The Egyptian breakfast was absolutely delicious! There's a metro station nearby, and also a farmers' market where I bought a kilo of strawberries for only 25 EGP – that's incredible! The overall atmosphere and accommodation at this hostel were fantastic. I hope to visit again next year!

everything was good, the room was clean and quite. the staff members were very kind and helpful, I booked 2 tours with them one for the Pyramids and the other one for the white and black dessert, and both tours were extremely good specially the tour guide Ali.

Location: Right next to the Egyptian Museum. The exterior looks a bit rundown, but the room was quite spacious. Service & Facilities: The front desk staff were very welcoming. If you pre-order breakfast, they'll deliver it to your room.

At the reception, the man explained to us that if we book a more expensive room, there would be a shower in the room. We booked it right in front of him, but he gave us a room without a shower. We argued for a long time and then gave in. He misinformed us. The floor in the room was dirty, which we didn't like either.

The room was pretty standard. Its main advantage is its excellent location, right opposite the old Egyptian Museum. Don't be fooled by the wall; it's directly across the street, just go through the small gate with a doorman. Plus, there's a pizza shop next to the hotel that offers great value for money, and many locals frequent it.

Very good location (downtown), safe and perfect for a first time in town. Mostafa and the whole team are super friendly, reactive and will provide any assistance you may need. (like a reliable pick up very late at night from the airport). Room is clean, true to the pictures, it has everything you expect for a stay, worth the price you pay. it may be a little bit noisy on the street side, but it depends on individual sensitivity (this can also be handled if needed). Would come back. 💯

The first time I checked in, I felt that this hotel was very good and I was satisfied with everything. But the second time, it was full of problems. There were all kinds of problems with this hotel. First, because it was my second time staying at this hotel, I deliberately did not make a reservation in advance and went directly to the hotel to ask them the price. The hotel said the price for one night was 970 ebms, which shocked me. I checked the platform and found that the price for one night was only more than 400. Then I made a reservation on the platform, and the hotel staff was very unhappy. Second, my friend came to the hotel to visit me. As soon as he stepped into the door of the hotel, the hotel staff ran to me and said that I needed to pay 200 ebms because I brought a friend in. I said I was leaving soon and was not here. He said no, as soon as you come in, you must pay 200 ebms before you can leave. Fortunately, when I checked in, I told their staff that a friend would come to see me the next day, and he said OK, so I escaped. In summary, this hotel has many pitfalls. You must ask clearly when making a reservation, otherwise it is easy to fall into the trap.

Originally a three-bed room, the result said that there was no room type, so it was arranged, one large and one small twin room. The bathroom facilities are very broken, the lights are not bright, the rain shower is bad, but fortunately, I will stay for one night. But the waiter is good and the attitude is OK.

I stayed at the Rammes Hostel in Egypt for several nights and had a very comfortable experience overall. The location is convenient, not far from major attractions, and the surrounding area has good amenities. The rooms were clean and tidy, the common areas were spacious, and the atmosphere was relaxed, perfect for travelers to chat. The staff were friendly and helpful, providing a lot of useful information, which made me feel at ease. The price was reasonable, offering great value for money, making it an excellent accommodation choice for backpackers visiting the area. I highly recommend it.

AAnonymous UserIn general, it is not bad for me to stay in a single room with a common bathroom for 10 nights. Above all, I would like to express my gratitude to the staff's efforts to manage the City Hostel clean which is too old and out fashioned building. * Location & Transportation Without noise, it is the best location to stay. It is located at 2 2-minute walk distance from Attaba subway station that connects to the Ramsis Railway Station and the Egypt Museum, only 1~3 stops away, charging 6 EGP per way. Of course, you can go to both by walk in 20 minutes. It means you can also enjoy the Nile riverside which is close to the museum. And it is a 2-minute walk distance from the Attaba market which is the biggest public market in Cairo and so many locals visit to buy their livelihoods stuff at a cheap price. In addition, you can also walk to the Al Azhar Mosque and Khan El-Khalili traditional market in 30 minutes, and St. Marc Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in AL Azbakeya in 10 minutes Two problems I experienced are firstly the noi⁹sy from 8 am to 3 am outside the building due to market area and cars' horns. It took 3 days for me to adapt it. Any room in the hostel cannot escape it without changing the windows to soundproof ones. If you are sensitive to sound, it is better to find other lodges in a residential area or modernized ones. Secondly, its location on the Uber taxi map and other maps is not accurate, so drivers have some problems in finding the city hostel. I have to meet them in front of the KFC next to the Attaba subway station. The signboard of the hotel is too small to recognize it. * Building and room conditions Like many other buildings in Cairo, the hostel building is old and shabby. The interior design and facilities are also outdated. However, the staff manages it so clean, particularly a common toilet and shower room. It is quite convenient a washstand in each room. However, it is bad there is no electronic kettle to boil water in a room or a common space. I could not enjoy my tea or coffee time at any time. I have to ask for hot drink water every morning when receiving breakfast, and store it in my tumbler. It will be better to provide a tea or coffee service area in the hostel. * Cleanness & Safety Cleanness and safety are very good. I have no issue with this. * Services There is no basic service that most guesthouses provide in general: toilet paper and drink water. Wifi is too weak to use the internet. Other services like laundry are satisfied. * Others During my stay, I couldn't enjoy having an exchange time with other travelers. I think it is because there is no reason to stay in a common space where only sofas and a table are. Largely guesthouse provides a commonplace where guests enjoy better the internet or drinks including tea or coffee and foods, which makes guests meet each other naturally and structurally. In conclusion, if the hostel provides basic services like toilet paper and commonplace with drink water and electronic kettles, it will be much better. And it is necessary to change its signboard so that is more recognizable. Except issues I mentioned above, it is a very good budget lodge.

