Guest UserOur stay at Marriott Perhentian exceeded every expectation once again. This was our third visit in less than 12 months, and each time the experience has been even better than the last.
, with crystal-clear water, pristine beaches, multiple swimming pools and incredible views in every direction. The resort itself is beautifully designed, perfectly blending luxury with the natural beauty of the island.
What truly makes this place exceptional is its people. Every single staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and genuinely cared for. Their kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to help at every opportunity made all the difference. Special thanks to Faizal and zafirah our host.
The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and extremely comfortable. The food was consistently excellent, offering great variety and outstanding quality. With 3 restaurant to chose from, Sekoci for fine dining and day time pizzas and quick bites, Dapur for breakfast and dinner with wide selection of delicious local and international food.
A special thank you to the entire Marriott Perhentian team for creating such memorable experiences. It is rare to find a place where every aspect of hospitality is delivered with such passion, consistency, and genuine care.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Marriott Perhentian to anyone looking for an exceptional island getaway. Returning three times in less than a year speaks for itself, and we are already looking forward to our next visit.

Mel1A Resort with Great Potential, but a Very Disappointing Stay
Peridot has one of the nicest, quietest, and most beautiful stretches of sandy beach in Redang. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended for us.
The resort has tremendous potential, but it is let down by poor maintenance, limited food choices, and pricing that simply doesn’t match the overall experience.
Our biggest disappointment was the villa. Despite paying over RM1,000 per night, the spacious villa was fitted with only a single 1.5HP air-conditioner. The room was unbearably hot throughout our stay. We had no choice but to drag our beds directly in front of the air-conditioner just to get some sleep. We made repeated complaints over three nights, but unfortunately nothing could be done.
On our first day alone, we had to request repairs for the leaking bidet, faulty shower head, rain shower, and several other maintenance issues. While the staff responded promptly and were always polite, there is only so much they can do. The underlying problem lies with the overall management and upkeep of the property. Even the reception aircond is leaking 🫣
The swimming pool also deserves immediate attention. It is widely known among visitors staying at other resorts in Redang that Peridot’s pool is often dirty and murky. Ironically, the seawater at the beach looked much cleaner than the pool itself.
The restaurant was another letdown. The menu was very limited, yet prices were among the highest on the island. Even the breakfast selection was disappointing and did not reflect the premium rates charged by the resort.
What surprised us most was that many neighbouring resorts, despite having beaches that are not as beautiful as this one, felt much more vibrant, lively, and better maintained.
After travelling to many countries around the world, it is genuinely disappointing that one of our most memorable negative hotel experiences happened in our own country.
I sincerely hope someone from the company reads this review. This resort has enormous potential but requires significant investment in maintenance, facilities, food quality, and overall guest experience. More importantly, it needs an experienced hotel manager who can revive and properly manage what could easily become one of Redang’s best resorts.
Malaysia is well known for its hospitality. Please don’t let such a beautiful property tarnish that reputation. With the right management and commitment to improvement, this resort could truly become something exceptional.

Guest UserI went here for a convention and I stayed for 2 days and 3 nights. The room is very spacious and clean. A big plus for me is that the rooms have no carpet. Affordable and fast room service. Easy checkin and checkout. The only con I see is that the rooms are not that soundproof. I also tried their gymnasium, they have a cable machine, free weights, elliptical, stationary bike and treadmill. Also, another con is if you like to do your laundry in a hotel, their laundry service is sooo expensive. They charge per clothing, not per kg. But nevertheless, staying here is value for money.
Its walking distance from the airport (less than 1km). But if you want to explore the city center, this place is quite far from the center.

Rina_WwThis is our second time staying at this hotel, and we generally love everything, with only minor drawbacks. It's definitely worth splurging on the higher-category rooms and avoiding the standard ones. The location is super convenient; on one side, you have the island's best beach, and on the other, Barath Cafe, which became our go-to spot for meals. The only downsides were a noisy air conditioner and occasionally weak water pressure, but I think that's a common issue on islands. Otherwise, everything was great. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

love holidayWe initially had a frustrating experience as our towels were delivered quite late. However, the situation was handled professionally by Manager Iza, who personally delivered the towels to our room and sincerely apologized for the delay. Her prompt action and attention to guests made a positive difference.
Overall, the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We booked four rooms and requested them to be located near each other, which the hotel successfully accommodated. However, housekeeping services need improvement, as one of our rooms was not serviced and there were some inconsistencies in room maintenance during our stay.
The hotel’s location is excellent and very convenient. It is close to everything we needed, with Restoran Singgang Budu located right beside the hotel. There are also laundry facilities nearby, and plenty of food options within walking distance, making it a great choice for travelers.
The staff were friendly, always smiling, and genuinely tried their best to accommodate our requests throughout our stay. While housekeeping could be improved, the service recovery by the management team and the hotel’s strategic location made our overall stay enjoyable.

