It's a brand new hotel. As one of the first guests, it's the first time I have an entire hotel to myself. The room is super large, surprisingly clean, and the Nanyang-style villaš is surrounded by banana trees, coconut treesš“, frangipanišø, and green lawns. No š¦, only the faint fragrance of plumeria.
šAbout distance
In the northwest corner of Bohol, an independent island šļøPangangan Island. It takes 2 hours to drive from Panglao. However, dear friends, the hotel is right opposite Cabilaoš¤æ, the famous diving spot in Bohol! Crab boat is a 10-minute sea ride! Friends who like diving can definitely stay at H resort and sail to Cabilaoš¤æ. The experience will be much better!
šµļøAbout Activity
What are you doing living so far away? In fact, it only takes 1 hour to drive to the Chocolate Hills from H Resort, which is about the same as the baby living in Panglao, so the inland tour of the Chocolate Hills ā°ļø Tarsier šµ Lobo River Fireflies šŖ² can be arranged.
Cambuhat Oyster Farm𦪠is about a 30-minute drive from the hotel. It is estimated that other hotels are far away, only H is relatively close.
The hotel's submarine and shooting facilities are currently not open for business, but they will probably be arranged soon!
šWhat can you do in the hotel?
Invincible sea view swimming poolš, you can see us in the swimming pool outside the glass wooden wall, perfect for checking in and taking pictures!
Arrange a sunset seaside spa! At the seaside pavilion, blowing the sea breeze, listening to the wavesš, watchingš , and doing SPAš, it's so comfortable! The massage after diving šāļø really made me feel tired.

Overall it was a great experience just a few disappointing things. We checked many places an fir this part of the province itās as good as it gets folks

Our family vacation at Solea Mactan was nothing short of spectacular. The resort boasts a wide array of fantastic amenities, including pristine beach, multiple swimming pools, and a well-equipped fitness center. The kids were entertained for hours at the aquapark and inflatable pool while the adults enjoyed viee and breakfast. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're searching for a memorable family getaway with exceptional amenities, Solea Mactan is the perfect choice!
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Essencia and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. My room was spotless and beautifully decorated, offering a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city, and I especially enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast spread each morning I love the puto with cacao chocolate. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Dumaguete and will definitely be back!ā
Very nice and secluded place. If you want a quiet and get away from city vibes, this place is highly recommended. Food is soso. Staff is super kind. Massages are nice, good price. View is amazing! Many swimming pools. Beach right infront. There is also a cave, if you like adventure and not scared of deep dark water, the guide will escort you down. Overall, I had one of the most amazing time there. My friend prefers city modern hotels so she liked it less than me. But, I absolutely enjoyed the remote feeling, felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, other people were there but it really wasn't busy. The staff is very accomodating and I really appreciated their kindness. I will miss Mithi. Will visit again if I go to Bohol again. Highly recommend for couples and families who want quiet get away. Because it is away from city, if you want food you have to get it from their restaurant, which is so so. Also, I loved that they had communal shower and bathroom near the pools which was convenient. You can also get beach towels from there too (as much as you would like)! And the buggie takes you everywhere for free anytime. The buggie comes to your door super fast! I haven't tried it, but you can also do Kayak and snorkeling there too. Cup noodles are recommended, you will want to pack as much as you can. I will miss Mithi! Had such a good time there!
Also, if you wanna do laps in the swimming pool, there is a bigger pool by the spa.
I wish i could give more stars for this hotel! They catered all our needs as requested. They went above and beyond with their services. Will come back again for sure
Wonderful resort right across from Apo island. I loved my time here and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The diving was superb and the restaurant at the resort had great food. It was really a place to rest, recharge, and truly enjoy nature.
The resort is very good overall. However there's a few niggles.
Check in took way too long. 2 people serving? When you have a long queue in the heat of the lobby this isn't a great first impression. The lobby on arrival was so busy. When I've checked into other hotels I've usually been impressed with the smoothness of check in. This wasn't a pleasant experience or environment especially if you're traveling with children.
We couldn't get a massage. We wanted to confirm the time the next day and they wouldn't give us this option.?
The lift? One lift in the main area? For a resort this big and expensive they should have more lifts
The stairs at the pool are stony. This will really hurt your feet when you're not expecting it
The breakfast is good for Filipinos however for Westerners like myself there should be more choice. Not just bread and egg.
The beach is small. You get hassled by people trying to sell you stuff. Protect your belongings. Doesn't feel safe, look out for algae in the water. Not pleasant to swim through.
The resort restaurants are very expensive.
The lobby isn't air conditioned? Why not make it a pleasure to be in the lobby and serve coffee to guests?
Not everyone wants ice tea.
We were told to pay 6000php on arrival which luckily we had but we didn't know about this deposit for incidentals ahead of time.
The positives are.
They gave us umbrellas when we walked outside for the shade.
The shower in our room was excellent.
The warm water in the pool. And swimming till late is lovely.