GGuest UserI was so happy that they handled my late-night arrival so well. I was hoping to enjoy the cleanliness, which was unlike anything I'd seen in Egypt, but the one I'm currently dealing with... It's been a week since I bought it! Ever since I bought it, there's been something that's been bothering me.

AAnonymous UserThe hostel is a welcome respite from the chaos of Cairo. Note that there are two floors, 1 and 4, but are connected by a vintage elevator as well as a stairwell. Breakfast provided each day was sincerely appreciated and delicious, made fresh for each person. The beds are comfortable and equipped with a small light and a power outlet to charge your devices. There is a common area to hang out with others and meet people. Some of the fittings are broken in the bathrooms but you will get by fine.

GGuest UserWhen we arrived, it was a little difficult to find the building, because there was no sign of Lucky Hostel in the lobby. However a very persistent man outside, insisted that the building with sign “El otel”, is the correct building. We trust him and we entered. Another problem, it looked like to use the elevator to 4th floor, we must have access card. We wait for about 5 minutes and fortunately there was a man came down, and we asked his help to tap on the elevator using his card. Other than that, my husband & I were happy to stay in this hostel. Our room was so big and with sofa too!! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good. Hot shower was very pleasant in cold morning. And we were very happy that the staff allow us to put our luggage while we were away to Luxor. We stay for total of 4 nights and we were allowed again to put our luggage while we went shopping, because our flight was in the middle of the night.

IImpulsive TravellerThe location is at city center nearby to Egyptian Museum. Plenty of amenities within 10 minutes walk. The famed Koshary Abu Tarek is within 6 minutes walk. The rooms are well maintained. There is a staff at the reception 24/7. Guests of all ages and nationalities can be accomodated. Suggestion for improvement: 1. The towels to be issued upon check-in and not upon request. 2. The lift need to be upgraded as I was ever caught inside when there is a power trip. And often the lift did not operate because the lift door was not closed properly. Understand that the lift is not manage by your hostel. Please request for it from the building owner as it is not acceptable. 3. Consider centralized air condition system. Anyone can turn off the air conditioner affecting others.

GGuest UserThe hotel is quite close to the Egyptian museum, The facility is okay - The place is quite old but clean. The hotel staff here are very nice especially Mr Anas he was quite energetic and really looking forward to service + friendly I didn't expect that he was invites me to the lunch together with them ** note** for someone who cannot sleep with the noise - the hotel is quite close to the Egyptian Street which is always honking the horn. Solution ** ust bring an earplug ( The one that you would receive on in airplane ) and everything's gonna be fine In conclusion this hotel is reasonably priced for this quality. if you don't expect for something luxury but friendly , This hotel could be your choice

IIrina BudkoA good hotel in central Cairo. Located on the 12th floor, there are elevators. Traffic noise is negligible. You can order breakfast or coffee from the rooftop café. My room (124) had a spacious balcony, a modern shower, a refrigerator, and a closet. The staff was helpful.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at Cecilia Hostel! The location is perfect, right in downtown Cairo and close to everything — museums, the Nile, restaurants, and public transportation. It made exploring the city very easy. The room was clean and comfortable, and the bed was very cozy. Breakfast was simple but fresh and enough to start the day well. What truly made the experience special was the friendly and helpful staff. They were always smiling, ready to assist with tours, directions, and recommendations. Great value for money. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again!
