#January Destinations 2026 Pintian Mountain, at 3,524 meters above sea level, is one of Taiwan's "Ten Most Majestic Mountains" and the foremost of the "Four Beautiful Peaks of Wuling Mountain." Located in Shei-Pa National Park, it is a famous high mountain on the northern ridge of the Xueshan Mountain Range, renowned for its massive folded rock formations and the precipitous "Pintian Cliff," offering panoramic views overlooking the Sheng Ridge and the Daba Peaks. The summit is near the Xinda Mountain Lodge, and is typically booked as a 2-day, 1-night trip with Chi Youshan, making it a challenging mountain. Geographical Features: Its unique shape, composed of folded hard sandstone, is a testament to mountain-building movements. To its north lies the source of the Tamsui River, the Takjin River. The panoramic views are excellent; on clear days, Turtle Island, Daba Peak, and the entire Sheng Ridge can be seen. During winter, when the road is icy, conditions become extremely treacherous; caution is advised.
