Hotel Arthur
4.4/5188 Reviews
We had a good stay at Hotel Arthur. The location was pretty convenient for us - it was a 5 minute walk from Helsinki's Central Station for platforms going to/from the airport, tram service was nearby and it was within a 15-20 minute walk of everything we wanted to see in Helsinki. We booked this hotel because it was inexpensive for our stay and it was pretty pleasant. The breakfast was included with our stay and was welcome as well. We booked a twin room with two twin beds. The beds were comfy and we found extra pillows in the closet. We had a really good sleep each night at the hotel because it was very quiet. The room had a couple of chairs including a pretty big cushioned one, a desk and a TV that was mounted high. The room could be a little better with the cleaning of the tv remote and kettle but the beds and bathroom were fine. The hotel is over 100 years old and we felt the hotel showed its age the most in the room because there are some renovations that have been done over the years and it is pretty evident . Our room only had plug-ins at the desk and there was none near the night stand by the beds. The closets were in need of some maintenance because the door tracks were a bit stiff, the floor was peeling and the drywall in the back was loose. The shower used to have sliding doors as evident by the track that wasn't removed but the shower had a curtain that was too short and the floor squeegee was there for a reason because the water went everywhere when I showered. Shower pressure was fine and it was easy to get plenty of hot water. You may want to consider bringing your own bath products because the shower gel was meant for hand soap, body wash and shampoo. The hotel has saunas that you can book upon request. If you book your hotel reservation directly through the hotel you can get a discounted rate of 8 euros per person for the sauna but if you book through another website it is 10 euros per person. There is a nicer sauna that is shown in the pictures of the hotel but it fills up pretty quickly. We got the other sauna and it was ok but was in need of some cleaning because previous guests left their wet towels all over the place instead of in the towel bin located under a bench. We felt it was silly to charge a different rate if you booked through another platform because we wouldn't have heard of this hotel if we didn't use the platform we used! The breakfast was pretty standard and I had a nice English breakfast each day from the buffet. The mushrooms, sausage and hash browns were my favourite but I grew to enjoy the scrambled eggs during my stay because they add something to it that I'm not used to. They also had yoghurt, cereals, cold cut meats, fruit and cheese amongst other standard breakfast staples. They had a juice dispenser, a small selection of tea and black coffee. They also had items that you could pay for at the bar like a cappuccino or chocolate chip muffin. The reception area was pretty good. They had luggage storage and quite a few chairs to sit in. My wife liked their small souvenir shop and got some cute post cards. The staff are very helpful and can provide recommendations for the city. The reception also provide tea and sugar for your room and you can pick up your rations daily. They do not provide regular cleaning for the rooms but you can arrange cleaning or new towels through reception. There are plenty of sights to see nearby as well as cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. The tram is a short walk away and that was very convenient for us as we did a day trip to Tallinn using the ferries to go across the sea. We booked this hotel because it was affordable in a pretty expensive city and we would still recommend it if the pieces are fair. It was a good place to sleep and unwind after each day we spent exploring the area.
Scandic Helsinki Hub

Strategically located and within walking distance to Helsinki Central Station for 30 minutes ride to Helsinki Vantaa Airport. Walking to Old Market Hall, Senate Square, Helsinki Catheral and Uspenskin Katedraali. Late checkout until 4pm possible by paying 20 Euro extension fees. Highly recommended to stay for easy access to town area, shopping, grocery, restaurants and supermarkets. Daily Western breakfast buffet provided is adequate.
Scandic Helsinki Aviapolis

The rooms are average, much worse than five-star hotels in China, and the price-performance ratio is not high. It is next to Vantaa Airport in Finland. The hotel has a free bus to and from the airport, so it is more convenient to fly.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Valo Hotel in Helsinki, and it was an exceptional experience! The modern design and warm atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that all my needs were met. The amenities, including the gym and wellness area, were top-notch, providing a perfect way to unwind after a busy day of exploring the city. The location is also fantastic, making it easy to access local attractions. I highly recommend Valo Hotel Helsinki for anyone looking for a comfortable and stylish stay in the heart of the city! Five stars all the way!

