As my friends and I were travelling by train from different areas of the UK the hotel was an easy meeting place.. We all found our rooms very clean and,spacious..The staff
were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. Nothing was rushed and all in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay
I recently stayed at the Palace Hotel & Spa in Buxton and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was excellent, with friendly, professional, and attentive staff who made me feel welcome throughout my stay. Every member of the team was helpful and eager to ensure that everything was perfect.
The hotel facilities were impressive. The spa and leisure areas were clean, relaxing, and well maintained, providing the perfect place to unwind. The hotel itself is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and a pleasant atmosphere that made my stay even more enjoyable.
The food was also outstanding. Breakfast offered a great variety of options, all fresh and delicious, and the meals served throughout my stay were of a high standard. The restaurant staff were attentive, and the dining experience was excellent.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would highly recommend the Palace Hotel & Spa to anyone visiting Buxton. The combination of exceptional service, excellent facilities, and delicious food made for a memorable and enjoyable visit. I look forward to returning in the future.
Not too bad, apart from the construction going on in the hallways on our floor and longer walks to the lift and exit stairs, breakfast is reasonable, nice lady Honey, the breakfast staff nice staff, reception staff is good, room is good. Nice view.
We chose Wildes Inn as it is conveniently located just 4 minutes from Bolsover Hospital, where our mother was due to have full knee surgery. We wanted her to be well rested and comfortable, and the Inn truly delivered.
The staff were very friendly, and we were greeted straight away by a young, polite gentleman who made check-in smooth and stress-free. The lobby smelled wonderful and had a spa-like, relaxing atmosphere. The team were also very thoughtful, knowing the reason for our stay, they even offered to arrange takeaway breakfast for us.
We booked an accessible room for our mother, which was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was great too. Overall, we were very satisfied with the entire experience.
Our mother was well rested and ready for her surgery. If we pass through again, I would love to try the spa treatments, they certainly look very appealing.
Lovely hotel. Clean, tidy, comfortable. Staff were excellent, one & all.
Conveniently located with a short walk to the station, the shopping centre, a football ground and other such exciting places as 10 pin bowling, cinemas, axe throwing (highly recommended) and crazy golf for adults only!
As a Londoner, I don’t know what I expected of Derby but I’m very glad I made the trip. I have nothing negative to say about the Stewart Hotel, the people of Derby and the fantastic Derby as a whole.
Well worth a visit.
Three of us booked one room together. Upon arrival, we were told that we could not stay unless we paid an additional £165 to upgrade the room. However, even after the upgrade, the room was still quite small, and in my opinion, the overall value did not justify the price.
Regarding check-out, we left at 12:20 instead of 11:00. We were only informed of the £30 late check-out fee when we arrived at the front desk, not in advance. I accept the charge, as we did check out late. However, what confused me was that since the hotel decided to apply a late check-out fee, this implies that the late check-out was accepted. In that case, cancelling our room key authorisation before we actually checked out was inconsistent and resulted in the three of us being locked in the corridor.
Many people recommend this hotel, and we may consider staying again in the future. Next time, however, I will make sure everything is handled strictly according to the rules. On a positive note, the hot spring and sauna facilities are very good.
We stayed for 1 night for a special occasion. On arrival we were told that the spa was closed for an event which was very disappointing as I booked this hotel because of the spa & had planned to use the pool & sauna. This should gave been communicated at the time of booking. The building and grounds were impressive but on arrival our featured superior room was freezing cold. The reception turned on the heating at our request but this should have been done hours before our arrival given that it was 8 degrees outside. We sat for an hour in the room with our coats on before asking for a portable heater due to the radiators being only lukewarm. The room never really got warm & when we came back from dinner at 9.15 the heating had been turned off again & we had to ask for it to be turned on again. The food in the restaurant was very good & the servers were lovely but unorganised. We planned to have a drink in the hotel bar but it was so cold that it was empty and not comfortable to stay. I heard kore than one staff member complain about the cold in the hotel. What could have been a very pleasant stay was spoiled by the cold. Unfortunately, we will not return.
The Hotel is set in a very picturesque location in the Derbyshire Peak District. The room was very clean and comfortable, but basic. The only negative point I would like to mention was that there was no hot water for the duration of my stay, but I would not hold this against the hotel, as it was an unforeseen issue. I would recommend this place for a short stay relaxing break. The local area has some extremely friendly pubs and restaurants, along with some beautiful walks.
Comfortable hotel at the back of a friendly pub. Perfect if you need to stay in Derby and want to stay somewhere with a bit of atmosphere

DDr.BalramBest Western Plus Buxton Hotel
Stayed here for one night during my Peak District trip. The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Buxton and close to the Pavilion Gardens, bus stops, and walking routes. The room was clean, comfortable, and warm — perfect after a long day of hiking. Staff were polite and helpful, and the overall experience was smooth and hassle-free. A solid choice if you’re exploring Buxton and the Peak District using public transport.

GGuest UserAn excellent short stay in this B&B situated above a tea room in the village of Bonsall.
Check-in is a small window of 2 hours between 2 and 4 pm but it does state that you can organise late check-in if you are stuck. Best to avoid the area around the Heights of Abraham when traveling in at the weekend as it gets very busy.
We were there just to check out the area for walking and it suited our needs perfectly. The owner greeted us and made sure we settled in and as a bonus, the tea room was still open to allow us to sample their delicious cakes before unpacking. We went to the Kings Head pub for dinner which is a 3-minute walk up the hill and I must say it was a good choice. Another place with great hospitality with a mix of locals and visitors but more importantly good honest grub.
Breakfast was probably one of the best we have ever had at a B&B it was plentiful and there was no compromise on quality, perfect to fuel us for another day on the hills.
Thank you for hosting us and giving us good value for money in an excellent location to explore the Peak District National Park.

GGuest UserFrom the outside, the hotel makes a charming first impression with its elegant façade, ornate balconies, and a warmly lit lobby that exudes a sense of old-world charm. The check-in process is smooth, and the staff are courteous and eager to help.
The room was clean and spacious, the décor is a bit dated but it adds a character to the place and I like it. The only small issue was, there’s no window only a door to the balcony which is locked and we cannot access it making the room stuffy.
Also, it was difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep due to a noise of exhaust fan in the bathroom throughout the night.
The bed was comfortable and having an iron was a bonus.
Will I stay again? Definitely.
GGuest UserAmazing Hotel. Love it. We will back there for sure!! Parking at extra COST £8 PER DAY. I'm used to free parking for customers. But when you have a Ryanair ticket and have to pay for a seat even though you can't stand, I'm no longer surprised by what money can do. 🫣 But as a Hotel 10/10 😀 Breakfest 10/10 👍
