I decided to escape the hustle and bustle of the city this weekend and drove 180 kilometers to Dihua Ancient Town in Shangluo, Shaanxi. I heard it's crowded when the lotus flowers are in bloom, but in this increasingly autumnal season, I experienced a rare tranquility and serenity. 🍁 The scale of the ancient town is truly impressive, with its well-arranged ancient buildings and winding cobblestone streets, each bearing the marks of time. 🏯 Although it lacks the vibrant blooms of summer, the ancient town in autumn has a unique charm—fallen leaves flutter in the air, and the faint fragrance of osmanthus blossoms fills the air, making you unconsciously slow down and enjoy this rare peace. Strolling through the alleys of the ancient town, I occasionally encountered a few leisurely villagers, chatting on their doorsteps or busy with their daily tasks. The Shaanxi History Museum is absolutely worth a special trip! The ticket for the Treasure Gallery included a guided tour, and I also visited the Basic Gallery, making for a very fulfilling experience. The Treasure Gallery's exhibits are of extremely high quality, ranging from Shang and Zhou bronzes to Tang Dynasty gold and silver artifacts—each piece is a national treasure. The He Zun bronze vessel, the gilded silver ewer with a dancing horse holding a cup, the gold-inlaid agate cup with an animal head… even through the glass, you can feel the exquisite craftsmanship and majesty that transcends a thousand years. The Tang Dynasty artifacts, in particular, are breathtakingly magnificent. The Basic Gallery is arranged chronologically, from the Lantian Man to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, systematically tracing the development of Shaanxi and even the entire Chinese civilization. After seeing it, I truly understood the significance of Shaanxi as the "Capital of Thirteen Dynasties." The guided tour was a huge bonus. The guide didn't just read from a textbook; instead, they brought out the historical stories and craftsmanship details behind the artifacts in a lively and engaging way. Many details that I would have missed on my own were highlighted, making the experience far exceed my expectations. It's recommended to make reservations in advance via their official WeChat account. Tickets for the Treasure Gallery are in high demand, so it's best to book early. If you can only visit two museums in Xi'an, the Shaanxi History Museum is a must-see!

The development and construction project of Fengguan Mountain Natural Scenic Area is one of the key tourism development projects in Danfeng. In 2003, the Planning Institute of Chang'an University was commissioned to conduct a comprehensive planning demonstration of the project. The total planned investment of the project is 30 million yuan. The main construction contents include: repairing gates and roads, repairing caves, painting and decorating, opening Huiyan Spring and Wuzhen Pool, adding poetry viewing pavilions, relocating Taoist relics Ziyang Palace, building Guanshan Academy, building eight planting areas such as grapes, apricots, peaches, and persimmons, setting up stele forests, mountain village amusement, etc. It is planned to integrate the beautiful and steep natural scenery of Fengguan Mountain with the unique Taoist grottoes and other historical and cultural landscapes. So many adorable kittens! Luggage storage was super convenient, and the route planning was very clear. It's definitely a must-visit place! The White Garden was also very well planned. It's a pity we didn't have time for the night tour; it's truly beautiful at night! I hope I can experience it again next time. A proper tour would take 4-5 hours.

Generally it was nice, the view and nature was stunning but it is too crowded which makes it less appealing. There were too many extras after you book, would have been better to have it all listed out from the start.

Yongning Gate is truly breathtaking; the city walls are remarkably well-preserved and magnificent. Walking along the walls with the breeze in your hand, you can feel the weight of history of this ancient city. The nighttime lighting is stunning, perfect for taking photos, and you can also watch a light show. It's easy to find, a pleasant place to stroll, and offers an immersive experience of Chang'an's ancient charm. Definitely worth a visit to Xi'an!

We arrived at Huaqing Palace in the afternoon. Instead of taking the cable car to the top, we went to see the Five-Room Hall and the site where Chiang Kai-shek was arrested. We decided to take the electric cart; it's too much for middle-aged and elderly people like us to climb. It was surprisingly high! We climbed for ten minutes to the Five-Room Hall, then climbed a little further to take the electric cart. Don't underestimate the five-minute cart ride; it's quite long. After the cart ride, it's another ten minutes of climbing. We were exhausted after reaching the Bingjian Pavilion! The pajama night run champion is truly amazing. Then we went down to the Imperial Concubine's Bathing Pool, but after wandering around, we discovered the foot bath! It cost 51 yuan per person, which was perfect for someone who had just walked so far – super comfortable! There was also a KFC at the entrance, so we could grab some fried chicken. We waited until it cleared out before queuing for security to go see the "Song of Everlasting Regret" – perfect!
怪阿姨小卖部Laojun Mountain Scenic Spot
I bought a 230 RMB Laojun Mountain package ticket, which was advertised to include a free beer, but the experience was significantly disappointing. The free gift had to be redeemed at a designated cultural and creative store, which was hard to find, the staff were unfriendly, and the redemption process was very cumbersome. I originally ordered the package because of the benefits, but the poor experience with the free gift made the overall value for money lower. I wouldn't recommend buying the package ticket just for the free gift.
