"The hotel is located in the centre of the Val d'Orcia. Montalcino is located up to the centre and has a beautiful view. Very relaxing. Excellent service at both the reception and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The kitchen is also available for cooking. We have dined at the restaurant of the structure, a perfect service, the only thing is the menu. We have eaten everything but found excess acidity in the dishes, and we think it can be useful to balance the taste of the dishes but without exceeding it. Almost all the dishes were very acid, if it's a taste that doesn't like, the client may not eat anything. My advice is: on 7 you may be bringing a couple of dishes with this taste and others with different tastes"

GGuest UserThis hotel's rooms are incredibly beautiful and clean! They provide a wide array of disposable amenities, including slippers and body lotion, which is quite rare for European hotels. Our room even had a small balcony with a lovely view of the pool downstairs and the surrounding trees.
While breakfast wasn't entirely to my taste, the variety was impressive, even featuring honey with a honeycomb.
The front desk offers complimentary luggage storage, which was very helpful.
A thoughtful touch was the free long-handled umbrellas available for guests, especially since it happened to be raining during our stay.
The only real downside is that, despite being close to Florence train station in a straight line, the walk from the station to the hotel is actually quite long. Plus, exiting the Florence station involves going down a set of stairs, which is very inconvenient with large luggage. This made the walk to the hotel feel even longer, especially with intersections where poor signal made maps unclear and it was easy to get lost.
Nonetheless, I highly recommend this hotel. The internal environment is very well-maintained, and the front desk staff are patient and polite. If I have the chance to visit Florence again, I would definitely choose this hotel. The price is truly excellent value for money.
GGuest UserThe service is very good, very clean and tidy, the doorman is very enthusiastic, and greets you every time you go in and out~ The room is clean and the bathroom is large, the location is good, and the pasta in the restaurant opposite is delicious. The rooftop terrace is beautiful, but you can only go up from one elevator. The other elevator goes to the suite on the 6th floor~ I didn't meet other people on the terrace, it was quiet and comfortable
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is incredibly close to the Santa Maria Novella train station, which is very convenient. It's also within walking distance of the city center and other attractions.
The hotel's decor is elegant and charming, with a classic, antique feel. The front desk staff and restaurant staff were all warm and friendly. There's an elevator, but each one is quite small, only fitting two people at a time. However, the stairs are easily accessible too. The carpeted floors mean that footsteps don't disturb others.
Upon check-in during Christmas, we received local specialty Christmas cookies (Prato almond biscuits) and a greeting card, which was a lovely touch.
On New Year's Eve, there was a harp performance in the lobby, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
The hotel breakfast was abundant and delicious!
The room was very spacious; there was plenty of room even after placing our luggage. The hotel mentioned it had been renovated in 2025, and I really liked the floral wallpaper and bedspread. The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, providing a 2-in-1 shower gel/shampoo and conditioner. The staff noticed we were two women and thoughtfully replaced our towels with two pink ones the next day – very attentive service.
The air conditioning worked excellently, keeping the room very warm. The window overlooked a small inner courtyard, not the street, so it was quite quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
GGuest UserThe decor is like a guesthouse from the 1990s, but the price is like a five-star hotel. The location is excellent, behind the Bargello Museum, and within a 10-minute walk of any attraction. However, it's very old and shabby, and the shampoo and conditioner are terrible.
GGuest UserThe room was a bit basic, like a budget hotel in China. I booked a single room and the bed was only 80 cm wide. It was quiet though, and had a small balcony. The air conditioning/heating was too dry and couldn't be adjusted, so my throat was really dry at night and I had to get up for water. The bathroom fan was very loud, so I had to turn it off. For over a thousand (presumably currency units) without breakfast, it felt really expensive for this standard. But I guess everything near tourist attractions in Florence is pricey. It's about a 20-minute bus ride or 35-minute walk to the sights. I'd generally recommend staying closer to the Duomo to save time, as the price difference isn't huge. Do note that some B&Bs don't have elevators, which can be tough with a lot of luggage. This place, however, does have one.
GGanjuezhuyiThe hotel is clean and tidy as a whole, the room facilities are complete, and the stay is more comfortable, but the front desk staff is relatively cold and the communication is not smooth when checking in. There is a certain distance from the downtown area of Siena, and travel needs to plan transportation in advance.
GGuest UserI booked total 14 days for a same room, I just request make up room services 2 times only, that why my room face tissue and toilet tissue use finished, so I ask for more 2 boxes face tissue and 2 rolls toilet tissue, but a male room service staff don’t give and say need exchange one box face tissues for one roll toilet tissue and then I walk in complain this case with reception female staff, finally she give me back 2 rolls toilet tissue, but her attitude so bad sit say me wrong use words describe toilet tissue only, may I ask all room customer if case like this make sense or not?
Original I gave them full mark comment for this hotel, now I trade back my original comment and give them lower mark comment first until after 2 days when I leave this hotel and they do back good attitude and improve for their service and then I will give back them good comments!
I am very easy handle person just say actually things only!
GGuest UserThe best hotel we have stayed at.
Its quiet luxury in terms of service - the hotel staff at all levels are down to earth and treat everyone equally and kindly and their service does leave you wanting for anything.
It was worth every dollar.
Paul, their head concierge, is beyond exceptional. Provided a lot of help with day trips and recommendations that we took and loved. They even helped with a car rental that was dropped and picked up at the hotel. And Paul also came and picked us up when the taxis were on strike for a night (so kind).
The rooms are immaculate and extremely clean. They are beautifully decorated and spacious.
The library is a cozy place to eat breakfast and read or have a quiet moment to yourself. and the grounds are beautifully kept.
We also went during their shoulder season so it was quieter - not sure what summer might be like there
I hope to definitely go back there.
NNadezdaSWe stayed at this place for the 2nd time (first time was right before the pandemic) and I should say that the hotel successfully keeps up to its standards.
Rooms are clean and spacious, with almost everything you may need (except the iron).
The SPA area is fine, but better go there around noon before the new wave of the guests arrives.
Breakfasts are superb with a wide choice of hot dishes, pastry and drinks. That is really a great choice for Italy I'd say (sorry, Italy)))
The hotel territory is well kept. The sandy beach is right across the road.
The only minor thing which was a bit disturbing was the lack of toiletries. Nail kits, sewing kits and other things used to be available without any requests. Now you get the very basics and have to call if you need some extra. That's absolutely fine but.. feels like ”let's cut the cost” sign :)
But anyway, I loved the stay and will def be back some time.
