This hotel is pretty good. There is a female clerk with an Asian face who hates the bad reviews. She looks impatient and dreadful. The other white people are very polite and friendly. The overall service level in Switzerland is still very good
The room was huge. The furnishings are tasteful and attractive. However, there is a lack of storage space. The champagne we ordered in advance was in a broken bucket. The bathroom is so small that you can barely turn around. Not for people with claustrophobia. Parking is very limited. You have to wait forever for the elevator. The reception was very friendly and the staff were very accommodating when you spoke to them. The breakfast buffet was varied. However, the food and dishes were on/in wall shelves, which is very impractical as it is difficult to pass each other. The reception/bar/lounge/breakfast room is a large hall and as a result it was very loud and uncomfortable at breakfast. Overall, it was OK for one night. On my next stay in Rappi, I would first look for alternative accommodation, which I also feel would be better value for money.
In St. Gallen, the hotel is very well located, just a few minutes away from the main station.
From my perspective, the service was good. The hotel incorporates some modern technology, including a service bot that delivers drinks directly to your room upon request.
There is a Japanese restaurant within the hotel. While I find it slightly overpriced, this is, of course, a matter of perspective.
For example, if you buy a drink and do not finish it, there is no way to keep it cool, which leads to unnecessary waste. Having a fridge would also allow guests to grab a cold drink whenever they need one.
I also noticed that the room was somewhat noisy due to the construction work around the hotel.
Overall, I would still recommend this hotel for a short business trip to St. Gallen.
Overall facilities very good. Staff also polite. But experience with catering is below expectation.
I had dinner in the hotel on the first night, and choices were limited and expensive. I had a fish but found out half cooked during serving. They just took the remaining portion into the kitchen and re-cook it instead of replacing a new one.
Breakfast on last day was also annoying. Our orders of egg was delayed/forgotten ! After chasing, my wife's hard boil egg order became soft egg. And my fried egg order never came and I just gave up.
I guess visitors of the property typically has a car and I strongly recommend people to have meals outside.
Very comfortable and warm service. The exit of the uzwil train station is. The photos taken on the platform can see most of uzwil.
Free slippers and free water. And the minibar in the lobby (the fruit I ate was fig) is included in the room rate. Room can go to the public balcony where smoking can be done.
The decoration style is relatively new, and the layout of the whole hotel is very artistic. The hotel's several doors to the outdoor are very thick, warm and soundproof. The door to the room in the interior is also thickened.
The lobby is well designed and it is convenient to hang clothes and put luggage. There is a safe in the cabinet (the overall feeling of Switzerland is still very safe, in fact)
Bathrooms and public restrooms provide towels for hand-washing rather than paper towels.
Service: Warm and friendly, remember my name (perhaps relatively few Chinese, easy to remember)
Breakfast is mainly local cold food, no hot milk, but coffee or hot tea. Cheese is delicious.
NewStar Hotel is a fantastic hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy. Staffs are kind and nice. The manager Urs is a real gentlemen. Hope everyone will book this hotel and I'm sure you will have a wonderful journey in St.Gallen!
The hotel is located on the second floor of the car sales area. It is a business hotel with new facilities and very clean. Breakfast is rich in variety and bread is delicious. Everyone is very satisfied after staying
The style of the hotel is modern, the appearance is unremarkable, the hotel is very clean, the bathroom is very good, the decoration of the room is very general, even a bit ugly, especially the curtains. But the important thing is to have air-conditioning. For those traveling to Switzerland at the end of June, air-conditioning is so important. Most hotels in Switzerland do not have air-conditioning. (35 degrees lasts until nine o'clock in the evening, indoors are usually hotter than outdoors.) The breakfast is quite satisfactory and acceptable. But there is no sense of being served by the waiter at all.

Very Good
GGuest UserWe had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, featuring a large living room with a balcony. It was clean and tidy, and we appreciated having two televisions in the room. Although we booked a room with lake views, the view was somewhat limited. On the 3rd floor, you can barely see the lake, and even on the 4th floor, the view is only partial. However, this was not a major issue for us.
One thing to note is that the bathroom walls and doors do not extend fully to the ceiling and floor, leaving gaps at the top and bottom. While this design looks fine, it means there is no proper ventilation in the bathroom, so any odors can easily spread into the room.
The hotel operates on a self check-in system. We contacted the staff before our arrival, and the check-in process went smoothly despite a minor hiccup with the payment. The staff were very responsive and resolved the issue immediately when we called.
For those who want to enjoy the beautiful lake view, there is a podium on the 7th or 8th floor, which is a nice place to take in the surroundings.
However, we were quite disappointed with the breakfast experience. The choices were limited, and the most troubling part was the presence of numerous flies. There were at least 10-20 flies flying around, which made us uncomfortable and led us to leave the restaurant with an unfilled stomach. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps.
Aside from the breakfast issue, the hotel is quiet and lovely.
