The hotel staff were all very polite, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. They even noted my request and gave me a quiet room with no noise. The breakfast was decent, and the coffee was strong and really woke me up. There's a mall right to the left when you exit, and a supermarket downstairs. Across the street, there's a 7-Eleven, and GAMA also has a supermarket downstairs. It's a moderate distance to tourist attractions, about a 20-minute walk, and about a 30-minute drive to the airport if there's no traffic. Little India is nearby, so there are quite a few Indian people around. I'm not used to it since I don't know much about the culture, but we mostly kept to ourselves. However, after each room cleaning, we'd find a few long hairs that weren't ours, which I hope they can improve upon.

Nice hotel that comes with an infinity pool just suitable for guests, spacious room (double twin beds), quiet & tasteful deco of cafe & co-working space, It's nice to include a welcome drink (coffee, tea, orange juice to choose from). The bar was good too, we enjoyed our drinks at the open area instead. Check-in & check-out were fast & efficient. Hotel staffs were friendly & welcoming. The only downside was the laundry area, 2 washing machines & 2 dryers. However when we went to use, only 1 washing machine was working but both the dryer not quite functioning after used by the guest b4 us. So, we ended up did our laundry at a nearby dolby.

I was upgraded to a Deluxe room but it was at the extreme corner next to the service staircase. Grateful for the upgraded but the room conditions were not up to par . Hair in shower room , the shower holder fell when I was taking it out and it dropped on my toe . Hence the blue black toe shown ( hehe ) . I could not sleep the whole night as the air con was very very noisy even when I lower the adjustment. The day curtain was torn . I sound it out to reception the next morning to see whether they can change my room as I was staying for another 2 nights . They did and I reckoned it was another up grade as now the room has a standing shower room . In the other previous room , you have to stand in the bath tub to shower and for a man of 65 , it is a bit tricky . The hotel really needs an up grade too . It is in a good location and CAT bus is nearby . The CAT shuttle is a complimentary bus that moves around the town area . The saving grace for my trip was that the staff was up to par and reacted quickly . Well done on this . Now , I wait for my toe to heal .

The room is spacious, and Harun always does an excellent job cleaning it; his service is enthusiastic. Facilities: Good. Service: Very good, though it's a shame they don't allow a slightly later checkout 😂. They require checkout at 11 AM, and by 12 PM, they were already calling us to hurry up and leave. They're quite strict about not allowing late check-outs, probably because rooms are in high demand during peak season. Environment: Very quiet, you can't hear any motorbike noise, and it's convenient for getting to all the attractions.

The location is fantastic, right by two large shopping malls, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient—just a three to four-minute walk away. While you'll need a taxi to get to the old town attractions, it means the area is much quieter. There's a Hua Yang restaurant right under the nearby Gurney Plaza, and the wait times are much shorter than in Kuala Lumpur, so I finally got to eat there! The facilities are a bit lacking and can't compare to five-star hotels in China. However, the service is excellent, and they even offer a shuttle bus. Breakfast was a bit disappointing; they start clearing up right on time, and the variety isn't huge. Overall, the service was very good and proactive.

The location is excellent! Buses like the 101, 201, and 202 can take you to the ferry terminal, while the 204 goes to Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Temple. There's also a free shuttle bus stop right across the street (be aware it's a one-way service). Most attractions are quite close, with the exception of Chew Jetty, the Beach Street Fire Station, the mural street, and the Gurney Drive Clock Tower, which are a bit further (over 20 minutes walk). Several Michelin-starred eateries are within a 10-minute walk. However, Penang gets very hot, so it's best to stick to indoor activities between 11 AM and 4 PM. The hotel service is great. They can provide change for smaller denominations, and housekeeping is very prompt. The purified water dispenser in the hallway perfectly refills the water bottle in the room twice. The complimentary iced drinks are a thoughtful touch. Breakfast is abundant, and I highly recommend the roti canai. Considering the prime location, it offers excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

The location is superb – bustling yet quiet. It's right near the汕头街 food street, and a 10-minute walk to Komtar, which is a major bus hub. There's even a free shuttle bus to explore George Town. The breakfast isn't extensive, but it's enough to fill you up!

Location around 1.5 km away from many tourist attractions, like upside museum, UNESCO heritage sites etc.. we had to grab taxi everytime. There is a pool on 1st floor, big enough for children to swim around. Its from 7 am to 7 pm. But to be honest, it could be until 9 pm, kind of strict rules. Check-in counter staff was not that welcoming / nor smile, neither kind words/ But cleaning staff and security was kind, smiling every time as we enter the hotel.