The staff are very good and attentive and professional. They served us with care and attention and nothing was too much trouble. I got looked after by the nurse at 10pm.
The Badian Resort is best for the secluded getaway or just a quiet rest. Ā You must get yourself by taxi or other vehicle to their pick-up pier where you be greeted by someone from their security team. Ā He will verify you are expected and call one of their speedy water taxis and in 5 minutes you will arrive on the island where you will be met by one of their friendly staff. Ā I was given a welcome flower to wear. Ā I was quickly checked in, then personally escorted to my cabana. Ā The room was very attractive, clean, safe, well laid out, quiet, roomy, and comfortable. Ā Note: Ā the room (my room) had neither teIevision nor phone - which was fine by me. Ā WiFi was great. Ā Cellular was zero. Ā Yes, this is secluded. Ā I arrived too late to use their pool, which closes at 5pm. Ā Had a great dinner there with a large selection to order from. Ā Breakfast was good, but not as good as dinner. Ā The Badianās grounds are fairly large. Ā There didnāt seem to be other businesses or places to go on this island, so the focus is the resort. Ā
I liked it very much and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking a laid back experience.
Friendly staff. Reasonable rates for a four-star hotel the best part of staying in that hotel was the 24 hour Cebu spa. Enjoyed the lounge downstairs that we could order and have drinks as well as listen to talented Filipinos; the pool bar and the coffee bar across the street were super. However, the buffet breakfast can be improved. Some of us do not eat pork and it appears there was just too many pork dishes. ļæ¼ For the remaining of our stay, we went across the street to the coffee house for breakfast. We had dinner at the steakhouse which had excellent service. However, the steak was thin and overpriced. I guess weāre so used to having USDA beef.

GGuest UserHenann Tawala is a good choice in terms of location, service and food. However, the beach-front pools have been made exclusive to Henann Alona guests. It's a shame, it would have been a nice, relaxing alternative to watch the sunset, and listen to the band while sipping piƱa colada, since beach-front daybeds get collected and packed up at 6p.m. so if you want sunsets and live music, make sure to find your spot early on the sand since a LOT of people are gonna be there, it is a public beach after all.
CCrisfgI had a generally good stay at Belmont Mactan. The room was clean and well-maintained, and both check-in and check-out were quick and efficient. However, there were a couple of downsides. The toilet stopped functioning during the last few hours of our stay, which was inconvenient. Also, the shuttle service to the beach didnāt follow the posted schedule, we were made to wait only to be told later that no shuttle was available. Despite these issues, the overall experience was still pleasant.
BBubbleChimpGood for experienced divers but not for new divers, solo travellers, relaxing beach time or a deluxe experience even though it was £200+ a night so I did not think it was good value.
For me it was just the wrong choice and I didn't do enough research. The main disappointment comes down to me basing my expectations on the price instead of the 3 star rating. I haven't paid that much for a hotel before and usually go for 4 or 5 star places so I just don't understand the pricing, maybe that's just how it is in the Philippines. The staff and service are good, breakfast and the room are ok, spa and diving are the good amenities so it might be the diving location which warrants the price.
Lunch and dinner are good. I recommend the honey yoghurt muesli with mango and the chicken salad (with a dressing) for breakfast. Everything I had on the lunch/dinner menu was great - the tom kha gai soup, Dorado, burger, curry etc all good. Small range of beers and cocktails available but cocktails were good too.
The room and bathroom are fine for 3 star standards. There is termite stuff falling from the wood beams and dead moths or similar insects on shelves which did not get cleaned away.
The Swedish massage was good, I recommend Gail. The shiatsu was painful and pinched my skin so she switched to Swedish. The pool is murky and not enticing to swim in, lots of mozzies around it too.
I much preferred the beach and water conditions further down at Dauin. I like to relax on a nice beach and swim etc. that's where the great snorkeling is too. But the water at Atlantis is too rough and windy and the beach too narrow.
Although the dive masters are great for leading dives and probably for the other diving skills, I wouldn't recommend getting your open water certificate here especially if you're at all nervous about it. There were some differences with the SSI videos like being able to practise boat entry in the pool first and using a snorkel that I would have preferred what with the condition of the water there. The beach, water and entry conditions are so much better 20-30min down the beach at Dauin, Bongo Bongo beach. I managed to earn my open water and it was the reason for this trip but it wasn't a pleasant experience and I watched the divers enter at Dauin quite jealously.
Considering you can do 4-5 dives a day here plus a day for Apo island, I think 3-4 days here would be perfect.
The hotel tour prices were a bit more expensive than others I found and they do not arrange joiner tours so as a solo traveller, their tours were prohibitively expensive. For some reason there were no joiner tours available outside the hotel either, I don't know if that's because of the season (jan-feb) or that's usual for the Philippines but it's the first time I've experienced that in my travels.
The tour to Apo Island is good and well arranged. The only thing is as a snorkeler you have to wait until after lunch to get to the shallow turtle area but it was great and a benefit of going with the hotel is you leave on their boat right from the hotel, no need to drive to the ferry.
