I really need to complain about the cleanliness. This hotel had four pillows for two beds, and one of them actually had urine stains on it! It smelled strongly of urine. I went to the front desk to ask for a replacement, but it never came, so I just threw it on the floor – it was unusable! Also, the water quality at the hotel was really bad. I brought my own filter faucet, and the filter element ended up black. I'm so glad I used it! They saw I was staying with a child for two nights, but didn't offer any extra slippers or toothbrushes, which other hotels usually do proactively. Furthermore, our room was on the 7th floor, and it happened to be a Sunday. From 4 or 5 AM, there were prayers, which were extremely loud and made it impossible to sleep. I asked the front desk to change rooms, but they said all the suitable rooms were full and there was nothing they could do. In the end, we had to endure it for two nights. 😓 On the positive side, the hotel's buffet was quite good. There were also some local specialty snacks that I tried. And the swimming pool was an infinity pool with a nice view. However, it was mostly local children swimming, so the adults didn't go in. The gym was also very well-equipped. It was very convenient and close to the largest shopping mall in Surabaya. Downstairs was also a pedestrian street. After dark, there were many places to eat, as well as cafes and bars. It was a nice area to explore. Overall, it was barely acceptable, but some basic standards should be upheld. Urine stains on a pillow are simply unacceptable; it definitely means the pillowcase wasn't changed! I hope the hotel can improve.

This is my second stay at Batiqa. I’d like to share a balanced review for fellow travelers. Pros: Great City View: Staying in Room 809 was a treat because of the city view. It’s a much better experience compared to Room 910, which unfortunately only faces the wall of another building. If you prefer a view, try to request a room on the side that faces the city. Cons: Technical Maintenance: I noticed some issues in Room 809 that weren't present in 910. The shower door doesn't close properly, the water pressure is quite weak, and the hot water isn't hot enough (I had to turn the lever fully to the left just to get a decent temperature). Privacy Disturbance: A bit disappointed with the unsolicited promotional calls. Both during my first and second stays, the hotel staff called the room around 18:00 WIB to offer massage or restaurant services. This is quite intrusive when you're trying to rest after a long day. Verdict: The hotel is decent, but they really need to improve their room maintenance and stop the promotional calls to ensure guest privacy. If you stay here, Room 809 has the view, but check the bathroom fixtures immediately.

The location was perfect for us, as we really enjoy exploring a new city on foot. There are many eateries within walking distance of the hotel, including the famous Tunjungan No. 39 restaurant, as well as major shopping malls like Tunjungan Plaza. The service provided by the staff was also excellent, from the front desk to the cleaning crew and even the security guard. We will definitely come back again.

This was our second time staying at this hotel, and once again it exceeded our expectations in the best possible way. We arrived shortly after 12pm, fully prepared to leave our bags and wander around until the standard 3pm check-in time. To our pleasant surprise, the team offered us an early check-in without hesitation — a gesture that felt like an unexpected upgrade to our entire day. It’s the little things that truly make a big difference. We stayed in a Standard Deluxe room, and it was more than spacious enough for the both of us. Comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, it provided exactly the kind of restful environment we needed. It’s always a good sign when you enter the room and immediately feel like you can take a nap without questioning your life choices. Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. The spread was impressive, offering a good mix of local dishes, international options, and even Japanese selections. From savoury bites to sweet treats, there was something for every mood and every appetite. If breakfast is the “make or break” of a hotel stay, then this hotel definitely understood the assignment. I would also like to give a special mention to Rusli at the reception. His warm hospitality and professionalism helped set the tone for our stay right from the moment we stepped in. Another heartfelt shout-out goes to Igrima from the restaurant. Although she is still a trainee, her dedication, attentiveness, and genuine passion for service shone through clearly. She handled her duties with the confidence of someone who has worked in the industry for years — a true rising star in the team. Overall, our stay was memorable, comfortable, and pleasantly seamless. With consistent service and thoughtful touches like these, I’m confident that our third stay is not just likely — it’s inevitable. We’ll definitely be back again!

Breakfast are best. The staff (Bu Nia, Pak Andik, the chef, and all others) at breakfast are most friendly and helpful. The service is a top notch.

Surabaya is a lot of fun, and this hotel is fantastic! The service is excellent, even better than some five-star hotels I've stayed at back home. They even helped me with my luggage, which was a nice touch. The staff are friendly, and the rooms are spacious and quite clean for Surabaya standards.

Location is second to none, near to Tunjungan Plaza. Service is amazing, I loved the short hair lady with glasses at the recep. She is so warm and friendly. Indigo's staff is also lovely and attentive. Room is really nice. Big bathroom, hot showers. Good quality toilet paper (always a sign if the management cares). You can relax and trust everything works. Pool is big and the water is warm. But the immediate sides of the pool is a bit dirty. The chef here is superb. Their soto soups are out of this world. And almost everything on the breakfast buffet is so good. Except the coffee. That's pretty weak and not showing off true Indonesian coffee. The cocktails here are so good too, great taste and strong as well. Although I didn't like the one with creme de menthe. Heritage tour at 2pm and 4pm. Try to go. It's cool. .

Not really satisfied, service could be better. Reached at 4pm (indoesia time) to check in, was asked to wait as the room is not ready. Waited for 10mins which is okay. Card only given 1 - not convenient when we arranged inhouse massage as one of us need to stay in the room with the massuer while my husband went down to pick up another masseur and the room went off pitch black. Breakfast - eggs ran out by 9am, and was told that there will be no more eggs Checkout day, called reception around 10am - request for additional mineral bottle for drinking but was told that we are checking out today and we would need to purchase the bottle. Checkout - was running 5 minutes late, reception already called asking to check out now. Bed and pillows are okay and comfortable to sleep. There’s international plug so you can use if you’re using 3 pin plug. Location is perfect, just across the Tunjungan Plaza but nothing nice to shop. Just boring. Service could be better, but definitely not returning for us.

Room was comfy, clean, and smelled nice when I walked in. Big smart TV, Amenities were all there, nothing missing. There’s a bathtub which you can use to relax while watching tv, and the view from the room was spectacular. Bed was big and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, everything went smoothly. Would definitely stay here again.

The best hotel we stayed in Surabaya, conveniently located beside Tunjungan plaza with many restaurants and stores. Walking distance around 5 mins have many chic and hipster cafes worth visiting. Hotel room was clean and very spacious. All the staff was very friendly and accomodating. The best part was the buffet breakfast, with many arrays of foods and live stations. With all the delicous food and warm staff at the restaurant, we really enjoyed the whole breakfast. Highly recommemded!
