You shouldn’t left out Togetsukyo Bridge on your list when visiting Arashiyama, for it is a center attention of Arashiyama. Having Hozu River at its western side and Katsura River at its eastern side, the bridge gives a serenity atmosphere, while Mount Arashiyama as one of its backdrops makes a magnificent view. The pathway would be very crowd in autumn and spring, when the nature gives its best to everyone who appreciates its beauties. Moreover, many scenic tours are taking place here and the bridge itself gives a picturesque sight, another reason why it becomes one of Arashiyama landmark.

The beauty of this place is not the bridge itself but the surroundings. We had some very beautiful pictures of our trip taken here. And it's really just on the way to Arashiyama bamboo grove.
I am always excited to see water gushing through and flowing under a bridge. Perhaps the most iconic bridge in all of Kyoto and perhaps the entire country of Japan.
The Togetsu-kyo Bridge has been a landmark in Western Kyoto's Arashiyama District for over four hundred years. The wooden bridge spans the Katsura River in front of Arashiyama Mountain. There area has lots of little shops and restaurants and is close to the Tenryuji temple and the bamboo grove.
Known as the "Moon Crossing" Bridge, this bridge is right in the centre of Arashiyama and is home to some beautiful views in the Spring when there are cherry blossoms surrounding the area, and again in the Autumn with the change in leaves. The famous landmark of the area, runs across the river, it was originally built in the Heian Period (794-1185) and was last renovated in the 1930s. Steeped in history, you can see why it is the most iconic part of Arashiyama.
