This Beijing airport is a little further from Beijing's city centre, at approximately 45 km. It is located south of the Chinese capital, and here you will also find several lounges with various amenities. These include 4 Priority Pass lounges and 3 airline lounges. The latter are operated by the airlines China Southern and China Eastern. You can take a direct flight to Beijing with both of these, for example from London.

🚬 Are there smoking lounges at Beijing Airport?
While both Beijing airports have many differences, there is also one thing they have in common.
There are actually no smoking lounges at Beijing Airport. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside both airports. At Daxing Airport, there are two designated smoking areas outside instead, but at Capital Airport, the rules for smokers are a bit stricter.
Here, too, you can only smoke outside, which isn't possible if you're on a layover. That’s because it’s located outside the transit area. You would effectively have to "enter" China to be able to reach the smoking area.

The overall cleanliness of the hotel is good. Although the decor is a bit dated, the environment is comfortable and clean, which is good. I was initially worried about a smell after reading reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised upon check-in – there was no odor at all (I'm quite sensitive to smells). It was worth all the effort I put into carefully selecting this hotel. From the front desk service when we arrived to the cleaning staff, everyone was excellent, enthusiastic, and proactive. The front desk helped us arrange tickets for the Temple of Heaven, explained the check-in procedures clearly, and reminded us that toiletries needed to be requested. Since I hadn't brought any, they immediately provided a set, and the children's items were delivered to the room. My child was thrilled to use the hotel's special toothbrushes and slippers. Across the street from the hotel entrance, there are hot pot restaurants, a supermarket, and a bus stop, making it very convenient. It's also super easy to go watch the flag raising ceremony; just head west from the hotel entrance, past two traffic lights, and it's about a 15-minute walk. After looking at many hotels, I finally settled on this one. Choosing a hotel for a trip is often a headache, and personally, I prioritize soundproofing. However, for this trip to Beijing, I focused more on transportation convenience, so I booked this place from the start. I did anticipate that the soundproofing and cleanliness might not be great.
Upon checking in, the front desk kindly upgraded me to a deluxe twin room for free. Surprisingly, the air conditioning and refrigerator in the room were very quiet, and the overall soundproofing was quite good. Coupled with the convenience of transportation – being able to walk to Tiananmen Square and having many restaurants nearby within walking distance, plus a subway station right downstairs – it's a recommended place for Beijing tourists who walk tens of thousands of steps a day.
There were a few drawbacks, though. For example, the toilet seemed quite old, with insufficient flushing power, which needs improvement. Also, the hotel doesn't have laundry facilities. The room's balcony gets plenty of sunlight, so I'd suggest adding a floor-standing drying rack.FromUS$73

The hotel was in a great central location. We loved the smart controls in the room which help with lighting and opening the curtains from the bedside. The rooms only downsides were a funny smell specific to our room from behind the fridge and the bathroom door which stuck so hard it needed to be pulled shut and made a lid noise when doing so, some oil should resolve this!
Unfortunately when we arrived at 4:15pm from London our room was not ready which was very disappointing after a long trip. We had to wait another hour and go into the city to kill the time.
Also everyone should note this hotel has one lift and no stairs, for a hotel with this many rooms this is simply not good enough. The staff use the same lift as does the cute delivery robot. This meant we spent way too much of our time existing for the elevator to down and up. Given we were on the floor above reception this would have been unnecessary if the stairs were accessible. This was a major issue for us and was the only thing that spoiled the stay.

I put my parents in a separate room at this hotel and they were upgraded when we checked in, which was very kind of the staff. Their room had a more classic feel compared to ours, but it was clean, quiet and the beds were comfortable.

This is my second time staying at Peace Hotel, first time was in 2017. This time we stayed at the newer West Wing. We initially had only planned to stay one night but decided to extend our stay and stayed 5 nights this visit. The hotel gave us a voucher for complimentary art workshop. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and so did my nieces. Location of the hotel is perfect, within walking distance to few subway stations and just one block away from downtown commercial shopping. Staff are friendly, great breakfast selection, rooms are, clean and spacious. The housekeeping staff are very polite and friendly, they are constantly maintaining the cleanliness and tidyness of the space. We did not get a chance to use the pool, as the day goes by it gets pretty busy with kids, swimming cap is mandatory and can be purchased from the gym trainers. The laundry room was convenient (3 washer, 3 dryer), detergent supplied, but the dryer takes a long time to fully dry so we ended up airing our clothes in our suite. This Manxin Hotel in Wangfujing has an absolutely fantastic location. Quanjude Roast Duck is right next door, making dining incredibly convenient. You can walk to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City, which is a huge plus for families traveling with children. The rooms are clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, and the staff are warm and attentive. After a long day of sightseeing, you can easily pop back to the hotel to rest. During this stay, I truly experienced what it means to “be amidst the bustle, yet privately enjoy luxury.” Arriving on the afternoon of the 25th, from the moment I stepped into the lobby, that grand sense of tranquility isolated me from the noise outside the window. The room was super spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling window offered an unparalleled city skyline view, with the CCTV Headquarters (the 'big trousers') and China Zun tower side-by-side. That feeling of having the imperial capital at your feet instantly made the room rate worthwhile!
I must particularly praise the Kerry Club Lounge on the 18th floor! It was truly the highlight of my entire stay! The service from Ms. Lucy, Clara, and Seanna was simply delightful, making me feel incredibly welcome. The lounge's food, whether afternoon tea or evening happy hour, offered such a vast variety that it was hard to choose. The breakfast at 'Jia Pin Restaurant' on the morning of the 26th absolutely won me over—there were 7 ways to prepare eggs alone, plus fresh grapefruit. These kinds of details are truly a huge plus!
Although I know this hotel is a representative of the 'old money' opened in 1999, the facilities are incredibly well-maintained. That sense of profound grandeur, refined by the passage of time, is a quality new hotels simply cannot replicate. The gym and heated swimming pool are top-tier for hotels in China, with huge spaces and comprehensive equipment. Even just a swim feels like a luxury.

