Jesmine ChuaWe absolutely loved our stay at Shanyuyishe Boutique B&B in Dali Ancient City.
The location was perfect for us — tucked away in a peaceful corner near Dali Ancient City, yet only a short walk to the shops, cafés, and attractions.
What truly made the stay special was the hospitality. The owner was incredibly warm and welcoming, helping us with our luggage, preparing breakfast every morning, and always making sure we were comfortable. The breakfast was simple but delicious, especially the rice noodles, which we looked forward to each morning.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We especially loved the beautiful courtyard and the overall peaceful atmosphere.
A couple of things to note for families and travellers with larger luggage. The beautiful courtyard has a koi pond running through parts of it, which adds to the charm, but I was constantly keeping an eye on my kids as I was worried they might accidentally fall in. Thankfully, nothing happened, but it’s something parents with young children may want to be aware of.
Another consideration is luggage. Vehicles can stop near the property, but you’ll still need to carry your luggage across parts of the courtyard. If you’re staying on Levels 2 or 3, there is no lift, so luggage has to be carried up manually. The owner was kind enough to help us, but it’s still worth considering if you’re travelling with multiple large suitcases.
For our family room, one small downside was that although the room was very spacious, there was only one air-conditioner serving the entire unit. The smaller bedroom felt a little stuffy and warm at night. That said, the owner was very responsive and quickly provided us with a fan the next day, which made a huge difference and solved the issue for us.
Overall, the warmth of the host, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, and peaceful setting far outweighed these minor inconveniences. We’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cosy and authentic stay in Dali. ❤️🏔️✨

Located in a residential complex, the front desk staff came out to collect our luggage as soon as we parked. We checked in quickly and were taken to our room.
The balcony was a nice touch, but beware of mosquitoes.
The room was quite comfortable, with a sofa.
However, because it's so close to Dianchi Lake, you can hear the sounds from the late-night snack stalls. If you need extra quiet, be careful not to stay near the road.
But it's certainly close to Dianchi Lake.
As for breakfast, it was beautiful, and it was a lovely experience to eat in the garden.
Also, takeout is convenient and the food is delicious.

My mom and I came to Lijiang, and I booked this hotel on a whim the day before we left. I never expected it would lead to such a wonderful experience! This was my first time visiting Yunnan, and I fell in love with the place, largely thanks to staying at such a comfortable hotel. The location is quite easy to find, right on the square in Yuhu Village, so you don't have to walk a lot on cobblestone paths, and it's also very convenient for catching a taxi.
**Environment:** Waking up every day and opening the curtains to see the snow-capped mountains was truly healing. You can enjoy the snow mountain view from the guest rooms, the courtyard, and the restaurant. The hotel has been open for a while, but the facilities are well-maintained. The only minor issue was that the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work, and a slight drawback was that some of the essential oil bottles for the aromatherapy activity were empty. I hope they can be refilled promptly.
**Service:** The front desk staff were very welcoming. When we couldn't find a certain photo spot, they shared their location and came to guide us. I participated in the evening tea ceremony around the fireplace for three consecutive nights. It wasn't crowded, but the atmosphere was great, with warm roasted milk, local specialty rice sausages, and Erkuai (rice cakes), plus some snacks to munch on. Chatting by the fire with the front desk lady and the local Naxi ethnic minority male staff member was delightful; all the staff had really pleasant personalities, which made it very enjoyable.
Personally, I think staying here is much quieter and more pleasant than staying in the ancient town. I highly recommend it to friends who prefer a slower pace of travel and don't like crowds! I hope to come back for a second visit during mushroom picking season or the Torch Festival!