Anonymous UserI recently stayed at Langit Duyong Hotel, Terengganu for 2 nights.
First of all, I would like to say that the ambience, location, and overall scenery were truly beautiful. The view was one of the main highlights of my stay. The peaceful waterfront setting and natural surroundings created a relaxing atmosphere, especially during sunrise and sunset. The property has great potential and offers a unique experience compared to typical hotels.
Unfortunately, my experience was significantly affected by several issues.
The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness of the room. Upon check-in, the room was not cleaned to an acceptable standard, and I had to contact housekeeping to perform a second round of cleaning. While the housekeeping team responded, guests should not have to request additional cleaning upon arrival. Cleanliness is a basic expectation for any accommodation.
Another concern was the maintenance of the surrounding area. The grass around the property was quite long and appeared untrimmed. As a guest, this raised concerns about the possibility of snakes, insects, or other animals entering the vicinity of the rooms. Regular landscaping and maintenance would greatly improve both safety and the overall appearance of the property.
The most frustrating issue, however, was the ongoing renovation work at the neighbouring unit/building. There was significant construction noise starting early in the morning during both days of my stay. What made this more disappointing was that guests were not informed beforehand about the renovation activities. Had I known in advance, I could have managed my expectations or made a different booking decision. Transparency regarding major renovation works is important, especially for guests who choose this property expecting a peaceful and relaxing getaway.
Overall, I genuinely enjoyed the beautiful view, strategic location, and unique atmosphere of the hotel. However, the cleanliness issues, lack of landscape maintenance, and unannounced renovation noise greatly affected the experience. I left feeling both impressed by the property’s potential and disappointed by the management’s attention to guest comfort.
I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously, as with better maintenance, communication, and housekeeping standards, this could be a truly exceptional place to stay in Terengganu.

Kuan TakNewly renovated hotel, clean and comfortable.
Outdoor carpark is behind the hotel with daily charge of RM2.20.
Our room is unfortunately next to the main road and thus traffic noise was unbearable.
The newly renovated wall fixture next to the bed is having a sharp metal corner ie a potential safety issue that must be rectified to prevent injury (see photo)

Anonymous UserIf you're coming for the beach, and only for that please do go to this resort. One of the nicest beach in these Islands.
Main issues where the lack of pressure in the shower ( cant get rid of the sand ) , the rooms and all of the commodities are outdated. The resort lives of the beach and its reputation.
Food is alright, don't expect anything great from this.
Taxi boats are mandatory to move around, price is doubled starting 7pm, so when you need to go outside to eat for example.
No taxis when raining so be careful to not get stranded on the other side.
Happened to us and we had to book a night in another hotel ( which was the best sleep we had our whole stay )
Rooms are decent, bed wasnt cleaned before we came in and was sandy / dirty. Lots of noise coming from the wildlife around the hotel, so if you're expecting a quiet stay, go elsewhere.
The beach is very very nice, you can see turtles, sharks and lots of different species of fishes.
The whole resort needs renovation.
I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5, and that's only because of the beach, the fishes and the sunny weather.

Megat AmmarI had a wonderful stay at Resorts World Kijal. The resort offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it a perfect getaway from the busy city. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with beautiful views and well-maintained facilities.
The staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to assist, making the entire experience pleasant from check-in to check-out. The beach is clean and serene, ideal for morning walks and enjoying the sunrise. The swimming pool and other recreational facilities were also well maintained and suitable for both families and couples.
The food was delicious, with a good variety of local and international dishes. Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay and would highly recommend Resorts World Kijal to anyone looking for a relaxing beach vacation. I look forward to visiting again in the future.