The hotel's facilities are a bit dated. The cabinets, doors, and bathroom counter in the room all show their age, and there's no magnifying mirror at the vanity. This likely relates to when it was last renovated; it's not very stylish, but it is clean, which is good. The service, however, is excellent, meeting five-star hotel standards without a doubt. They provide disposables, complimentary bottled water, welcome fruits, a breakfast buffet, and executive lounge access (depending on room type). The restaurant's decor has also been updated. I had a great experience with one particular staff member. I had booked an executive room, and upon check-in, the front desk assigned me a connecting room without informing me. The soundproofing was terrible; I could clearly hear people showering and talking in the next room, which severely disrupted my sleep. After I explained the situation to the front desk, they worked hard to switch me to another room of the same type, which was much better and very comfortable. I'd like to especially commend Hanz at the front desk for their prompt action in changing my room, which allowed me to get a good night's sleep. Regarding the location, just across the road is Shangri-La's Jen hotel. Its decor and facilities visibly appear newer and better. However, it's much lower in height and doesn't offer the good views this hotel does. If you're looking for a sea view room, this hotel is worth it. If views aren't a priority, you might want to compare the two. This hotel is about 1km from many attractions in the old town, including Jay Chou's favorite restaurant, the street art murals, Kimberley Street Food Night Market, and Chew Jetty. These are all pleasant to explore in the evening. It's too hot at midday, so I'd recommend taking a taxi or staying at the hotel.

Ssj91this hotel is good overall, but when we arrived, they told us that we didn't have a booking with them and they couldn't locate our booking and details. the room was also said to be taken, and they are waiting for a cancellation in order to get our room. There is a lot of confusion among staff. some visitors were told to leave their rooms once they have entered. we waiting 1 hr 30 min to get our room. so check in was at 4.30pm. parking was also very inconvenient, as we had to park at the basement, which was impossible to even get one if you came into the hotel late and a T&G card was also needed to get validated before leaving the hotel if we wanted a free spot. Room was very spacious and clean. the tea and coffee was hard like its never been changed.

HHonghaizhixiaoFThe hotel's location is decent, and the building itself is impressive. The lobby service was good; we arrived in the morning, and while early check-in wasn't an option for most, we were able to store our luggage and head out to explore. The room size was acceptable, and it was kept clean. The Wi-Fi speed was a bit slow, but housekeeping did a great job every day. There's a lively night market right downstairs, bustling every night except Wednesdays. It's about a 15-minute walk to the Mural Street. Breakfast was fine, and the restaurant staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. During our stay, there was some exterior renovation happening, which the hotel informed us about in advance. However, the most annoying issue was the highly unstable water supply during those days. We occasionally had no hot water during the day, and sometimes even a complete water cutoff. When the water did return, it was very yellow. On the evening of the 23rd, there was no hot water at all, and we had to wait until 11:30 PM for a hot shower. This was the biggest flaw of our stay, and I hope the hotel addresses and improves this.

GGrace_youngImmerse yourself in the century-old Nanyang colonial charm. The rooms are spacious, featuring vintage teak furniture, brass light fixtures, and silk furnishings that evoke classic English elegance. The floor-to-ceiling windows provide excellent natural light, and many rooms have balconies offering views of the Malacca Strait or lush gardens, bringing the sea breeze and scenery right to your doorstep. The twin beds are comfortable, and the bathroom has a wet/dry separation with a double vanity. The vintage bathtub paired with modern amenities speaks to the superior quality. The Heritage Wing offers a full suite of perks: daily complimentary afternoon tea, evening happy hour with drinks and snacks, free-flowing mini-bar, and a welcome bottle of wine, all delivered with thoughtful and attentive service. The public areas retain the original colonial architecture, with atmospheric corridors, gardens, and a coastal boardwalk—every step reveals a scene steeped in history. The only minor drawback is the age of the building, which occasionally has a faint old smell that dissipates quickly with ventilation. Overall, it perfectly blends vintage luxury with comfort, making it an ideal choice for a leisurely trip to Penang to experience its rich historical heritage.

SStitch626We had a pleasant stay in a sea view room with a truly fantastic view. The staff were also lovely and very helpful. However, we did have a minor hygiene concern as we saw two bugs coming out of the pipes near the sink and bathtub. On the dining side, the breakfast included is tasty and authentic, and the variety is good—the DIY curry noodles (with a choice of vermicelli, mee, or kuay teow) were a highlight! That said, breakfast service was a bit let down by slow refills. Even with an hour left, there was no teh or kopi available. The machine coffee was also quite poor, tasting like bitter water without any aroma. A few tweaks to maintenance and breakfast logistics would make this a top-tier stay.
