West Lake Scenic Area
Pros: - Very convenient location, a couple of minutes walk to the West Lake. - The lobby is spotless, check in/out is smooth. - We went with a driver/tour guide (Zhu Feng) associated with the hotel who was very helpful, drove us around the lake for most of a day in pouring rain. - Bellman is very helpful with loading luggage (he needs to work out more though :). - Breakfast is good, but not great. Cons - The room is a little outdated, needs some maintenance work. - The AC is the worst. The one in our room was blasting air all day long, but can barely keep the temperate at 25 C (77 F). - The gym is pretty crappy. Looks like it's been rented out for external use, and it's not very clean or well maintained. Overall got a good bone but needs some management shakeup and remodeling.

Xiuhu Plaza and Downtown
A very nice and spacious room with a comfortable bed and a great open view of the park and the mountains. The rooms have modern controls for the lights as well as motorized curtains, which made for convenience both when going to sleep and waking up in the morning. It was also nice that a phone charging cable with the three different adapters was provided. The bathroom is spacious and has a large sink and shower. It is nice that the shower has a choice of rainfall or regular nozzle. The shower controls were also very modern and you merely pushed the button for your preferred shower method. It seemed that the guest before me was unaware of this and had broken the temperature control and not reported it to the hotel. The front desk was quick to send a repair person who was very thorough in fixing the control. While the shower had good water pressure, it seemed at peak times that there was not enough hot water as the shower temperature was just slightly warm. To get a hot shower, I had to wait until late in the afternoon or late at night. The checkin was fast and the attendant was kind enough to honour my request for a non-smoking room on a high floor. The lobby is spacious with a nice tea area. It is also convenient to have a Starbucks inside the hotel. However, it was a bit noisy as other guests were not always mindful of the calibre of hotel they were in, which ranks in the 5 star category. It was difficult to try to get some work done with people playing videos loudly on their phones, talking on speaker phone or kids running around. This really took away from what should be a calming space. While the hotel attendants tried to maintain order, it really was a losing battle for them. The location is really dependent on what you are looking for. I found it nice to have the open park view but there are not many interesting restaurants around. For the middle eastern food, you need to bike about 1.5km. This was fine when the weather was good, but it was not convenient during the latter part of my stay when it rained all day. A few things to be aware of when booking. The breakfast was large with a lot of options but it really is a Chinese style breakfast. To call it Western and Chinese is quite misleading as there were only a few Western options, such as omelets. There is a great large screen television in the room, but only 2 or 3 English channels with the others in Chinese. There is a shuttle bus to the market, but it was a bit disappointing to learn that it only runs twice per day. The main area for the hotel to work on is its consistency of service. Some of the employees were outstanding but there seems to be a need for additional training. For example, the room came with a complimentary daily minibar, but I had to ask each day for it to be refilled. This was quite embarrassing to do, especially when the stocking was just some soft drinks with a single Tsingtao beer. Also, when I was in the toilet, one of the chefs walked out without washing his hands. While he may have washed them (hopefully) when he returned to the kitchen, he should be sure to wash them in front of guests. Lastly, the pool and fitness area seemed to require special access and the people working at the desk for the pool made me feel very uncomfortable when I wanted to see the facilities, so I just left and did not return. This was particularly disappointing because one of the reasons I booked the hotel was for these facilities. Overall it is a very nice hotel and I would book it again. But additional employee training would be appropriate so the service does not take away from what is a high quality hotel.

Langman Shanchuan Scenic Area
The hotel is camping-style, clean, spacious, and has a good view. The squirrel park downstairs is a favorite of children. There is also a bar and barbecue at night. There are rich entertainment facilities. Young people don’t have to worry about going out. They can drink and chat with confidence. There is also a cave hot spring to soak when they are tired. The hotel has a rich breakfast and convenient meals. There are shuttle buses to the Panda Adventure Park, Yunshang Grassland Cableway, etc. If you have time, stay a few more days. It is the best choice for leisure and vacation. The hotel butler provides caring service, and you can travel with your eyes closed and leave at any time without worrying.