The most satisfying two nights in Yunnan, I am more used to staying in hotels, but Fengli B&B is indeed the right choice!
Location: The taxi positioning is accurate. Behind the official hotel, there is a very quiet homestay area, and takeaways can be delivered.
Environment: clean, warm, emotional, willing to work hard in the details, sincerity is the boss's hospitality, every time I meet, I will greet you warmly ~
Facilities: The twin room has a large space, the bedding is super comfortable, the pillows kill most hotels in seconds, the central air-conditioning + wall-mounted air-conditioning, and the toiletries are dreamed back to college time in one second. Weight scales, sewing boxes, nail clippers, floss, masks, earplugs, etc. are available! There are two washing machines and one dryer in the common area, which can be used by self-service.
Service: Drinking water, soda, snacks, fruit are all provided free of charge. Breakfast is served in the small restaurant with sour seeds and sugar. There are freshly cooked bait silk and rice noodles. The coffee is delicious! Please ask the boss to arrange a car drop-off in advance, and received a warm souvenir on the day of departure.~
Because the itinerary is tight, we basically leave early and return late, and we have not been able to experience the slow life of the homestay, but it does not affect my determination to strongly recommend Fengli!

My time here was truly life-changing. The hotel was truly exceptional. We arrived from Dali with high expectations and they were certainly met. The rooms were spacious, the location wasn't too crowded so we felt like we had a lot of space to ourselves. But most importantly, our host, Sun, was truly an incredible soul. She was there for us on every moment and we could always send her a wechat message for anything we needed. She ended up really taking care of us in more ways than one. I would definitely recommend this place when you're staying in Lijiang. It's very hard to beat.

someoneFayUnbeknownst to me, this has become my most tranquil home in Lijiang. Counting it up, for 7 consecutive years, I've stayed here at least twice a year. It's long ceased to be just a place to stay; it's truly become my home in this city.
What I admire most is the meticulous attention to detail that has stood the test of time. After a full 7 years of staying here, the various equipment and facilities in the rooms show absolutely no signs of aging or wear and tear. Especially the thoughtful amenities in the bathroom, they still maintain the same quality and comfort as the first time I saw them. This level of dedicated maintenance is truly rare and commendable.
Every time I push open the courtyard gate, that familiar scent of white flowers immediately envelops me, gently embracing me. And standing on the terrace, gazing out at the distant Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, seeing that eternal and magnificent scenery, brings a profound sense of peace and security.
Of course, what keeps me coming back most is the attentive care from Anna and Lao Ai. Over the years, our relationship has long transcended that of landlord and guest; they are as kind and warm as family. I genuinely love it here, and whenever I come to Lijiang, I will only choose to return to this little courtyard that feels like my own.

I was too busy a few days ago and didn't have time to give a good review. I originally booked the one next to them, but when I arrived I found this store. I casually looked at the lobby at the door and decisively chose this one. Fortunately, I was not disappointed. Their hygiene is very clean, and the supplies they provide are of high quality. Even the paper is heart-to-heart. Generally, only star-rated hotels will control these details. It is really good and cost-effective. I will stay in this store often in the future

Anonymous Userwhat a lovely stay. hosts were super friendly, flexible, and even invited me to a home cooked dinner. boss gave me a free upgrade out of kindness. views from the third floor room are stunning, better than anything from the old town or west shore. cleanliness is top notch and the room has everything you need. highly recommended for anybody looking for somewhere to rewind for a few days (or weeks…). 希望老板不介意我留个满分的评价😚

An absolutely wonderful stay! First off, the facilities: the room design is very tasteful, the bedding is comfortable, and the attention to detail is impressive. The window offers a stunning view – misty mountains in the morning and a starry night sky with the moon. Just the view alone is incredibly therapeutic. What's truly exceptional is the ambiance; it really allows you to unwind. The guesthouse owner is very hospitable, providing pick-up and drop-off services, helping with luggage, and recommending great places to eat and visit. Sitting down with the owner for tea and a chat was incredibly refreshing. This stay exceeded all my expectations; it was truly worth the trip.

As someone who frequently books guesthouses for family, this experience truly deserves full marks! The owner's service was incredibly thoughtful; they not only upgraded our room but also patiently explained the must-see local attractions and helped with our luggage throughout the trip. The room was fully equipped; the underfloor heating was cozy in winter, the humidifier was very comfortable, there was a bathtub for a relaxing soak, and everything was provided: a Bluetooth speaker, a projector TV, and a mini-fridge with complimentary drinks and snacks. They even prepared afternoon tea and a beautifully crafted coffee cup. The bar in the common area had a fantastic atmosphere, perfect for taking photos, and the room itself was bright and sunny—it was incredibly relaxing to bask in the sun!
