Standing before the reconstructed scene, the sacrificial rituals of 5,000 years ago seem to unfold right before your eyes. 4️⃣ Immersive theater + AR interaction—Technology brings history to life 🎬 The museum features an immersive theater and AR/VR interactive technology, using multimedia projection to enhance visitors' understanding of the Hongshan culture. Some attractions are closed on Mondays.

Chaoyang Travel Guide: I. What's Worth Seeing in Chaoyang (5 Core Points) · Chaoyang North Pagoda + North Pagoda Museum: A thirteen-tiered brick pagoda with closely spaced eaves, a "five-generation" ancient pagoda. Inside, you can see relics and a model of the Three Yan Dragon City. Entry is free with your ID card. · Murong Street + South Pagoda + Youshun Temple: An antique-style street with calligraphy by Jin Yong, next to the North Pagoda, easily visited along the way; Youshun Temple's red walls and golden tiles are photogenic, and the South Pagoda is just at the intersection. · Bird Fossil National Geological Park (No. 100 Longniao Street, Longcheng District): Chaoyang's "trump card"—Sinosauropteryx, Liaoning Archaeopteryx, "the place where the first bird took flight." Allocate 3 hours; a must-do for families with children to experience the fossils. · Niuheliang Hongshan Culture Site (Jianping/Lingyuan direction, about 1 hour+ drive from the city center): Goddess Temple, stone mounds, and the site where the jade pig-dragon was unearthed; a strong sense of the dawn of Chinese civilization. Advance booking is required; it's far, and taking public transportation is not recommended. · Phoenix Mountain + Daling River: Climb Phoenix Mountain to the top for panoramic city views, and walk along the glass walkway to check the weather; stroll along the Daling River trail in the evening to see the pagoda's reflection and the musical fountain – a free and enjoyable experience. If time is tight, these four routes are a must: Beita Museum → Murong Street → Bird Fossil Park → Daling River Night View. II. Itinerary Planning (Most Convenient Route) One-Day Quick Trip (High-Speed Rail Round Trip) · Morning: Arrive at Chaoyang Station → Beita Museum → Beita → Murong Street → Youshun Temple → Nanta · Lunch: Lamb Soup + Oven-Baked Flatbread · Afternoon: Bird Fossil National Geological Park (3 hours) · Evening: Stroll along the Daling River → Return Trip Two-Day Highlights (Highly Recommended) Day 1: City Cultural Route · Chaoyang Museum (Establish knowledge of the Three Yan Dragon City, free guided tours available) → Beita Museum → Beita → Murong Street → Youshun Temple → Nanta · Evening: Enjoy the night view of the Daling River, eat Lingyuan Lamb Soup/Nanyuan Braised Pig Face/Barbecue Day 2: Prehistoric + Mountain and Water Route · Option A (Nature Lovers): Half-day at Bird Fossil Park → Half-day at Phoenix Mountain (Climb to the top for sunset viewing) · Option B (for those interested in history and culture): Charter a car to Niuheliang (half a day to most of the day) → Return to the city to buy local specialties and leave. Three-day leisurely tour · Day 3 Add-on: Beipiao Daheishan / Kazuo direction (hot springs + donkey meat sandwiches + aged vinegar), suitable for those driving. III. Things to Eat, Don't Order the Wrong Ones · Lingyuan Lamb Soup + Oven-baked Flatbread: Perfect for breakfast or lunch. The soup is milky white, and you can soak the flatbread in it. · Kazuo Bowl Dumplings: Made with buckwheat, topped with sesame paste, garlic, and vinegar sauce. Served cold, it cuts through the richness. · Nanyuan Braised Pig's Face: A Liaoning intangible cultural heritage, served with pancakes/flatbread. Share among multiple people. · Lingyuan Tofu Pudding: Savory and braised, served with fried dough sticks. · Chaoyang Stewed Intestines, Gecha (a type of fried dough), Hu Bing (a type of flatbread), and Grilled Skewers: Find crowded shops at the Dalinghe Night Market or Wenhua Road area in the evening. · Souvenirs: Chaoyang Jujubes, Kazuo Aged Vinegar, Chaoyang Millet, Cypress Roasted Chicken (best eaten fresh). IV. Where to Stay for Minimal Walking · Shuangta District (North Tower/Murong Street/South Tower area): This area is within walking distance of the old town and convenient for late-night snacks. - Around Chaoyang Station: Many chain stores, low prices, suitable for catching an early train the next day, but exploring the old town requires a 10-minute taxi ride. · Don't believe the "river view" sales pitch: Chaoyang doesn't have a river; seeing the Daling River is already considered good, don't pay extra for empty promises. V. Transportation and Avoiding Pitfalls (Very Important) · Make sure you buy a ticket for Liaoning Chaoyang Station, not "Chaoyang South Station" or other provincial Chaoyang Buildings. · Taxis within the city are inexpensive to the starting price, buses can be booked but are infrequent; Niuheliang and Daheishan require driving/chartering/renting a car, don't trust the unlicensed taxis outside the station. · Museums are often closed on Mondays, Beita Museum has a midday break, check the opening hours before you go. · There are no shuttle buses for the second half of Phoenix Mountain, wear non-slip sports shoes, not sneakers; don't try to climb at midday, go in the morning or evening. · Additional experiences at the Bird Fossil Park (MR, fossil digging, 4D). - The temperature difference between day and night is large in October, so bring a jacket and a lining; a sun hat and a water bottle are essential for visiting Niuheliang and Fenghuangshan.

