Wangshi Yizhuang

The founder of "Wang's Yizhuang", Wang Shizhong, with the word Chunting and the name Langyuan, was from Changzhou (now Suzhou) in the Qing Dynasty. His father, Wang Wenchen, became rich by operating Yimeibu. Wang Shizhong likes to read and collect books. He once built the "Yiyun Bookstore" on Shantang Street, which is a well-known library at home and abroad. From his use of the seal of "Shangshu Lang of the Ministry of the People" and the preface and postscript of his book collection, it can be inferred that Wang Shizhong once served as the "Shi Lang of the Ministry of Home Affairs", and he was a businessman and famous in southern Yunnan and northern Mo. Wang's Yizhuang is now full of residents, enjoying the peaceful life of "an old house and a new residence". This Yizhuang is a controlled and protected building left in Suzhou. Wang's Yizhuang is of great value because it is one of the earliest physical witnesses to the history of charities in China. People should cherish it and leave precious wealth to future generations.