I wish I could give 6 stars. 5 for the hotel which was the nicest in all of Helsinki. Central location in a beautiful building retrofitted for the hotel. Of course squeaky clean and modern tech galore. I see thoughtful small touches like fade-in/out lights, quality bedding, sound proofed windows etc at every corner. The extra star for working with me on an error I made during booking process without any fuss. Staff at front desk was very welcoming and professional as well. I really don’t have anything to even nit pick… I guess the standard room was not large by any standards but had high ceilings so it doesn’t feel cramped. And that’s it, can’t recommend more and believe the near 5 star rating by everyone.
Eurohostel

I arrived before check-in and the front desk staff was kind enough to see if any rooms were ready and I even got an upgrade, which included a tv in the room so I could watch the 2024 Euro Cup! The walls were thin and my neighbor was a prolific snorer. As a solo traveler, it’s nice to have a fridge and fridge I can keep my food in when I don’t want to eat out a restaurant alone! The shower water was surprisingly hot and stayed consistent despite the motion activated sensors. The location is quiet and convenient if you’re a prolific walker like myself! (24,000 steps a day) The hostel also has a restaurant attached for a quick breakfast or dinner.

Our second check-in in the same week as we came back from Rovaniemi. Spacious in the main bedroom area (open 2 large 30inch luggage and still have ample of space to walk) but toilet is very small. All it takes is a 10min shower to flood your entire toilet due to the poor drainage design. You hardly can bathe with ease in the shower area due to the size and structure of pillars. Wouldn’t recommend to pay extra for this room as the proportion of the room is not design well. Our previous stay in the slightly cheaper room was better than this.
CheapSleep Hostel Helsinki

The hostel is easy to find after you get the bus 600 from outside the airport, which costs 4.10 euros. 30mins journey from airport to hotel via bus. The hostel itself is clean and has friendly female staff who were super nice and provided snacks etc during the football matches each day. You get a free to use locker in the room using the same keycard for entry etc. There is also a 24hour supermarket downstairs, and a nice kebab shop across the street. Overall, decent place to stay if you want to explore Helsinki. The Asian looking male member of staff at reception was disgusting, didn’t wash his hands after going toilet which I saw! Laughed when I told him to wash his hands, reported him to trip and to the hostel too. Really off putting, but other than that, no issues. Breakfast was simple but filling, and the hostel provides free water at reception.
Clarion Hotel Mestari

The hotel is located very close to the central station with many restaurants and cafes in the surroundings. The facilities are very new and clean. However the rooms are not quite like the pictures, the standard double room we booked is so small that we can only open one luggage at a time and we ended upgrading to another room type. It's not a big difference in terms of money but we feel scammed and the perception isn't great. Another thing when we tried to use the sauna their staff told us we needed to pay for it and book a session in advance (at least two hours in advance I believe), which no one mentioned before not even when we check-in nor printed anywhere in the hotel. Overall the hardware is og high quality and I'm quite happy with it, however, the software in terms of service and communication has plenty of room to grow.
Comfort Hotel Xpress Helsinki Airport Terminal
4.1/5118 Reviews
The location of this hotel is unbeatable. Just turn left out from the door of the restricted area. Walk along the passageway until you reach the lift and staircas leading down to the basement. The few minutes walk is all indoor, so you don't even need to hand carrying the water jacket with you. The first stop of the hotel is a self check-in iPad station. Yet, the actual check-in counter is in the bar next to it; which they called it a Barception. The room is tiny. It might be difficult for 2 persons to share their twins room. The bathroom is tiny, too. It might again be difficult for an adult man to take a shower in that diamond shape shower room (because one of the corners was cut to free up space). Only all in one shower and hair washing liquid is available.
