We loved our stay at this hotel. It was amazingly clean, and developed to look like new. It made our stay feel extraordinary. The staff and service was great. Full of smiles and always willing to help. Would definitely recommend and stay here again!! Thank you!

What can I say. Entrance to hotel is nice as you walk and goes down there. Place is clean yes, but shows age. Lifts work and large. But, going down press button. But, blanked out or no indicator or level. Room and whole level 4 I was on had heating on middle of heat wave. Got to Room and found vents for air con, but busted control. Light fitting in bathroom blinked, Room. Felt aged and had open light bulb in closet. Was clean yes, but didn't feel 100 level. No way to turn heating off when I came back from gig. Ended up running Bath on. Min temp to cool down and sleep and off. By 4 am room with basic fan was just about cool enough to sleep. On entry back to hotel from gig had heavy handed security list checking even though guests had cards. Got my room no mixed up. But, gave name and ended to being marched to the desk to confirm my room and that I'd paid. Security guard told me that there is no way I had booked in when I had. No apology when it's confirmed I was a guest. Wouldn't stay again as hotel needs clear investment and feels like it would be a 40 quid a night level normally, but gig pricing raised costs. Now have a bad back and aching from sleeping in a bath for 90 quid and generally sore and tired. First time using Britainia should of gone with Travel lodge, IBis Brands or Premier Inn as nice front, but very dated and poor brand and rooms.
This is a castle hotel with a history of 800 years. The hotel service is warm and thoughtful, the sanitary conditions are good, the breakfast is rich and delicious. What's more worth mentioning is the environment of the hotel. In addition to the beautiful castle, the surrounding natural environment is even more pleasant.
If you can get over the odd lay out and outside aesthetic, the OX Manchester is great. The staff are nice and approachable, the room is nice and the bathrooms are clean and new.
Breakfast is great and the dining area is set up well.
OX Manchester is also close to Metro link which makes it ideal if you don’t want to drive further into the city.

I stayed the day before and booked an extra night but had to move room which was very smooth move. Firstly the was a poo stain on the toilet lid when I checked in and then later when I took a bath it was that hot that I burnt the bottom layer of my foot from the water. There is no way it should be running that hot. Then once I managed to cool my foot down and the bath. I burnt 2 of my toes just from touch the side of the taps. A very different experience from my first night stay and you can see from my review

Hotel as expected. Clean and convenient. Room had everything we needed. We visited the wellness gym but our card didn’t work so not sure if this is an extra? Only downside was breakfast was very busy, had to wait for a table and they had run out of food items. I ordered a poached egg and waited so long I went for my breakfast and finished it before my egg arrived! Good selection of food if everything had been topped up! Not enough staff on though to cater for numbers waiting for breakfast….however this wouldn’t stop me staying again! Overall a pleasant stay :)

We checked in before 3 p.m. and got the room key immediately! The location is just by the train station, the room is clean and comfortable, and the staff are quite friendly :) The only minor flaw is that the room has no kettle or bottles of water, so you can only get tap water at the bar beside the reception. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel!

Very beautiful downstairs/reception area. You are expected to check in using a machine.
There was a tea and coffee station on the same floor as my room which was good (no tea/coffee in the room)
The rooms are good (mine only cost a few pounds more than the Travelodge, for the same night). But the downside for me is that the rooms seem very over-engineered. A bit like it was someone's vanity project to create a hotel like this, rather than
considering what makes guests lives easier.
Overall I'm glad I stayed and experienced it and I do recommend it as a good hotel.
Stayed here a few times now, quiet hotel but near to all local shops and transport links to Manchester city centre and the airport. Rooms are warm, with a fan in the cupboard if needed, plenty of tea and coffee provided, mini fridge and microwave too 👍 my shower wasn't the best on this stay but not the end of the world tbh.
Hotel Pool has now beeb decommissioned and no longer operational. Gym was available but not much equipment available. During my stay there was a maintenance malfunction resulting in two whole floors of the building having to endure loud drilling noise throughout the night as no onsite maintenance team to fix. Had to move rooms at 11pm and entire floor one stank of ******** - concierge advised the hotel have this problem frequently but they are unable to police guests who are smoking **** in their rooms. Not the best five days business trip overall although menu was great and staff were very friendly. Daily car parking charge of £5 per night for guests should be abolished in my opinion.

