Great location, convenient transportation, and lots of food options nearby. They upgraded my room and gave me two days of complimentary breakfast. The hallway smells lovely. However, the cleanliness needs improvement – there were hairs on the nightstand, cobwebs under the lamp, and the bathroom drain cover wasn't cleaned during daily housekeeping.

Shangri-La Hotel Hohhot | A Fantastic Stay for Families during May Day Holiday
This was my first time staying at a Shangri-La, and compared to my previous experience at Hyatt Regency Jinan, the Shangri-La Hohhot really surprised me in a good way.
**Location & Surroundings**
The hotel is conveniently located between two subway stations, Daxue Xilu and Zhongshan Lu, making getting around super easy. Zhongshan Lu station exits directly into the Mo'er Underground Shopping Street, and there's a delicious bakery right outside the exit. Daxue Xilu is next to Wuxiang City. Across from the hotel, there are two local eateries, 'Chuanshuo Bingzhu Yang' (Legendary Ice-Boiled Lamb) and 'Tiemao Kaorou' (Iron Hat BBQ), which feel authentic and not overly commercialized. Besides a roughly 40-yuan taxi ride to Chilechuan, most other attractions were only about ten yuan away.
**Room**
The room wasn't huge, but it was very well-designed. The space between the bed and the TV was wide enough, so no tripping hazards. The 1.98m king-size bed was incredibly comfortable. The air conditioning was the best part – much better than the Hyatt's, with fresh, circulating air that wasn't stuffy. The floor-to-ceiling window offered an amazing view. From the 16th floor, I could see the stadium, and Hohhot people are clearly very active – there were people running and playing football morning and evening. Further ahead was a park with people boating and even a Ferris wheel that lit up at night. In the distance, we could also see the illuminated Bao'erhan Pagoda. The windowsill was wide enough to sit on, and there were two additional sofas, making it a perfect spot for having tea, dining, and enjoying the scenery.
**Pool & Gym**
I really liked that the changing rooms had a dry sauna. There was also a hot tub with water hot enough. The pool was divided into a kids' pool and an adult pool, both quite spacious. My husband said the gym was also good – not too crowded and peaceful. My daughter, who usually prefers to play on her phone in the room, actually joined me for sauna, hot tub, and swimming this time. She even wrote 'Very good hotel' with a smiley face on a comment card, showing she genuinely enjoyed it.
**Service**
From the moment we got out of the taxi and staff helped with our luggage to checking in at the front desk, everyone was incredibly proactive and enthusiastic. The lobby had a subtle, pleasant soap scent. The hotel also featured two decorative yurt-like setups, which were fun for photos.
**Robot Food Delivery**
This deserves special praise. We order takeout frequently, and the robot could deliver from both its upper and lower compartments. It would call our room when it arrived, and we just had to open the door to pick up our food. Only once was the robot too busy, and the concierge delivered directly to our room. We never experienced takeout being carelessly left in the lobby, unlike at the Beijing Noulan Hotel where we stayed before. The streamlined service at a big hotel like this really gives you peace of mind.
**Minor Regret**
The only downside was that when I wanted to take a bath around 10 PM, the hot water wasn't very hot, even at its maximum. It seems like the central water supply might get overloaded during peak usage hours.
**Value for Money**
We booked this during the May Day holiday for less than 500 yuan a night, a price you couldn't even dream of in Beijing. On our last day, we stayed in the pool until 2 PM before reluctantly checking out.
**Overall:** Great views, excellent service, reliable robot food delivery, and the kids loved it. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

Bad experience. The entrance automatic door closed suddenly and hurt my shoulder. At check in, the staff asked me to do the registration for them -- it's their job, not the customer! Design in the room was stupid -- faucet design is confusing and the hot/cold water is reversed. The ”city view” room with bathtub is stupid -- the view is only an ugly building across the street, and you need to close the curtains if you take a bath, so what's the point? Also the ”art” is so bad and tasteless. The light from the toilet is so bright, I had to unplug it to sleep... So many dumb problems here 😔

My stay at Shangri-La Baotou far exceeded my expectations! Even before checking in, I received a call from the hotel arranging the room according to my preferences. Upon arrival, the concierge proactively helped with luggage, and the front desk staff were warm and meticulous, introducing the hotel's restaurants and fitness center. The room was clean and hygienic! I've had their shaomai before and it was good, but this time I was particularly impressed by the new mutton buns at breakfast – absolutely amazing! My family really enjoyed the freshly fried dough sticks. Overall, the entire check-in process was excellent, and the hotel's location is superb! It's only about a 15-minute drive from the highway exit! Finally, a special shout-out to Avila Wang.