LLee YaroStay was honestly good. Service was good. Like a proper 5 star hotel. There are pools on both levels 4 and 5. Staff was helpful and professional.
Spotted a roach in the bedroom but didn't see it anymore. So no issues.

TTable_for_3We just returned home from Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan. It was our first time in Cebu. It was a short but great trip.
The highlights:
Accommodations: We chose Crimson because we frequent high-rise hotels when traveling and decided this time we wanted a villa/bungalow type of room. No hallways and no elevators. Crimson checked those boxes. They also accommodated our requests for a king bed and first floor room.
Activities and amenities: Our daughter loved Crimzone and the childrenās pool. It was hard to get her to leave. The Saturday foam party was fun and the pool staff were engaging. My wife and I both availed the spa and wow, we can see why they won an award for Best Value in Asia. The price was affordable while the quality of service was top-notch.
Food: The buffet breakfast was good and had a lot of variety. My favorite item was the fruit and veggie smoothies. Who knew bakchoy and mango blend well together? But it was the attentive staff that really made breakfast a great experience. We tried the 24-hour room service and I swear the chicken club sandwich was one of the best Iāve had in my entire life 5/5!
The lowlights:
Here are some reasons why we are not giving Crimson an excellent review.
1. Overpriced/low quality food in Saffron during ala carte dinner. Our first night we arrived in the evening and were hungry. For two people (our daughter is a toddler) we paid over 5000php for an appetizer, 3 entrees, one beer and one bottle of water. Honestly, the price would be ok for this amount of food if the quality was better. I would suggest Aka or Enye for higher quality food although we didnāt try either. Saffron was empty that night and we found out why.
2. Distance to places/sites. Crimson is quite far for shopping or eating at other restaurants. We hired a private car for 3 hours and was only able to visit two sites and one pasalubong store. Luckily it was only moderate traffic on that Saturday. 2500php for a sedan for 3 hours was reasonable.
3. The gift shop is waaaay overpriced. 950php for a small tube of sunblock seemed very high even at a resort. We also wanted some souvenirs, but there wasnāt much variety at all.
4. Our room needed some TLC. The paint in the nice tub was chipping, the caulking in the showers could use a refresh and there was a huge ipis (roach) in the closet. Luckily we spent most of the time outside the room.
5. No floaties or life vests for toddlers to use, even for rental. Despite having almost everything else, this would have been a nice touch.
6. We came to Cebu for mangoes and lechon, but Crimson didnāt offer these items and again, because of distance, it would have been nice to have some at the hotel.
The bottom line:
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others, however we would give them our full review so they are aware of the pros and cons.
Thank you to the wonderful staff that made up for the minor issues we encountered!
JJIANWe stayed in a room on the 8th floor of the Palm building, The view is very spacious, and you can see planes taking off one after another from the distance. There is a drying rack on the balcony for hanging swimsuits, which is a very practical design.
The water park is very suitable for children, the rooftop bar is very relaxing, and the drinks are delicious. The Earth restaurant offers Chinese cuisine with large portions. In the photos, we ordered small portions. The staff at both restaurants are very enthusiastic.
However, the downside is that we had to wait a long time for the room, and we didnāt get the room card until nearly 3:30 p.m. After a long journey, this was a very frustrating process. Additionally, there was no hairdryer in the room, and it took three phone calls before one was finally delivered, which was also a negative experience.
GGuest UserGranada is a special place to stay.
The owners are on the grounds and personally assisting with the guests and things around the resort.
Food menus are set for every other day, which is unique. The food is delicious! A mix between local and foreign cuisine. Theyāre accommodating with minor changes to each meal if you request it. They also asked if we wanted our Mel served in our room, which is very cool also!
Adults only, so it is a quiet place. Pool is 24 hours. Check out time can be flexible if requested and the room isnāt booked for your check out day.
This is a great place for couples who want a quiet and relaxing place to stay.
Itās nearby Oslob, the place to see whale sharks.
If taking a bus from Cebu city, the trip is about 3.5-4 hours depending on traffic.
The beach is relaxing with very natural sand composition and the sand isnāt connected to the water, itās above it. Bring water shoes as the water is natural with coral. Great for snorkeling!
At night we found a giant hermit crab on the beach! First time to see one so big!
CCarl PaulThe hotel itself is great, and our family room was spacious and comfortable. The dining experience was excellent, with a well-balanced buffet breakfast and quick poolside service via a convenient QR code system.
However, the check-in process was a bit drawn-out. After I thought I had completed everything, I was called by phone back to pay a deposit. They mentioned they would contact me when the room was ready, but I never received a call. I ended up going back later on my own, and while the staff did apologize, it was still an inconvenience.
My only other gripe is the lack of valet parking, which I would expect at a hotel of this standard. Instead, guests have to walk roughly 250 meters each way to the car park, which can be uncomfortable in the heat.
Overall, a great stay with a few minor hiccups