GGuest UserHotel is excellent room and views are lovely. Location is excellent and majority of staff were nice. Only a few issues they give and charge you for doubles in the bar when the menu only gives single prices. The response from the barmaid was you never specified a single when that should be as standard. Also take 50 pound a night for cover in case you spend in the hotel but only refunded 97.60 for the 2 nights. Although we didn’t spend anything on the room. The hotel is super but just those 2 things took the shine of a really great stay.
GGuest UserTrip was good stay was a bit disappointed because check out was 10am if you left at 12 they wanted £15 for a few hours extra even we checked in at 7 .30 .The stay should be 24 hrs .lighting in the room was 1 lamp ,bathroom was lighted up you can see what you are doing but in bedroom was very poor room 210
GGuest UserIt was truly a pleasure staying in voco hotel at Manchester city center . The bed is cozy, including 2 bottles of water in refrigerator
I want to thank for Dilijan’s service, he took special care of my needs that the top management came to stay and I wonder if any room available to check in earlier, he not only did that but also upgraded some other services. Gave me full support on hosting my bosses. Thanks so much!
Also thanks to ioana for quickly arranging receipt for me and facilitating with Dilijan. I felt so pleased!
HHumble Bumble Queen BeeAs I had a 6am flight, I chose to stay the night at TRIBE due to its convenient walking distance to the airport. I also selected it over other nearby options because it's a relatively new hotel, and I was happy to pay a bit more for cleanliness and comfort.
The hotel does look stylish from the outside, and the public spaces are well-designed. However, the room itself was a disappointment. Cleanliness was not up to standards, which was a major letdown. When I pulled back the duvet, I found dirt marks and hair inside the covers. It made me extremely uncomfortable, and I ended up not sleeping under the covers at all because it just didn’t feel clean.
Additionally, they used off-brand coffee capsules instead of proper Nespresso ones, which felt like a small but noticeable cost-cutting move for a hotel in this price range.
Overall, the location is convenient and the design is nice, but the lack of attention to basic cleanliness really undermined the experience.
OOliver WilliamThe hotel is in a great location, very close to both the train station and Terminal 2 (though some of the roadworks around the area are a little confusing this isn't the hotel's fault). It has a bar and small restaurant with a pool table downstairs, along with some vending machines. The restaurant does things like pizza, burgers, simple pastas etc.; I got in the lift with someone taking some pizza back to their room and it smelt amazing so I had to get one! A little bit pricey, but that's kind of expected for airport hotel food, though it was worth it as the pizza was freshly made. Very convenient being able to take it up to my room and chill out. The room itself was more than adequate, clean and had everything you need. I'm not really sure what more they could do to improve things at the kind of prices you pay for hotels like this. In fact in some ways it was better than more expensive hotels in the area simply because I liked having the vending machines on site to buy a drink or little snack late at night where other hotels have long shut up everything and there's no one about and nothing to buy. It was over £20 a night cheaper than other hotels in the area at the time I booked it so again, I really don't know what else you can ask for. I did try to book a stay on my return but prices had gone up and it was the same price to stay at one of the nicer hotels nearby; if that's the case then by all means go for the nicer hotel but if you're early enough to take advantage of the cheaper prices this place offers it's definitely worth it. Negative reviews seem to focus on there being no hairdryer (who cares, bring your own) or Chinese people complaining about there being no bottled water or slippers something; I'd rather save £20 on the room than some pointless gesture like free bottled water and slippers. Someone mentioned they couldn't check in until 3pm... isn't that the normal check in time for hotels? What are these people smoking, honestly.

SSheikh RenuThe hotel is located close to China town and local team and bus services. It’s also close to major train station
Lots of bars night life around . Rooms are clean and coffee tea provided all nice
Hotel has good security and is safe stayed here many many times all good
GGuest UserThis is a grand and historic hotel, and I had a very comfortable stay. Its location is fantastic, right in the city center and just a short walk from Manchester's Chinatown. My only complaints are the unclear smoking signs near the entrance and the tiny ashtrays provided. There was also no doorman to offer assistance or reminders. This could easily lead to fines (as enforcement seemed rather discreet), which unfortunately cast a shadow of frustration and disappointment over my trip.
KKAH LENG WONGEverything all good except toilet / bath very small. Sink at the room and vanity top too small, can’t really put much stuff. No kettle in room. Hair dryer need to get from reception. Tesco nearby can buy food/drinks . Macdonalds and Starbucks nearby. Tram station doorstep. A bit noisy as open air car park is right downstairs.
