Dayang Bunting Island is located at the southern end of Langkawi Island. The island is shaped like a pregnant woman lying down, hence the name. The island is covered with forest and flourishing vegetation. Here, you can hike through the jungle. There is a beautiful freshwater lake on the island called Tasik Dayang Bunting (Lake of the Pregnant Maiden). The lake is quiet and cold, attracting many winter swimmers. According to legend, the lake has special powers. It can aid in inducing pregnancy after bathing in its waters. If you've got the courage to do so, head to Gua Langsir on the north side of Lake of the Pregnant Maiden, which is home to thousands of bats.
