It is worshiped as "Fukujin" in the local community.
Originally, he is the god of battle, and he enshrines Bishamonten, a god of four heavenly kings, known as the god of fortune. The founder of the shrine was Hisatada, the real younger brother of Danmasa Matsunaga, a Sengoku warlord, who set up a mountain castle in this area and solicited Bishamonten on Mt. Shinki. It was said that Hoei Suzuki, the chief of the Chogo Sunshiji Temple, restored the current shrine. Since it is on a small hill, you need to go up the stone steps. The shrine is not that big, but it is worshiped locally as Mr. Fukujin.