This hotel in Inner Mongolia is more than just a place to stay; it's a cozy haven, a true 'nest' or 'sanctuary'. The ambiance throughout, from the lobby to the restaurant, guest rooms, and all the little bars, is warm, bright yet soft, and embodies a humble pride. The staff are polite, enthusiastic, and highly professional. My extreme satisfaction is a direct result of their hundred percent effort! I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I'm in need of accommodation!

I'm a tourist from Macau. A friend originally booked a five-star hotel for me, but I saw good reviews and decided to give it a try. I even had to pay the original hotel some compensation. I was worried about losing both sides if it turned out badly, but thankfully, I made the right choice.
Although the lobby of this hotel isn't large and lacks the grandeur and elegance of a grand lobby or fountain, it's youthful and stylish. It offers welcome drinks, vending machines, a water dispenser, and many thoughtful amenities for guests, like eye masks and facial cleanser...too many!
The best part was the breakfast, featuring abalone, cheesecakes, roasted lamb, and other local Inner Mongolian dishes. It made our trip feel special. The food wasn't extensive, but I felt it had everything you could want, catering to a wide range of tastes. Fruits (dumplings, dragon fruit, and cantaloupe) were available, along with vegetarian options like lettuce, wax gourd, and steak. Hot dishes included dried meat noodles and instant wontons. There was also afternoon tea and a late-night snack, and the kids could enjoy all-you-can-eat popsicles!
The lounge has arcade machines and X-Box video games, perfect for families. Room supplies are delivered by robot!
The room was a good size, with separate wet and dry areas and electronic fogging glass! This is usually found in high-end hotels. It also had a high-powered hair dryer, and the low-voltage electrical system was controlled by Xiaodu Smart. The only drawback was that the showerhead in the shower wasn't very sensitive when adjusting the temperature. It stuck at 44 degrees Celsius and then dropped to 38 degrees Celsius. Also, the water level in the washbasin bounced around when in use, easily spilling onto the floor.
Overall, I've stayed in many five-star hotels, but this budget hotel was incredibly thoughtful and had a very high quality. I'd definitely choose it if it were anywhere else in the country!

The hotel with the best service I have ever stayed in!! Roses were given on the day of check-in. The room was very clean and hygienic, very warm, with sufficient heating and two cups of warm milk. The toilet had a disposable toilet seat, the shower was good and the water was hot, so I decided to renew my reservation. On the second night, I found that the room cleaning staff sent me brown sugar ginger tea to warm my stomach. I would like to praise the front desk and cleaning staff!! I highly recommend staying in this hotel~

I chose the Atour Hotel Kuanzhao Temple in Hohhot for my trip! The location is truly superb. It's a five-minute walk to Dazhao Temple and a seven-minute walk to Kuanzhao Temple's food street, making it incredibly convenient for eating local specialties and browsing snacks. Dazhao Temple and the Grand Mosque are also within walking distance, making sightseeing very hassle-free.
The hotel itself is clean and elegant, with spacious and tidy rooms, comfortable bedding, and complete facilities. The front desk service was warm and attentive, check-in was efficient, and the robot delivery service was very convenient. The breakfast selection was plentiful, featuring local delicacies like lamb offal and shumai, a truly satisfying experience. It's perfect for exploring the ancient city and enjoying delicious food, offering excellent value for money. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Hohhot!
Five-star review, absolutely! The front desk staff were incredibly efficient and welcoming during check-in. The room was spotless, with no strange odors, and the bedding was wonderfully soft and comfortable. The soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The bathroom had plenty of hot water, and all the facilities were complete and worked perfectly. The location is very convenient, with great amenities nearby, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of fresh options. Overall, my experience exceeded expectations. It offers great value for money and is my top choice for business trips or travel. I'll definitely be staying here again!

Traveling to Inner Mongolia for the May Day holiday, I stayed in Hohhot for the first two nights. The hotel staff were very friendly, and the room was quiet and clean. Since I rented a car, I could park it in the multi-story parking lot right outside the entrance. I chose a lake view room, and the scenery outside the window was quite nice. I especially loved the fragrance in the hotel lobby. The only downside was that there were too few laundry rooms; I had to queue all evening just to wash one item, ugh.

