Best point is the friendly reception manager always available to help. Location is good, near train station and avenue Bourguiba. Medina main gate is 15/20 minutes walk. However at night the area is not that nice as there is nothing to do, badly-rated restaurants, and quite dark.
The bad part is that the hotel is very noisy as the doors and walls are very thin so I could hear everything from the corridor and other rooms. The elevator makes a very loud bell noise every time it opens and it is so annoying. The cleaning staff woke me up at 8:30am to ask me when they can clean the room. ATTENTION: loud mosque nearby will wake you up at 4am every night with call to prayer. Breakfast not that good.
The hotel is located in the city center. The rooms are small and the facilities are outdated. The price is good. The security is very good. I don't know why, but on the day we checked in, the whole street was full of heavily armed police. It is very convenient to eat downstairs, but the food is a bit unpalatable. The ice cream shop nearby is worth a try.
Genuinely was a lovely place to stay, clean and hotel staff very hospitable, surrounded by beach and 15-20 mins away from sidi bu saïd. I booked the breakfast included and it is a feast and a half - I tend to be a picky eater but there is plenty of options fresh, and cooked well ( I’m a hypochondriac- and tend to be paranoid with food) but the place put me at ease and I actually ate well . Would visit again but would keep in mind to public transport if you wish to travel further into Tunis central - as trains are limited and buses and taxis can add up. But all in all it was stunning location and can’t fault the staff :) first time visitor to Tunisia and hope to visit again.
The hotel is very modern and stylish. However, some rooms are more spacious than others. The breakfast service was nice, however the restaurant gets very busy at night and service can be extremely slow. Hotel staff are extremely kind and helpful, however the hotel doesn't cater very well for visitors with special needs like the disabled or elderly with limited mobility. For example there are no porters or staff to help with luggage.
The following are real pictures and videos taken by me when I checked into the hotel that day. I checked into room 109 that day. Hotel location: Tunisia has inconvenient transportation. Hotel facilities: Take a look at the pictures for yourself, they were taken on the day of check-in. See pictures of bedding and linens. No disposable slippers provided. Room facilities: There is a hairdryer. Hotel decoration: see pictures for yourself. Bathroom: There is a bathtub. Breakfast: It is self-service to look at the pictures by yourself. It's the off-season, so there aren't many people, so there isn't much variety. Hotel service staff: I personally feel that they are very service-minded and quite careless during their stay. The hotel pictures match the actual room pictures.
I had the worst hotel experience in my entire life imagine staying in a hotel in a costal city without an ac and they refused to cancel my booking because I paid in advance
Hygiene: Very clean, it's rare to come across such a clean IBIS. I don't wear slippers and my bare feet won't get dirty.
Environment: Convenient transportation, about ten minutes to the airport
Facilities: Compared with other hotels in Tunisia, the facilities are relatively new.
Service: The service attitude is very good, everyone is very enthusiastic.
There are not enough hot dishes for breakfast, but the rest is good and it's ok to stay.
This hotel is everything it promises. Great service, great facilities, wonderful food and bar and safe town centre location. The locality gives one access to virtually everything one needs in terms of shops, services and amenities. You need a haircut or shave - 2 minutes walk; you need a mall - 2 minutes walk; a hammam - back of the hotel; you want to eat out - just step out - got the drift? I would stay here again any day. Oh, and the showers had great flow.
Gulf Royal Hotel offered a smooth and pleasant experience. The location is perfect for exploring Tunis. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A great option for a short stay with good value for money. Would stay again

Very Good
施施Breakfast is average, suitable for bringing children, the hotel’s location is particularly good, parking is possible, the hotel’s view and atmosphere are particularly good, very exquisite, the door opens to the Atlantic Ocean, the view is particularly beautiful, it is incredible why breakfast is not given to guests in the restaurant
GGuest UserBe careful when paying! Some receptionists aren't familiar with their own accounting. Even though the room rate was paid weeks in advance, they still charge you the same rate upon checkout! Be sure to bring proof of payment. I had lengthy arguments about this. Very annoying...
高高The hotel is set at 3 stars at best, but safety is the first priority. Breakfast is average. The environment and food in Islamic countries cannot be complimented. It only costs 20 dinars from Tunisia airport to this hotel, but the airport rental is too bad and charges 50 dinars You, especially the hotel’s parking taxi drivers, must take pictures and keep them in order to avoid complaints when they are cheated. I have issued a taxi license number for a liar. Don’t take this liar’s car.
RRabebI have been going to this hotel for 2 years. The staff is not only very pleasant, but to listen to its customers. The cleanness is impeccable. We feel very safe and this remains well because the airport is next door.
YYesim SertI had a frustrating experience at the hotel. The staff at the reception pretended to speak English, but when I asked a question I got vague answers. For example, when I asked for tea, they said ”Someone will bring it to your room”, but it never came. There was no phone in my room and the air conditioning didn't work. The first room they gave me didn't have a TV and there was a problem with the tap. They gave me a room with a sea view, but it was too far from the entrance and I still had problems with the air conditioning and the phone. All these problems were only resolved the day before I checked out.
Also, my charger didn't fit into the socket and when I asked about it, I got the same vague answer with no follow up. I even left my phone at the reception to charge, but it never did, which was incredibly frustrating.
As for breakfast, you have to go to a restaurant or balcony area where a lady with an angry expression on her face takes care of you, but you are forced to eat whatever she brings to your table, there is no choice. Overall, my experience at this hotel was quite disappointing and not at all what I expected.
GGuest UserBefore coming to Tunisia, I didn’t do any research or rent a car. I only booked a room for two days out of a four-day trip. I decided to go there first. As a result, when I checked into the hotel, I met the hotel customer service manager who could speak Chinese, a Tunisian guy named Julian. Julian was very hospitable and used his two-day vacation to drive us around and taste all kinds of Tunisian food. Julian made our trip to Tunisia very successful. The trip without any research turned out to be the most surprising adventure. When you go to Tunisia, stay at the Movenpick Hotel Gammarth and find the customer service manager Julian. He will help you with everything.
FFouadSedkiHello
First of all, the room assigned doesn't include my reservation, and the service (reception and catering) is poor. First and last visit.
Thank you.
GGuest UserIt was a great choice, I was landing at night, so I decided to stay a night at a hotel close by the airport. My sister and her kids checked in earlier and they had a blast. Great service and an amazing diverse and delicious breakfast we enjoyed the next morning together. I have to say, there was only one bit of detail worth mentioning, the frond desk lady helped me call the cab, but she did not mention using Bolt, which is a more expansive taxi service and forgot to mention that she also obviously chose the Comfort option which cost me more at least a 60% extra charge than the normal price. which was displayed on the meter when we arrived but the cab driver asked for more money than that.
Overall, we had a nice short stay and enjoyed a late checkout to chill and recover from my trip.
Thanks to Novotel Team for the delicious food variety.
GGuest UserThis hotel is located in the center of Tunisia and is an old hotel. As soon as I entered the hotel, I saw the big boss of the hotel supervising the work at the front desk. The boss also walked back and forth and helped with the management of the hotel. This was very impressive. The boss is polite and warm. I booked a suite this time and it was very clean and comfortable. The most unique thing is that there is a stool in the bathtub. This is specially arranged for the elderly or travelers with limited mobility. This is very thoughtful and deserves praise. It was very peaceful to sleep at night. The suite has a balcony with city views. The room includes meals, and the food is local specialties and delicious. I will stay at this hotel next time I go to Tunisia.
