Stayed overnight after attending a football match. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was quite small and a bit dated but clean and perfect for 1 night. Didn’t book breakfast but receptionist kindly arranged for us to have coffee from the breakfast room. Very convenient location right at the railway station.

Good experience overall. On Trip.com it states there is free parking available, but this is not true. The hotel did clarify this when I mentioned parking on my booking request. They advised us to park at the Old Town Rose Street parking (paid) which is less than 5 minute walk away.

The hotel has seen better days and could do with attention to details, especially the public areas. The rooms however, were clean and organised. Reception staff was very friendly as was one of the restaurant staff. The hotel looks like 25 years ago and hasn’t been updated since. The outside of the hotel doesn’t look inviting, rather scruffy. It also appears to cater for tour groups.  Breakfast was ok, but again a bit of modernisation wouldn’t go amiss. A 10:00 am check out time is too early and should be considered when booking this hotel.

I was shocked when i first entered the room, the toilet was unclean. However, upon speaking to the reception, they immediately arranged for a clean up and offered us complimentary drinks. Cheers to them, had a pleasant stay.

The hotel is on the main road of the town, and it is very convenient to go out for meals. The hotel has drinking water, which is very good. The breakfast is super delicious. It is made to order and is more delicious than the main meal. You must order breakfast. The waiter is very good. He makes tea, coffee and juice for you. He is very diligent. There are a lot of salmon in the smoked salmon bagel. The yogurt cup is also very delicious.

We had a fantastic stay at Kingsmill Hotel. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the golf course which was beautiful. The bathroom was cleaned perfectly with no dust or mould. The kingside bed was huge and very comfortable. We would stay again.

This was the most spacious and modern hotel I've seen while traveling in the UK. There's a river right outside, and the river view is absolutely stunning. The only minor issue was that the bathroom felt a bit off-putting; otherwise, everything was impeccable. The breakfast was also incredibly delicious, with a wonderful Scottish flavor! Since we had to leave very early for the Isle of Skye, we asked the staff for breakfast boxes to go, which was fantastic! The location is also excellent, only about a 15-minute walk to many of the meeting points for GetYourGuide tours. Finally, when we were leaving for the airport, we didn't have a car, and it's quite hard to get an Uber here. So, we asked the front desk staff to help us call a taxi, and the price was very reasonable – a really thoughtful service!

Really perfect location, even if you don't go to Ben Nevis there looks to be so much to do and explore around here in terms of walking/biiking/running trails and the ski lift which takes people up to the Nevis range. All of the front desk staff we spoke to were very friendly and pleasant but there wasnt much we needed help with. I think the room and the hotel itself could do with having some more facilities/amenities due to the premium price we had to pay but apart from that everything that is there was satisfactory but bare minimum. The cafe breakfast food was nice but the staff there were a little cold, that was the only real down point. Overall it was a pleasant stay, it was easy to get here by taxi and easy to get to the Ben Nevis visitor centre by taxi but make sure you book ahead and go early.

GGuest UserLots to love but room for a few improvements. The biggest is the doors on the rooms. They are heavy wooden doors and slam really loud. As you can imagine that’s quite annoying when people go in and out waking people up Bathroom door rotten at bottom from damp, needs replaced, looks awful. Cleaning under sinks and taps in bathrooms, the things you see when you sit in the bath!! Painting of the room could be a bit tidier, white paint all over grey radiator pipes. Cleaners could be a bit more gentler when hoovering, they batter the radiator pipes in the rooms and it vibrates to the room your in , next door! Out of stock of some flavours for cocktails, young staff seen with mobile phones very casually. Move out of sight, the customer / service are important Food is expensive for the quality you get too

GGuest UserThe hotel is looking and feeling very tired and dated and in serious need of upgrading.  They’re charging 2025 prices for 1980 standard services.  They clearly cater for bus tours and large parties which are not there to appreciate where they are and their surroundings.  There was serious problem with running hot water in the room as well as in the showers in the spa.  I overheard many guests complaining about no hot water in their rooms at reception.   Breakfast was very disappointing, they offer a continental selection of one type of cold meat and one type of sliced cheese with pan loaf bread!  Fort William boasts artisan bakery’s so no excuse there.  During breakfast very loud 80s movie themed music is blaring, the dining room is so big there’s practically a speaker above every second table.  When asked to turn it down we were met with a standard reply, “I was just asked to turn it up”. Totally unbelievable.  Due to the large parties tables are not cleared fast enough nor cleaned, we had to clean and set our own table before we could eat and this is where we were directed to sit. Waiting staff are clearly not trained nor directed appropriately for a hotel boasting a high standard.  We were not encouraged to dine in the hotel at all. The exterior of the building is not only showing signs of disrepair but is also very dirty. They are missing the B in the main signage and is the first thing you see on arrival.   Positives:  the room was clean although all views from most rooms do not look out onto anything nice.  Temperature of the pool, steam room and jacuzzi excellent.  The lounge bar appeared to have the best atmosphere and felt like a highland hotel. Would I recommend this hotel? Definitely not!   Would I stay there again? Definitely not!

GGuest UserReally great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.

GGuest UserGood hotel but, for their regular double room, over priced. The Glen Mhor is basically a collection of former B&B establishments which have been taken over and redeveloped. This means that the majority of rooms are in neighbouring buildings so a bit of a walk is involved! I have stayed here before and each time found myself in a small double room. They are clean, well decorated and fine for an overnight stay. On the downside, they tend to be so small that there is no room for a chair or workspace. This time around we opted for the breakfast package. The restaurant was right at the opposite end of the complex but the walk along to it was pleasant. The breakfast itself was excellent. Staff were incredibly attentive and the range of food on offer was very good. Would I stay again? That would depend on the package on offer. I wouldn't opt for a 'room only' given the small size - there are plenty Premier Inns around which, to be fair, are of an equal, if not higher standard to the standard double rooms at Glen Mhor. Location is excellent for the city centre and depending when you travel, there is plenty parking available.

GGuest UserI found my one night stay at the Highlander Hotel to be very pleasant. My room was a generous double en suite and was spotless. As a solo traveller on a pedal bike I was pleased that there was a secure shed where I could leave my bike in confidence. The staff were very helpful over this and again when I reported that the tv wasn't receiving a signal. This was sorted very quickly with a new aerial cable. Breakfast was good, with plenty of fresh fruit and a choice of hot dishes. Great value and I'd certainly go back.

GGuest UserWe stayed at 5 star Dornoch Station on. B & B basis for 1 night. The room was good the receptionist and bar staff were all good. However, the breakfast was horrendous. Totally shambolic, we were served Luke warm coffee from a flask, my wife ordered porridge with honey only, without the accompanying raspberry compote and almonds.  After a long wait a full porridge with everything was delivered - which my wife didn’t want and couldn’t eat. I ordered a poached egg on toast which looked good when it finally arrived. First bite I had to spit out onto the plate. Full of egg shell, not just an odd piece, but a mouthful of them. We were offered replacements, which we politely declined and immediately checked out of the hotel to find somewhere else decent to have breakfast. This is the first time I’ve ever experienced this issue - very dissapointing and not acceptable from a so-called 5 star establishment.