Xixi Wetland Park
It is really a hotel that is difficult to review. It has an excellent location, exquisite garden design, and antique architecture. When you step into the hotel located in the core area from the noisy Xixi Scenic Area, you will be amazed by the beautiful scenery and quiet environment in a second. The service is also warm and thoughtful. Every employee is very kind and responsive, especially the hotel's housekeeper, who is the most considerate and humane housekeeper I have ever seen in China. However, the hotel's hardware flaws cannot be concealed. For example, the sliding door of the bathroom is very heavy, and once closed, it cannot be opened from the inside; the cover of the hair dryer socket above the washbasin is about to fall off, which poses a safety hazard; the automatic cover of the Washlet only opens halfway and then closes again each time, and it can only be opened manually. If too much paper is thrown, it is easy to get blocked; the most unbearable thing is that the shower water pressure is very low. With such a low water pressure, you can't use a rainforest shower at all. You can only use a handheld shower head, but the angle of the handheld shower head cannot be adjusted. In short, if you want to take photos, I recommend staying at this hotel. The photos taken are really beautiful and very Jiangnan-style. It may be the most artistic hotel in Xixi. It is different from the modern Mushou Xixi and the luxurious Banyan Tree. If you have high requirements for hardware, especially bathing comfort, you should avoid it.

West Lake, Lingyin Temple Scenic Area
It was my first trip to Hangzhou. I wanted to celebrate my husband’s birthday here and it was totally impromptu. What I was looking for: 1) a closer location to the West lake - to walk there, not to ride; 2) a balcony or courtyard; 3) and/or at least a beautiful view and surroundings; 4) as we love tea and really interested in Chinese tea culture, some tea plantation nearby could be a plus! Not many hotels seemed to meet my requirements and those which fit were way beyond our budget. Xunzhenshe hotel looked very pretty but their description was not very clear. Anyway, considering that I was booking our room just a day (!) before our arrival on Friday night, Xunzhenshe seemed to be my only choice with just two rooms left. To be honest, I didn’t expect much when we arrived. However, from the beginning the service was outstanding with a personal approach. At the hotel they greeted us as we were VIPs. Celia, an English-speaking lady, who contacted me after my booking, was extremely helpful. She gave us few recommendations about Hangzhou and the area nearby. She showed us the tea plantation just next to the hotel and a room where farmers were drying tea leaves - it was quite short but interesting introduction to the hotel environment. The hotel itself is owned and managed by a former architect. The building was built based on construction principles of the Song dynasty. As I understand, all ground floor units have their own courtyard. There is a parking lot, a tea room and a restaurant at the hotel. We were given a non-smoking one-bedroom apartment in a quieter part of the hotel and could enjoy our morning tea in our small but elegant courtyard. The apartment was clean with all necessary amenities. There was a kitchen and a dining room with a huge table (we didn’t use this room though). The breakfast buffet was included in the rate, however they offered mostly Chinese food (no problem for us as we love it). Our dinner and breakfast food were delicious! Also, we so much appreciate totally unexpected birthday presents to my husband. Upon arrival he found a little gift with a touching handwritten birthday message and then birthday noodles were served at the restaurant. So, it was very unique and memorable celebration! After all, I was really happy with my hotel’s choice. To conclude what we loved the most about this hotel: 1. Attentive and caring service 2. Nature and beautiful surroundings 3. Very good location: just next to the West lake park and bridges. Walkable distance to the famous night show Impression and Su Causeway. Not far away to Leifeng pagoda and Longjing and Meijiawu villages. 4. Good Chinese restaurant with a terrace just next to the tea plantation 5. Amazing tea Me and my husband had a great time in Xunzhenshe. Highly recommend it to those who love places with soul.

Anji Surrounding Area
On a trip to escape the city, I came to the end of the village by chance and met this hotel. The hotel is built on the mountain, with a simple and plain decoration style and relatively plain colors, which blends with the mountain like nature. Lying on the lounge chair by the swimming pool, enjoying exquisite desserts, watching the blue water and the sunset echoing each other, brought me unprecedented tranquility. The hotel has its own restaurant. The restaurant style is similar to the room style. The meals are local Anji dishes. The overall atmosphere is Western and the atmosphere is very strong. When eating, I happened to meet the couple at the table next to me for their birthday. The restaurant staff arranged their table, and the atmosphere felt more suitable for couples to date. The room I booked has two floors. The first floor is more like a living room, and the bedroom is on the second floor. It is a bit empty for one person. The hotel is equipped with butler service, which replies to messages quickly and answers questions efficiently. Because the room I booked by chance did not have a small room with a hot spring bath, the butler helped to prepare a hot spring bath 🥹 (the little sister and the little brother are very online in appearance, the service is very attentive, and special praise 👍)