The painted pottery jars exhibited in the museum are replicas based on ancient production techniques and decorative methods. They not only recreate the superb skills of ancient artisans but also showcase the unique charm of ancient Chinese craftsmanship. The painted pottery jars on display in the museum are shown during the day, while at night they are featured in specific exhibition halls. These exhibition halls are uniquely designed with soft lighting, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the history and cultural significance of these painted pottery jars.
The ruins park is very large, and you need to take a scenic bus to visit the four exhibition halls. The exhibitions and ruins tell and show the glory of the ancient civilization. The exquisite jade, altars, temples and tombs from 5,000 years ago have a profound impact on later generations. There are currently scheduled buses from Jianping Station to the city, but there are not many buses. It costs 30 yuan to take a taxi from the city. The transportation is indeed not very convenient, and there are not many tourists. You need to ask and confirm locally during non-holidays and off-seasons. Personally, I think: Friends who like ancient monuments and history, it is worth visiting this ruins and museum.
M18***01A large number of jade articles were unearthed at the Niuheliang Hongshan Culture Site. The Niuheliang people believed that jade could communicate with the gods. In the vast stone mounds here, the changes in the specifications of jade articles buried with the dead are mainly reflected in the custom of "burying only with jade".
妮娜北京Can I skip the electric shuttle bus at Niuheliang Archaeological Site Park? The Niuheliang National Archaeological Site Park has three main attractions: the Site 1 (Goddess Temple) Protection and Exhibition Hall, the Site 2 (Stone Mounds and Altar) Protection and Exhibition Hall, and the Niuheliang Site Museum. The normal route is to drive into the park through the main gate, park in the parking lot (10 yuan per car, unlimited time), then take the electric shuttle bus to the museum, then to Site 2, and finally to the Goddess Temple. After the museum visit, take the shuttle bus back to the parking lot and drive away. The shuttle bus costs 20 yuan for one loop. All online guides recommend buying the shuttle bus ticket because walking is too far. Indeed, walking the entire loop is about six kilometers, and considering the walking within the museum, it's a lot of exercise for a day, which might be too strenuous for the average tourist. However, there's a small design flaw in Niuheliang Archaeological Site Park: its attractions are not concentrated in one area but are instead traversed by National Highway G101. We all know that national highways cannot be closed arbitrarily, which provides us with convenience. My method is to purchase tickets online and then be directed to the Second Site Protection Exhibition Hall for entry. Note that there is no public parking at the Second Site, but you can park on the roadside (as shown in the first picture) and walk into the park. The ticket checkpoint is only 200 meters from the exhibition hall. Don't worry, although it's a national highway, as a small county under Chaoyang's jurisdiction, there aren't many passing vehicles or traffic police, so safety isn't an issue. After the visit, return to your parking spot. There's a small slope across the road; walk up to the Goddess Temple. This walk takes about ten minutes. After visiting the Goddess Temple, navigate to the Niuheliang Site Museum, park in the park's parking lot, and walk to the museum. Avoid taking the electric shuttle bus route. There's a small path to the left of the visitor center; cross the garden and go up. The whole journey takes about seven or eight minutes. Of course, you can also walk backwards, visiting the museum first and then driving to the Second Site for parking and sightseeing; both are perfectly acceptable. If you're traveling alone, taking an electric scooter is definitely worthwhile. It only costs twenty yuan, and if you have the whole family, you can save that money and have a nice meal in Chaoyang. Sharing this with friends who might need it.
桃子妖妖妖A great experience! I'll definitely go up to Simendong next time. Beautiful scenery and a very easy hiking route. Jianping has beautiful scenery. Afterwards, you can also visit the Xiaopingfang Scenic Area.
邵雲天The Yan Great Wall of the Warring States Period is the earliest Great Wall ruins. There is no complete wall, but rows of broken rocks and low stone piles.
浅末回首The museum houses cultural relics and treasures that have been preserved from the local ancient culture.
美梦成真123!!great views and we had a lovely time on the great wall, a must visit
jenny.y1Suitable for family walks, outings, and leisurely strolls. It was a bit hot during August, the summer peak season; the evenings were cool, but the days were still very sunny and hot. The scenery was beautiful, but it was very crowded, as it's a famous tourist attraction.
_We***75This grassland is highly recommended. We visited in autumn, and although it wasn't as golden, it's still worth a second visit. The grassland in spring is much greener, stretching as far as the eye can see like an oasis. While the birch forests are beautiful from afar, up close they're covered in horse manure—black and polluting, making the grassland smell and the experience unpleasant for tourists, completely masking the earthy aroma. We suggest that the horse owners pick up the manure to give tourists a better impression. Overall, it's a very beautiful environment and worth visiting. Be prepared for the cold; it gets just as cold, or even colder, at night.
M43***87If we're talking about the most famous attraction in Changli County, Qinhuangdao, Hebei Province, it has to be the Aranya Community. Originally a real estate development project intended as a community, it has now transformed into a popular tourist destination. This is because the unique atmosphere created by the cultural heritage and neighborly relations within the Aranya Community makes both residents and visitors feel comfortable. Due to the success of the Aranya project, it's now undoubtedly Changli's must-visit spot for social media check-ins, and it's definitely worth a visit.
老少皆宜()The standard currency in Jianping is CNY
Current exchange rate approx.: GBP ≈8.9CNY (actual exchange rates depend on the bank). Currency exchange tips:
1. Exchange currency at your local bank before departure, as rates are usually better than at the destination.
2. You can also withdraw cash from local ATMs.
3. Avoid exchanging currency at airports or hotels, as they offer the worst rates.
