading to Mantanani Island, as it's very close.

Stayed at Ming Garden Hotel, Kota Kinabalu and had a great experience! 🏨✨
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained — perfect for a relaxing stay. The bed was cozy and everything felt just right after a long day out. 👍

Service: Absolutely fantastic! They provide complimentary waterproof phone pouches, raincoats, eye masks, and other little essentials. Plus, there are free iced drinks and, best of all, free laundry service – perfect for a trip to Sabah! The laundry is super fast too, and the housekeeper is very responsive to guests' needs.
Facilities: Not great, actually. The space is small, and the apartment design has some issues. The shower stall has a tiny bathtub that's neither comfortable for a bath nor spacious enough for a shower. And the sink is a nightmare – water splashes everywhere the moment you wash your hands, so it feels like you're washing your hands and feet at the same time.
Environment: It's an apartment within the Imago mall. Plane noise is quite noticeable, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're a light sleeper. Since everyone takes taxis around here, convenience of transportation isn't really an issue. There's also a fish noodle restaurant in the mall that wasn't very good.
Cleanliness: Good. It was clean and tidy, with no visible stains.
It was great and convenient stay. The parking were quite hustled a bit (because the hotel were connected to the mall i guess), except if you added 50/15myr per day for the valet parking.
The room were better compared to those other legend hotels in Tawau; the floor carpet bit dirty and furniture quite oldies. The tv were working fine. The toilet were average; not to dirty but not too clean also. Toiletries were okay BUT they don’t provide toothbrush. Hm. Also we got the room that were strategically behind the aircond blower of the mall. The room soundproof quite decent; you can still hear people talking when they were at the hallways.
The mall behind got lot of shop; stalls, restaurant, saloon, cinema, massage parlour and at night, you can also enjoy a street food market 4 minutes by walking on the other side of the hotel.
So far we enjoyed the stay here. The staffs were varies; some were good; some maybe tired or just lazy, idk but checkin and out process were smooth.
We booked a renovated room, supposedly from 2 years ago, but when we arrived at 6 PM, they told us there were no rooms on the second floor, only on the first. They assured us it was the 'best room,' but as soon as we entered, there was a strong musty smell, and the hairdryer sounded like it was about to explode. After watching the sunset and having dinner, we returned to find the room getting hotter and hotter. We then realized the air conditioning was broken. It took three calls to finally get through to the front desk. The maintenance worker spent half an hour trying to fix it with no progress, and then told us we'd have to switch rooms. During all this, the room was incredibly stuffy and hot, almost unbearable. The front desk kept apologizing but only offered an extended checkout or a ride to the city the next day, and we had to decide on the spot what time we wanted to leave. This 'sorry' attitude was really disappointing and quite unbelievable.
The funniest part was that the room they moved us to was on the second floor – the very floor they said had no availability earlier. It was clean, no musty smell, and not hot at all. It makes you wonder who they were saving those rooms for, or if they were discriminating against us.
The hotel environment itself is beautiful and very photogenic, with lots of free and paid activities. Feeding the monitor lizards was fun. However, the front desk's attitude and their handling of issues were consistently poor. Exercise caution if you decide to stay here.
Also, we heard the hotel restaurants aren't great. We ate at the sunset bar, which was enough to fill us up, but you can't order takeout.

It's quite a large resort. It's not close to the city center, so we switched here after staying two nights downtown. It's very close to the airport. You could easily spend a whole day at the hotel; there's a pool, a beach, a gym, a card room, and even movies to watch. A nice touch is that they have different activities all day long, which both adults and kids can enjoy. They also gave us a complimentary teddy bear.
Very Good

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was suitable for a family and for those who prefer to relax. The view from our room was fascinating and breathtaking. Their food is super tasty. We only need 5 to 10 minutes to access food places and a trip package to Pasar Semporna. We will book this hotel again once we come back to Semporna.
The room was clean and tidy, and the Chinese housekeeper was very nice. The sea water was incredibly clear, and the service exceeded our expectations. It wasn't noisy at all, and it was perfect for taking photos! It truly exceeded our expectations and offered great value for money. We even saw sea turtles, and the facilities were comprehensive. (This is a genuine review, a genuine review)
The island itself is simply unreal. It takes you a whole day to stop saying ”oh my god” every time you turn your head. It looks like heaven. We stayed at the water villas and they were also incredible. All the staff members were incredibly kind and helpful. The manager is a great worker and puts a lot of effort in accommodating your needs. There are many activities available every day and there is good flexibility to allow you to do as much as possible every day. You can book dives, even to sipadan. Unfortunately, there is a lot of rubbish on the beach, as everywhere in the Semporna area. But, being this resort so exclusive and expensive, they should really put more effort in cleaning up the beach and snorkeling area, at least once a day. Another improvement area is the menu for vegetarians: the food itself is good, but quite monotonous for vegetarians. Lastly, there is a very nice beach bar area near the pier, which however is not in use and it looks like it hasn't been for a while. The resort at night is very quiet and dark, so putting that bar to use would improve greatly the atmosphere ay night and even during the day, to have a drink between swims and snorkeling sessions.
A decent 3-star hotel at a small town (the star is according to Google, but in the city, I think 3-star is pushing it). They use Coway for drinking water, provide clean towels (no toilet amenities but not an issue), supposedly they have wifi, but I wasn’t able to connect (not an issue since I can use my hotspot). Iron and iron board was provided in my room, they told me this is not available for all rooms - but you can always ask. They also provide 2 sachets of coffee which you can then take the hot water from Coway. However, the room I selected was in the corner, with sea view. The room is okay overall, but since I am a light sleeper the noise from the street actually bothered me a little bit. And also because my room is located at the corner near the exit, and maybe cleaning staff use the door quite often, I can hear the footsteps etc. But other than that, I do not have much complain for what I paid for. There’s also massage services if you want to kill some time, but I decided not to go in the end, so cannot comment for the service. Very friendly staff at the reception, especially the morning shift staff, Mary. Keep up the good job.
I had such a great time during my stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything I needed. I especially loved the cozy bed, the beautiful view, the breakfast, and the pool. The atmosphere was relaxing. Very kids friendly. Me and my family truly enjoyed every moment and will definitely be coming back soon!