The environment is beautiful, although the swimming pool is a bit small. But it wasn't crowded, which was nice. The room was also very new, and the kids loved it. The bed was large, a 2.2m bed, and very comfortable to sleep in. It rained at night so we didn't go out and instead had the seafood buffet. We even got to scoop our own seafood, which the kids found fun and unique. For the seafood buffet, my child even said that the chocolate and ice cream cake, which came out last around 8 PM, were the best things they ate. The concierge was very thoughtful, helping to receive a delivery, even unpacking it and bringing it up, and also helping with luggage. There are many foreigners staying at the hotel, mainly due to its proximity to the embassy district. You can walk to many great restaurants nearby, and the bakery and German restaurant downstairs are also highlights. Being surrounded by many embassies gives you a unique feel of the capital city. The Liangma River is right next to the hotel, and we went kayaking there with my family in the evening, experiencing a unique sense of relaxation in Beijing. This five-star hotel truly delivers on luxury, making for an exceptional experience.
The location deserves special praise – it's incredibly convenient for getting anywhere. With Metro Line 1 and Line 5 just a short walk away, getting around is completely effortless. Step out of the hotel and turn left, and you'll find Longfor Tianjie Mall within 50 meters, boasting so many shopping and dining options that you'll be spoiled for choice. All your retail therapy and culinary cravings will be easily satisfied.
The room itself was an even bigger surprise. It was incredibly spacious, bright, and filled with natural light. The floor-to-ceiling window, in particular, offered an amazing view – it was incredibly comfortable just lying there and taking in the scenery. The amenities were comprehensive, and the pillows and mattress were perfectly comfortable. I slept so soundly, straight through till morning, feeling completely refreshed.
Breakfast is also worth mentioning. With a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, there was so much to choose from, ensuring a satisfying start to each day.
The staff were consistently warm, polite, and genuinely considerate of guests' needs. Their service was incredibly thoughtful, and they definitely deserve a big thumbs up!

Summary: Our two-and-a-half-year-old absolutely loved it here, and the adults were comfortable too. We'll definitely be back.
Room: The treehouse slide room was a huge hit with our little one. As soon as we entered, they were climbing up and sliding down non-stop, burning off so much energy! When it was time to check out, they kept asking to stay another night.
Dining: The Chinese restaurant is recommended; the food was good, and the prices were quite reasonable for a five-star hotel. The buffet restaurant on weekend mornings was very crowded, requiring a wait. It would be great if they could address the capacity issue during peak hours.
Hot Springs: The Tang Le Palace hot spring complex has many pools of various sizes, and they were quite clean. Both our child and we had a great time soaking and playing. We went on a weekend, and while it was busy, it didn't feel uncomfortably crowded, unlike some other hot springs that feel like a 'dumpling bath'.

I've lost count of how many times I've stayed at NUO Hotel Beijing. We've been coming here every time we visit Beijing since my child was very young! This time, the front desk staff, Mina, upgraded our room and gave us complimentary executive breakfast on the 25th floor, which was much appreciated! The breakfast selection was small but exquisite, and the service was excellent.
There are many kid-friendly attractions around NUO Hotel, and the pool is also very clean. Among hotels in Beijing at a similar price point, the location and value for money are top-notch. We booked a twin room this time, and they combined the beds into a super-king, just like at Universal NUO – a big thumbs up!

We had a fantastic stay at Scitech Hotel in Beijing and were very happy with the entire experience. Everything was excellent from start to finish. The rooms were clean, comfortable, spacious, and well maintained, and the breakfast was great with a good selection of food.
What really stood out, however, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay. A special mention has to go to Ethan Qi, who was exceptionally kind and helpful. He genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience and made us feel very welcome.

The room was spacious, clean, and bright, and the air conditioning worked perfectly.