Best Hotel we have visited in China within it’s cost to service ratio. You get real value for your money and this experience is therefore unmatched by any other hotel we have stayed at. From arrival, you are welcomed at your car with a friendly portar that accompanies you to the reception desk with your luggage and after check-in to your room. Check-in was quick and easy with the friendly and efficient staff. We had only told the hotel it is an anniversary stay. Our room was made-up with folded swan-towels on the bed and scattered balloons with rose petals. You can go for a walk throughout the area all the way to the nearest swimming beach built on the lagoon (Ningbo Binhai Thousands of People Sand Beach) entry fee of 30RMB per adult on weekdays and 60RMB on weekends. About 10 to 15 minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel has a bar where you can have cocktails and food professionally made with some of the best ingredients. Don’t get dissuaded by the price tag. (I would however say the service is extremely good but slow during the week at the bar. ) Be patient, relaxed and enjoy the bar. It is worthwhile and great value. Would highly recommend the Burger and Mojito. The staff left us a complementary fruit and cake basket with a bottle of wine and some soup for a night snack. You can visit the Chinese Fishing Village in Xiangshan. It cost about 646RMB to go there and back and the ride takes between 90 and 120 minutes. Entrance is 60RMB per adult. You can rent a tent and chairs at the beach for 100rmb for the first hour and 50rmb for each additional hour. I would highly recommend taking your own towels with some water bottles to wash your feet when leaving the beach. You can pay 25rmb per person at the facilities next to the beach to wash your feet or take a shower(the facilities are not good). There are slow Quad Bikes to ride on the beach and Jet Ski’s on the water. The quad bikes are about 100RMB for 15 minutes. Room service can be sent to your room with the food kept warm in a small oven under the kart for your convenience. When requesting some water or small items at night, the staff can sometimes send the items with a robot to your room. The hotel has a swimming pool that you can use anytime within the schedule. We could use the swimming pool any time between 08:00 in the morning and 21:00 in the evening. You can request a towel at the pool reception desk on the swimming pool floor. I would highly recommend this hotel for a break away from busy life. You can come here to relax with world class service at a valued price.

The room is clean, sanitary, spacious, and the bed is relatively large. The front desk upgraded the room, so the view is very good. The bathroom is also large. There are many varieties of breakfast, and vegetarian dishes and meat dishes are separated, which is the first choice for vegetarians. In addition, the hotel has a special vegetarian restaurant.

The hotel location is quite convenient, it's just a 6-10mins walking distance to the nearest metro station (subway), 16-20mins driving distance to Xiaoshan airport. There are restaurants, convenience stores, supermarket, and pharmacies within walking distance. It contains complete facilities with a restaurant for breakfast, a self-serve laundry, and a fitness room. The double room is spacious, clean and hygienic, with all the necessary items in the room like a hair dryer, a kettle, a fridge, cups, free mineral waters and coffee. The staffs at the front desk are nice, friendly and helpful, very good in service. The only problem is that on the last day of my stay, there was a sudden problem with the light in the room. It would automatically go out every 10 mins+, and it would go out completely until the room is completely dark. I would either turn it on manually or call Xiaodu to turn on the light. But this is not only inconvenient but also scary, especially when I'm in the bathroom and suddenly the light went totally off. At first I thought I would check out in a few hours and just bear with it, but then it was too terrifying so I asked the front desk to change my room. Later on, I was told that the entire 9th and 10th floors had this problem and the rooms on these 2 floors were not rented out. (Does that mean I was the only one ”communicating” with the light in the room at the end of the corridor on the 10th floor alone that night? Why didn't you tell me earlier!) Hopefully, it's fixed before renting out the room again, and please make some arrangements for your customers if the similar issue happens again, especially I reported the issue in the afternoon and your engineer came and inspected the problem, you should have known that the issue couldn't be fixed, you can't imagine how scary it was. Anyway, the staffs were still acting quite fast when I finally changed my mind to request to change the room, a guy came and moved my luggage to the 8th floor as per my request.
