I booked this room on a whim a couple of hours before checking in as a last minute getaway and for the price I wasn’t expecting luxury. On arrival the staff were great. Very friendly and on first glance at seeing what the evening had planned we were already talking about our second trip with our young children. Once we entered the room that decision quickly changed. As I said I was not expecting luxury however basic cleanliness I did expect. The room was not clean at all. The bedside table was filthy. Thick with dirt and dust behind the lamp. Sticky drink patches and someone else’s hair. This almost made me sick. The carpet had most definitely not been hoovered there was bits of chocolate - food sticking out from under the bed - the steps up to the bunk beds were dirty. I didn’t even pull the quilt back in case I discovered anything else so I slept on top of it with my coat. As it was 8pm when we eventually came to the room I was tired and wanted to rest and didn’t want the mither of going over to reception to complain as I can’t see what they could do to solve it other than send a cleaner to clean what I already had. On check out this morning we walked to the car with our bags to go back into reception to hand the key in and a member of staff was shouting us across the car park asking was we room 24, I replied yes, she said we need you to move your car we have a private event coming in. She said il take the door key back for you, she never asked how the stay was etc. I just had to laugh really. Unfortunately we most definitely will not be returning My reason for logging this feedback is to ensure it doesn’t happen to another family. If I had my children with me we would most definitely have left to find somewhere else to stay. This was a last minute break for us, however if this was a pre booked trip as a family it would have been very disappointing.

Lone parent, 3 boys, 12 9 9. Last minute decision for a break over Easter. Stayed in the promenade rooms. Overwhelmed with the experience, room was immaculate and the entertainment included bingo, film, toasting marshmallows. Magik Ash sat with us for 20 minutes performing mind blowing magic. Just an incredible break, can't thank everyone enough

Absolutely lovely place. Check in was quick and easy. We stayed in a wizard suite and I must say the room was breathtaking. From the comfy beds to the detail in the decor. My son was amazed by it all. The best thing by far in the room though was the stunning view from the window. We could have easily stayed there for many more nights. The entertainment on the evening was lovely and the small campfire and toasting marshmallows was a lovely treat. They gave the children a glass of milk and some cookies on the evening which was a lovely touch aswell. All in all would definitely stay here again and again ( we have already booked another stay haha) would gibe more than 5 stars if possible lol

I got a deal on wowcher and was sure what to expect but it was wonderful. The park itself is brilliant for younger children. We had a pirate room which looked amazing and the triple bunks were so cute. The place was so clean and had everything we needed we walked just across the road to the reception where we went for an evening meal which was reasonable prices and the food was nice. Just the drinks were very pricey. The staff were brilliant. The evening entertainment for the kids was so much fun and an unexpected addition. We played bingo the kids had a dance and a play outside on the play area. At 9pm they did toasting marshmallows outside of our room on a fire but all the kids were too tired for this. Would definitely go again.

Blood on the bedsheet, safety light in the room on all night! Awful, we paid £148 for one night and on reporting the issues with the room to reception we were offered a complimentary coffee!! Unfortunately a coffee doesn’t come close to compensating us for a poor sleep on bloody bedsheets!!! Had we have not paid in advance I certainly wouldn’t have paid in full! Disgraceful.

Went with my 1 yr old granddaughter. Rooms were cosy and clean. Staff at check in were wonderful. Special thanks to Kieran who helped us with steps and pushchair, bags and stuff! Walking up the hill was a bit of a challenge!

I’ve given a 5 out of 5 for the excellent value for money this hotel is.£80 odd for a night for 2 adults and 2 children in Matlock…amazing. We stayed in a wizard themed room, the attention to detail was brilliant,my keen Harry Potter fan children loved it.The views of Matlock from the room were absolutely superb.the room itself was compact but had everything you need.the kids looked their hide away bunk room, with their own t.v. The bedding and towels were beautifully clean,as was 90% of the room, just odd bits that seemed to have been missed off the cleaning rota, which seemed a shame as it let it down a bit.there were lots of dust on top of appliances and bits of the previous guests belongings left in places. The evening entertainment was good but the space was small and tables very limited. Breakfast was also limited, when we arrived for breakfast at 9.30 there were no seats to sit down, only 2 bacon sandwiches left,so it was a case of grab what you can. All in all the stay and play package is excellent value for money and you can complain at it,we will just be better prepared next time, bring our own drinks and breakfast.

We have just come back from a lovely weekend at gullivers. The park had rides that suited all 3 of our children 5, 8, and 10 and no very small queues, if any. The hotel itself was amazing and excellent value. The staff were so friendly and they really engaged with the children. It felt like everyone had a love of the park/hotel and their job, which really showed and was refreshing in comparison to other parks. We stayed in a wizard room and had the best view. The room was very clean with good facilities. We decided to order pizza delivery on the night, and there were plates in the room for us to use. Entertainment on the evening was an added bonus, small and intimate, which suited our family perfectly. We will be back next year!
