Daienji Temple

It is about five minutes'walk from Muhei Station to Daransi Temple. At first, it was considered to be an ordinary temple. However, it was surprised at the number of Tibetan Buddha statues and saw a lot of carp in the yard. Every June 11, there are sacrificial activities, and Daransi is good for money.

This is a temple that looks very classical, Zen is very strong, the air scenery is OK.

大円寺江戸の三大大火の一つ『行人坂火事』の火元となった寺です。行人坂火事は明和9年(1772)、盗みの発覚を恐れたためか、大圓寺の下級僧・納所（なっしょ）坊主が寺に放火したこのに始まり、折からの強風に煽られ、遠く上野、浅草、谷中、北千住にまで及び、江戸の町を焼き尽くす大火事となり、死者・行方不明者は最大で2万人にも達した大惨事でした。火元となった大圓寺は江戸幕府から再建の許可を得られず、江戸時代後期の1848年（嘉永元年）になって薩摩藩主島津斉興の帰依を得て、その菩提寺としてようやく再建することができました。…ちなみに「納所坊主」とは、寺の会計や庶務などを行う僧侶のことです。
