When I travel, I don’t just look for a place to sleep.

That was exactly what happened when I arrived at Kluney Manor in Ooty.
The moment I drove through the entrance, it felt like I had stepped into another era. Surrounded by towering trees, rolling green lawns, and heritage buildings, the entire property carried a timeless charm. It wasn’t the kind of hotel that tries to impress with luxury. Instead, it quietly wins you over with its history, peaceful atmosphere, and old-world character. The heritage estate dates back to the colonial period and still preserves much of its Victorian architecture, making every corner feel like a page from history. What I loved most wasn’t the room itself.
It was waking up to crisp mountain air, hearing birds instead of traffic, and walking through the gardens while the morning mist slowly lifted over the Nilgiri hills.
