This solo trip to Xi'an, based on past experiences, I opted for a hostel instead of a hotel or B&B, for a few reasons:
✅ **Safety Buff:**
Compared to staying alone in a hotel, I prefer having female roommates 👭. Hostels provide this environment with open common areas and shared rules, making me feel much safer.
✅ **Convenience:**
Cheap doesn't mean a rundown guesthouse. Large chain hostels usually have professional staff, communal restrooms, basic toiletries, and large common areas for activities. Their locations are also often very central.
✅ **Kindness and Friendship:**
This is the soul of a hostel. Honestly, it's hard to find a place in society where you witness so much kindness as densely as in a hostel common room. With a shared destination, a book, a song, or a common interest, people can easily connect. There are no ulterior motives or desires, no prejudice or barriers (ideally → still, remember to protect yourself and set boundaries).
This time, I stayed at 'Backpackers 10 Years Bell Tower Branch,' a nationwide chain. The off-season price was very affordable, and the six-bed dorm wasn't full. The girls in the dorm were all very considerate, quietly closing doors at night and not disturbing others when getting up early. The room was clean and odor-free.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Perfect Hostel Experience Beyond Expectations!
My trip to Xi'an was made incredibly special by this youth hostel located in Dapiyuan! It's one of the most thoughtful and convenient hostels I've ever stayed in.
**📍Excellent Location:** It's right in the famous **Dapiyuan**! Step outside, and you're surrounded by authentic local eateries. Huimin Street and Sajin Bridge are also within walking distance. For a foodie like me who wants to experience the true flavors of Xi'an, this is pure heaven.
**🚻Room Highlights:** What surprised me most was that a hostel room actually came with **two separate bathrooms**! This completely eliminated the morning rush for washing up and evening queues for showering, greatly enhancing privacy and convenience. Both bathrooms were also stocked with toilet paper, showing great attention to detail.
**🌿Common Areas:**
* The **rooftop garden terrace** is an absolute gem! Sitting on the terrace with friends in the evening, enjoying the breeze and the night view of Xi'an's old city, felt incredibly relaxing and comfortable. It's also a fantastic spot for photos.
* The **ground floor reception area** is so well-equipped! Not only is it **staffed 24/7**, which put my mind at ease as a late arrival, but it also **sells snacks and bottled water**, solving any late-night cravings. A **fridge, washing machine, and dryer** are all available, which are absolute essentials for long-term travelers. Being able to wash and dry clothes anytime is incredibly convenient.
**In Summary:** This hostel perfectly balances 'superior location,' 'comfortable accommodation experience,' and 'high level of living convenience.' Whether you're a solo backpacker or traveling with friends, it meets all your needs.
Highly recommended! This will definitely be my top choice for my next visit to Xi'an! 👍

This hostel offers fantastic value for money. It's spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the service is incredibly thoughtful. The owner is wonderfully warm and approachable; she's always patient when answering questions and proactively anticipates guests' needs, making everyone feel completely at ease for a truly pleasant and worry-free stay.
Nice and helpful host, kettle, free drinkable water, clean bathroom with soap, tooth brush and paste and toilet paper, lockers, no mosquitoes in the room, pleasant soft music during the day and excellent location. Georges lemon tree in common room.

Room is quite large, well organised.
The location is close to gate D of metro zhongluo line 2 (about 400m). And 5 minutes cycling to dachashi station (line 4) to dayan tower

Decent hostel. There is a big common area that is quite comfortable and the rooms have everything a backpacker would need: lockers, sockets and a private light next to your bed. The bathroom has multiple sinks and European standard toilets. The bathroom always looks a little yucky because it's old but it is actually surprisingly clean. There is a washing machine available that you can use yourself. But it takes a long time for your clothes to dry when you hang them in your room.
The staff of the hotel was helpful. They let us check in early when we arrived half dead from a night train.
It was a bit hard to find: It is on the second floor of the house on the corner. Just in case you're as confused as we were.

The hotel facilities are great, and the host was really enthusiastic, recommending lots of good places to eat nearby. Being right next to the Muslim Quarter is super convenient for grabbing food. Plus, the soundproofing is excellent; you can't hear any street noise at night, which is great for sleeping. On the rooftop, the host has a friendly 'puppy' that isn't shy at all!

This is a great youth hostel, largely due to its peaceful environment. It's also very clean, and overall, I'd say it's excellent. The location is super convenient for transport, being just a short walk from the Stadium subway station. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and both the Shaanxi History Museum and Xi'an Museum are within easy reach. What's more, getting to Yongning Gate is pretty straightforward as well.

I stayed at their place before in Xi'an and thought it was OK, but I was really disappointed this time. First of all, the network signal is not good, it is very stuck, just like the photo shows, just open a small program and it shows that the network is not strong. In this era, even if you book a room, you have to book it online. If the signal is not good, will you let me renew it or not?
Secondly, I didn't expect to arrange a female room next to the male bathroom and the male toilet. Before I went to Shanghai, there were boys on one floor and girls on the other floor. Not to mention Shanghai, there are also such messes in Xi'an.
Let alone the service. I had planned to renew my stay, but I completely gave up and checked out early.

Initially not as terrible as I had feared despite the low price. The layer of dust I saw when leaving my luggage early (in some corner because there was nobody to talk to) was gone when I checked in later. Place was easy to find (first image, take the elevator to the 5th floor and you're there) and in a very local area. Nice eateries and a small mobile phones and accessories mall turning left then right when leaving the building. Huimin Street and Drum and Bell Towers in walking distance. Free water dispenser and plenty of space in the hostel despite the lack of power outlets at the workspaces. But there comes the problem. The voltage at the power outlet seems elevated, my charger melted and almost caught fire although I used it everywhere else in Asia as well as for several weeks in China already. Other chargers I tried at this place also got extremely hot. They put me in a separate room to prevent another bad review on the potential production of spit, noise, dirt and sometimes even cigarette smoke in the dorms. One bathroom even had a seat toilet. Obviously plenty of smoking in the common area.

PPatr1kThe hostel has a lot of potential with a rooftop, great WiFi and comfortable beds, as well as lockers and a welcome package including some soap and slippers.
However, the cleanness definitely needs improvement. Especially in the bathroom! (And under the bunks)
I had a bunk bed in a room for 14 guys (not sure if there are more rooms for guys), so at least 14 guys have only 3 toilets and 2 showers. That’s not much but worst of all is if it’s not cleaned enough. With this amount of guests cleaning it multiple times a day is absolutely necessary. So overall, something that can and needs to be improved
MM565028****Seriously, everyone needs to stay here!!!!!!! With such an incredible atmosphere, prime location, convenient transportation, fantastic service, and unbeatable price – are you telling me you can stay right on the Second Ring Road for just 170 a night, with a subway entrance literally downstairs, a room equipped with a projector and a fridge, and even nightly movie screenings?! What's more, when I mentioned the slightly low water pressure to the front desk on the first day, someone came to fix it first thing the very next morning. This place is truly magnificent, enough said. Just go and stay!
