Important Update - Thailand halts Quarantine-free Entry Policy
From December 21st, Thailand halted its quarantine-free entry policy. No more applications for quarantine-free entry into Thailand will be accepted. It will last until Jan. 4th, when the Covid-19 panel lead by Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha will reassess the program.
Visitors who have already applied for quarantine-free entry and been approved, will be allowed to enter Thailand without quarantine, but additional requirements are needed: they should take PCR test upon their arrival and day 7.
Thailand Reopens with Quarantine-free Travel for Tourists from the United Kingdom and Europe
From November 1, Thailand will allow travellers from the United Kingdom and Europe to enter the country without quarantine if they meet certain requirements. The change in Thailand Travel Restrictions is welcomed in order to boost its economy been impacted by floods and COVID-19 restrictions. The number is much higher than the 10 countries that the government proposed previously.
Tourists from countries not on the list can visit Thailand as well, but they must quarantine. Currently, passengers who arrive by plane are under mandatory quarantine for 7 days unless entering Phuket through current Sandbox s, while those by boat must be quarantined for 10 days.
Travellers from which Countries Enjoy Quarantine-free Travel to Thailand?
Residents from the following European countries including the United Kingdom are allowed to enter Thailand under the new Travel Restrictions without quanrantine after certain requirements are met.

When does the new Thailand Travel Restrictions start?
Fully vaccinated travellers will be allowed to enter Thailand with quarantine-free entry from November 1, 2021, when new Thailand Travel Restrictions start.
What are the Requirements for Quarantine-free Travellers under Thailand Travel Restrictions?
Travellers must meet following requirements for Quarantine-free entry to Thailand:
- Stay 21 days prior to departure in an approved countries/ territories in the list.
- Be fully vaccinated using a COVID-19 vaccine approved for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO) at least 14 days prior to departure.
- Have proof of negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19 issued within 72 hours of intended departure.
- Undergo an additional RT-PCR test on-arrival in Thailand and self-isolate for 1 night at an SHA+ approved hotel while awaiting test results.
- Purchase medical insurance valid for use in Thailand with a minimum coverage of US$50,000.
Do Travellers need to Quarantine when Returning?
In short, no you don't for the United Kingdom and a selection of European countries, visit local government sites for detailed information for your own travel.