GGuanrenlaoyuWhen traveling to Hohhot, I chose to stay at Weilai Hotel. It's incredibly convenient to get around, and the front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful. Ffp1838As expected of a state guesthouse, the courtyard is spacious and the facilities are excellent, all in excellent condition. The shower has a large flow of water. The bedding is high-quality. The breakfast is particularly good, with a strong Mongolian flavor, including milk tea, mutton steamed buns, mutton offal, and a variety of dairy products.

JJdalajiaoThe B&B owner was incredibly hospitable, and to my surprise, the room was spotless. Even though it snowed the next day, the room stayed warm – truly excellent. We had dinner at their place, and every dish was delicious. The 'shou ba rou' (hand-grabbed meat), 'ban you mian' (mixed oat noodles), and lamb noodle soup were all very popular, but the milk tea was especially outstanding – the best we've had on our entire trip. There was even a bonfire party in the evening; despite the cold, everyone's enthusiasm kept the chill away. We also got to set off fireworks, and the owner offered very fair prices. The kids absolutely loved it! We went during the May Day holiday, so the grass hadn't turned green yet and it was still a bit cold. The owner recommended visiting after June 20th, so we might have to go back in the summer.

GGuest UserThis stay was a pleasant surprise! The room was spacious and bright, and the bedding was incredibly soft, like sleeping on clouds. The mattress provided just the right amount of support, and with the excellent soundproofing from the double-glazed windows, I slept soundly until morning. The bathroom had a perfect wet/dry separation, and the hot water supply was ample and consistent. The branded toiletries were high quality, and the towels and bath sheets were thick and soft. Every corner of the room was spotlessly clean, and amenities like a smart TV, high-speed WiFi, and bedside charging ports were all readily available. The attention to detail truly impressed me.
BBaozi88888888The hotel location is convenient and near touristic sites. The staff is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is great and has tasty Mongolian milk tea and delicious Shaomai. The coffee machine at the reception is free of access and very tasty. A very nice stay, it is the second time I have stayed in this hotel, and next time I come to Hohhot I will here again for sure! 我很满意!

GGuest UserIt’s my second time to stay at the Orange Hotel. The environment is very beautiful and my children like it very much. There is one thing that is very inappropriate. My child peed the bed. I’m very sorry. I heard that I didn’t complain at all and didn’t mention it when I checked out. Avoid it. Saved me the embarrassment, thank you very much. And there is no extra charge. The service is really great. The children are very happy and so are the adults. The parking lot in front of the door is very convenient for parking. I like it very much.
SShizimgThe room was clean and tidy, with a modern and minimalist decor. The surrounding area has convenient transportation, with both bus and subway stations within walking distance. The front desk staff had an excellent and patient service attitude. I'm a returning guest and highly recommend this place.

Perfect
TTsomo TsomikI’ve booked this hotel based on the review left by previous guests. It’s a quite nice hotel, offerred afternoon tea and breakfast. Rooms did not reek of tobacco smoke which was really good. Towels, bedsheets clean and white. Mattress is comfortable. Buffet breakfast had good selection. Front desk spoke english and mongolian. location is a bit far from everything but front desk will help you with taxi so no problem.
A couple of feedback:
- hotel did not provide bathrobes
- make forks and knives (cutleries) available. Not every non-chinese is good with chopsticks
Now, a few things for the hotel administration to fix:
- we booked a family room. During the day it was quite nice until the night we wanted to sleep. A ***** lighting under the hand wash sink was flashing on and off the whole night. The light will be on for around 30 seconds and turn off for 3 second and again turn back on 😭😭😭 and that continued the whole night!! That impacted our sleep quite badly. Hotel needs to fix that lighting! I told the front desk although not sure if it was taken into account as we were checking out.
- afternoon tea seemed like a nice gesture. We were told it’s available from 2-8 PM. We went there around 4pm and snacks there were not refreshed. There were a some dried up cookie, a slice of cake that seemed like someone eaten a half of it, a couple of ripened tangerines nothing else. But had a good choice of tea, coffee and juices. Although offered for free, it seemed like we’re on someone’s leftovers and it didn’t feel nice.
AAnonymous UserOverall, the hotel was clean, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was easy to find with excellent amenities nearby. There's a pharmacy just to the left when you exit, and an internal passage leads to a supermarket. The breakfast offered a wide variety of options and there was plenty of seating.
Underground heated parking (essential for cold regions): When we booked, the heated parking was complimentary with our stay, unlike other hotels in Hailar that charge extra. All we needed to do was register our license plate number at the front desk, and we could access the heated garage from the hotel's left side. During winter, spots can be a bit tight, but there are always enough available!
