XXxxyjj: Great location and nice staffs. We stayed here for 3 nights. It's easy to get to the hotel if you take wightlink to Ryde, just about 10mins walk. 5mins to bus stations and many restaurants around the hotel.

GGuest User: Stayed for 3 days, we were in a room across from the hotel, the room had a kitchen and seating area, a bedroom, and a very spacious bathroom which we weren't expecting. The room was cleaned every day.. The hotel itself had a lovely sunny garden. The staff are really friendly and very accomodating. Location is great right in the middle of town but up a steep hill. Beach is a 15 min walk, bus and train station is 5 to 10 min walk. There is a sainsbury a couple of doors down if needed. Only negative is. In our building there is no lift, I am not sure if there is one in the main building. Its a steep walk back up from the beach if you are not spritly this could be a problem. We had no problem. Shopping, there are a few supermarkets and Boutiques which I love, a Peacocks and a Poundland, plus other holiday shops. Getting around, is easy, you have the train that goes to Lake, Sandown, Brading and Shanklin. The bus station where you will find buses that take you all over the island less than a 10 min walk away.

Osborne House in East Cowes, on the Isle of Wight, is a must-see local attraction for anyone interested in royal history, culture, and architecture. Owned now by English Heritage, this stately home was once Queen Victoria's summer retreat, where she could escape the stress of royal life and enjoy the countryside, beautiful sea views, and time with family. 💐 What to see The house itself is definitely worth exploring. Inside, the rooms are well-presented with original furniture and artwork, with ornate decor. There are also some smaller museum-like sections, where you can read about the history of the property and royal family. During special occasions such as the Christmas festive season, they add traditional decorations and ornaments. Outside the main house, you can also explore the gardens. These are kept relatively simple, with seasonal flowers and a beautiful fountain courtyard. Most of the grounds are left as grass and woodland, with beautiful views down to the sea. Here, there is a small private beach area with a great cafe. Finally, don't forget to also pop into the cottage. This was used by the queen's children, and now has a great museum dedicated to them. You can see traditional toys and crafts, as well as admire their personal collections. 🚍 Transport Osborne House can easily be reached by foot or a short bus journey from the East Cowes Red Funnel ferry terminal. 🍛 Food & Drink On site, there are a selection of small cafes serving lunch food, coffee, cakes, etc. The prices are quite reasonable, with a discount for English Heritage members. Alternatively, bring your own packed lunch to eat on the beach! 🗺 Elsewhere nearby Continue exploring the Isle of Wight by visiting the nearby Quarr Abbey, Cowes seafront, Ryde beach, Cairisbrooke Castle, and more - all just a short bus journey or walk away. #thingstodo #travel #isleofwight #englishheritage #statelyhome #OsborneHouse

Travelled to the Isle of Wight for a nice summer’s day trip. We took the Wightlink ferry from Portsmouth Harbour to Ryde Pier. Explored around the island on the buses and visited many beaches such as Ryde beach. You can also visit Shanklin and Compton beaches on the island line train service. The needles was a great attraction with a chairlift showing some great views! #isleofwight #Summer #mountainview
It is worth visiting. You can experience the British maritime civilization. There are many venues, among which the remains of the Mary Rose ship are very shocking.
Meimei NiLoved Osborne House. The rooms are beautiful but you can also visit the kitchens and reception rooms. The traditional gardens are beautiful and the lawns are lovely to walk along to the private beach and other buildings. There is a shuttle mini bus to the beach and Swiss Cottage as it is quite a long walk to the beach. There is a small museum next door to Swiss Cottage which is full of historical artefacts collected or donated from all over the world - it is amazing. The house has a very rich history and I loved the room with the family tree. As Queen Victoria had 9 children, most of them were sent to different countries in Europe by marriage and their children and grandchildren became kings and queens of places that still had monarchies or had become republics. Very interesting
M32***23Well worth visiting Portsmouth. It may not be known for its tinu beach, but it compensates with its centre. Spinakker tower (I recommend booking an afternoon tea up there) and a boat trip (you can see a restored 19th century ship up close and many army ships). This is one of the UK naval army training bases, all included in the guided boat trip.
