This is a great option if you want a budget option that is still reasonably comfortable and clean. You get a physical key as the room key and there and then you know that it is a dated hotel. And that also means anyone can access the hotel room floors, and thankfully, there was no security issues throughout our stay.
Besides that, the hotel room amenities are acceptable and we enjoyed using the bathroom supplies very much. We booked the Large Twin Room which also means our bath area and toilet are in separate rooms, which is great. The bathroom has the traditional bath house concept with the stool and low mirror, which made our bath time fun for the kids and interesting for adults.
We like that fresh towels were provided daily even if we put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door knob. Housekeeping would leave the items in a plastic bag outside your door, including bottles of mineral water. Yes, bottled water is provided for free here, which is perfect.
The hotel staff were very friendly. Lifts were spacious and worked perfectly. There were no bugs in the room. Our non-smoking room also smelled fine - no odd or bad smell/odour. The location is also easy for taxi drivers to find.
There's also a Family Mart and 7-11 less than 5 minutes away. While you're there, check out Yakinikukotora, just 5 minutes away - a great place to go for dinners and suppers; I believe they close at 3am.
All in all, it was a pleasant stay.
Hotel is new, room and facilities are fantastic. View from the roof terrace is great! Also thankful for the free shuttle bus to the train station.
We have the dinner and breakfast package. Restaurant seems under staffed. We have to wait for empty plates to be replenised in buffet area. During breakfast time, there is long queue for food and often empty plates.
Excellent location, right next to Nara JR Station, which is super convenient for travelers with luggage. After dropping off our bags, we easily walked through Sanjo-dori to Kofuku-ji Temple and Nara Park, passing by various shops and restaurants along the way. The hotel's self check-in and check-out machines were very efficient, even printing our breakfast vouchers automatically. The room size was just right, and the facilities were quite new. Highly recommend this hotel!
My best appraise is for the services in both of reception and restaurant, especially the staffs from Nepal and Max from Indonesia. Many thanks for the sincere service and patience to my naughty boy, he missed you a lot and he promised to come again next year to see you then. For me, the soundproofing effectiveness is really not friendly, I woke up by the car noises outside many time in the niteš
A question to think about, āWhat makes a hotel a luxury one?ā
To me, itās luxury because of the hospitality of the staff, quality of the property and the food they provided totally exceed travellersā expectations, and as a result, we would love to pay more for the experience.
Some staff really tried their very best to help me during my stay while some just didnāt. Upon arrival, I tried to communicate with the staff that Iād like to cancel my third nightās dinner because of the change of my plan. At first, I booked six meals in total and Iād only want to cancel one dinner and they said I needed to pay 100% for the cancelled meal because they have already bought the ingredients. Okay, I tried to understand that because they had already taken away my credit card and thereās nothing I could do about that and I thought it must be a very nice meal and thatās why they insisted that. Disappointingly, the portion was so small and paying the same amount of money I could get so much better food in č¹å¤č«¾é or any other five star onsen hotels in Japan. As a result, I went to bed feeling hungry and eating the snacks I bought for myself :( The food portions are like a bento instead of a proper meal. )
Also, the Western style breakfast was so overpriced and the avocado in the omelette was not fresh at all.
One more thing to note is that the complimentary champagne service they provided to their guests. Itās a nice experience but maybe Iām just a lady travelling alone and I couldnāt speak Japanese at all, the waitress didnāt serve me the same way as she served other people in the cafe. When all of them got two glasses of free drinks, one cocktail and one champagne, she only gave me one champagne and didnāt offer me the cocktail. And the day after, there was a nice staff who served me properly and I finally realized that I am entitled to two drinks.
(Sigh)The experience was like buying a Chanel bag. The bag was pricey but the chain of the bag just suddenly fall apart
while you are using it for the very first time. My advice is: Donāt use their catering services especially for the in-room dining plan. There are so many better choices out there in the city. The room and the service of the staff are great tho.
