The hotel is in an ideal location for the spa, town and beach. We arrived earlier than planned and although our room wasn’t ready we were able to leave our bags until check in time. We had completed the online check in and so we just had to collect keys from reception. The room was clean and smelt fresh. It had tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge which was a bonus. The bathroom was clean with both a bath and a shower. There was also complementary toiletries which we didn’t use as we had our own. The bed was huge and very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. There was a heater and a fan in the room as well as radiators.,

Absolutely appalling . I’ve never seen a room so dirty in my life ( please see pictures. ) I suffer with asthma and the room was so bad it actually set of an attack . With little apology or a refund . The door also didn’t lock and the bed was stained . Not only that , the new manager there uses to run the Norbrick hotel and he stole my partners 750 pound coat when we stayed there , so imagine our shock seeing him at that hotel . We are deeply upset and disappointed.

The royal hotel is absolutely beautiful at Christmas time, we've stayed at this hotel about 5 times over the years, the only thing we found shocking was the price of the drinks at the bar,it cost us £19.60 for 2 double vodkas ana a mixer, really over priced

The hotel is very large, so I understand it can be challenging for the cleaning staff to maintain cleanliness everywhere. However, I noticed that the pictures online look a bit nicer (spotless) compared to the actual condition. Room 244 had an extra heater, which I really appreciated — it was the best part of the stay, as the room stayed warm and comfortable during the night. That said, there was some dust on the bedside table, and the toilet was not very clean. This was actually the first time I needed to clean the toilet seat myself in a hotel. I also noticed that some rooms seem much nicer and better maintained than others. The staff service was okay, and I found the breakfast very convenient — it saved me time before going out to visit places.

It is a traditional luxury hotel, with good location and cost-effective. I saw a new couples' wedding at the hotel entrance. Staff are friendly and helpful. Although this is an old hotel, no air conditioning, a little warm in summer. Generally a good hotel for couples or families spent a holiday at the seaside.

Great room, comfy beds and easy check in. Breakfast was delicious. When we came in we asked for a biscuits with our tea and we only got one each but it was perfect. Quiet hotel to say it was full and lively.
