Hostels in County Dublin, Ireland

The hostel is a little bit disappointing, if I’m honest. Pros: -very clean bathrooms -amazing hot shower -location -free locker (deposit required) -keyless -free coffee pods and water The biggest downside is the sleeping pods. They are incredibly squeaky and flimsy, every more you make makes a ton of sound. What does not help is the fact the rooms are pretty much empty apart from the pods, so there is virtually zero sound dampening. I kid you not, but laying in the pod I could hear stomach rumbling of the person in a pod above me. It was very weird and awkward. If you or someone is snoring/coughing- you’re done. The nights were not very sleepless. Additionally, no charging ports worked in my pod and I had to use the kitchen Other cons: -towels and sheets are cleaned, but they are overused. Although washed, they have old stains and are generally worn out If you’re looking for a social hostel - this is not it. There aren’t any common areas (apart from small backyard and kitchen, which are always empty) and the hostel does not facilitate any activities If only the pods were a bit more convenient and a tiny bit more soundproof, it would be much better, but this issue really outweighed lots of positives for me

I stayed at The Dawson Hostel in Dublin for 4 nights in June 2026 and had a solid, enjoyable experience in a prime central location. The location is fantastic — right in the heart of Dublin City Center on Dawson Street. It’s just a 2-minute walk to The Little Museum of Dublin and very close to Trinity College, Grafton Street, and many restaurants, pubs, and shops. Perfect for exploring the city on foot or by public transport. The dorm rooms with bunk beds were clean and functional. The beds were comfortable enough with good linens, and there was decent storage space. The highlight for me was the very spacious lounge area where guests could relax, work, or socialize. The shared kitchen was well-equipped and useful for cooking meals, and the on-site laundry service was convenient during a longer stay. Staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations and check-in was quick. The hostel has a good social vibe without being too noisy. For the price, this is excellent value in such a central spot in Dublin. If you’re looking for a well-located hostel with solid facilities and a great base to explore the city, I recommend The Dawson Hostel.

It was a good stay. I'm looking forward for future stays. It is comfortable. And clean and suitable for busy travelers and workers. The pods have blue lights for sleep in addition to the white light. Lockers have their own locks . very professional and friendly and respectable staff . The bar is beautiful and they have music nights and gigs sometimes. The location is great and is right next to everything. I was able to show up to work within 5 minutes of leaving. They serve food and drinks. Didn't see any public computers for use. Overall exceeded my expectations

A lot of people’s cards malfunctioned the morning of check out (before 10am) and it was annoying to have to go down to reception to fix our cards and we are rushing to check out. Otherwise, it was a nice stay

The hotel is in the city center. It's a 10-minute walk from the Dublin Express airport bus stop. There are many bus options nearby to get to other attractions, and most Galway tour group meeting points are also in this area. The bathrooms and showers are very clean, and the staff cleans them frequently. The only downside is that accommodation prices in Dublin are generally very expensive.

Not very clean, to climb the stairs to carry luggage, the service is general, basically no service, the facilities are very old, the bed is not comfortable, the only advantage is that the car is very convenient, the door is the bus station, go directly to the airport, 25 minutes can go directly to the airport passenger building

The hotel isn't far from the station. The room was actually quite spacious, but the layout wasn't very practical, making it cramped when trying to organize belongings around each bunk bed. The top bunk was too low, and you couldn't even sit up straight on the bottom bunk. Underneath the bottom bunk, there were two large metal baskets for luggage, which looked big, but my 22-inch suitcase couldn't fit, so I could only use it for my backpack. There were no privacy curtains, but each bunk had a light, an outlet, and a small shelf. The room had a private toilet and shower, but the exhaust fan would loudly hum as soon as the light was turned on. You also had to make your own bed (put on the sheets, pillowcase, and duvet cover) and remove them and take them to the front desk when checking out. There's an elevator, which is a plus.

Pretty good for a youth hostel, clean bedspreads, quilt covers and pillow covers on the bed, make your own. Girls from all over the world are very conscious, the bathroom is clean, and the bar downstairs is noisy until 13:00 in the morning, which has no impact on my good sleep.
