The location is good for the people who will take train in early morning. I would say it is a satisfied place to live, with a huge common area.

The hotel has a beautiful location. The antique building has been kept in excellent condition. We chose to stay in the Feature Double Room-old Hall. The room was very spacious, with seating area. A coffee machine was also available. Cool drinks in the fridge. Breakfast was delicious, individually cooked, with a wide choice. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this hotel

Hotel was lovely ,room was clean but a little small with no drawer space ! Room could benefit from more USB sockets as it had 2 but only one worked! Door lock failed but was quickly resolved by maintanence, staff are very friendly . Pool area was clean and we would return to the hotel 🙂

Stayed in a twin with my son for the football for convenience, only one of everything ( towel / cup etc ) as in they wrongly assumed 1 person was staying there. Very , very average warm / cold breakfast was served the next day. For the money it's a good location and free parking.

Fantastic welcome at the front. Car parking not great. Ncp car park full so go for valet parking if possible. The Rise restaurant is recommended but go up the stairs for tables as the directions aren't great and I sat down stairs waiting for a concierge before I explored exactly where the restaurant was. If you sit in the bar area waiting to be served be prepared to wait for a while. All staff I interacted with were polite and very respectful especially in the restaurant.

Stayed one night because of the marathon the next day. The staffs were friendly and procedures like Checkin are convenient. Great location, close to the station and hotel. However, the inability of the air conditioner to heat up made the room less comfortable. But I stillI had a good rest here and set a PB in the race the next day, so it was a good stay overall.

Nice hotel room with a nice view. Only downside was the parking space was quite small. Finding parking was difficult. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much.

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a great place, The aesthetic is perfect for the building. If you are disabled you may want to give this hotel a miss, as even if you specifically ask to be near a lift when you book they may put you in a room with no lift access at all, and the staff are not very helpful or accommodating even when you have a disability that is affected by stairs. The queue to check in was over 50 minutes even though we tried to check in much later than 3pm. The hotel has a lot of stairs, the room was not spotlessly clean but adequate and came with all the basic requirements. The view from the windows was great. Overall this is an ok budget hotel that is only suitable if you are able bodied and can deal with a large number of stairs.

GGuest UserPerfect location for a sightseeing trip to York, with car parking. The hotel was gorgeous, beautiful room (we had blenheim suite), huge copper bath in the bedroom (bring your own bubble bath!), super comfy bed, beautifully decorated room. Reception staff lovely and very knowledgeable of local area. Lovely bar too with friendly staff, a range of boardgames available which was fun. Breakfast room had a great Churchill theme ( brilliant top/bowler hat lighting). Would definitely recommend. Thank you for a really lovely stay.

LLouise HikkThe hotel is perfectly situated for exploring sights of Harrogate everything very nearby! From checking in and our room available early with welcome cookies which were warm and amazing to checkout the staff could not be more helpful! The room was on the third floor clean, tidy and well presented. The gym and spa facilities were all good and nice to use and relax especially on a Sunday evening! The breakfast was buffet with a selection of hot and cold options the parcel machine was my favourite fresh pancakes which were delicious! This hotel is huge but it's well maintained clean tidy and such an enjoyable experience for our anniversary!

GGuest UserI stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel. I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax. The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting. I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours. Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again.

GGuest UserGreat value room in a lovely rural location, reasonably close to York. Receptionist was friendly and helpful. I had a good quiet night’s sleep. Evening meal in the restaurant was fine, but a bit overpriced for what it was and service in the restaurant was friendly but slow. I would definitely stay again though if I was in the area.

GGuest UserBooked to attend an exam nearby (5 min walk). Room nice and big, had everything we needed. Check in check out quick and easy, parking £8 for 24 hours. I asked for a quiet room but definitely was not quiet there was a private function going on with very loud music which didn’t with being prepared and well rested for an early morning exam on Saturday.
