Very clean, comfortable hotel in a great location (Great Lakes Crossing outlet mall) right off I75. Nice hot breakfast (fresh waffles!). Friendly helpful staff. Clean room & lobby & halls. Comfortable bed and bedding. Had our two standard poodles with us - easy to stay with them in this hotel.

I really enjoyed the breakfast here, the standard Hilton hotel breakfast. Coffee is a taste, potatoes are a taste, and apples are the same.

Many reviews noted the traffic noise, we had a room facing the parking lot and weren’t bothered by noise. If walking is an issue be sure to mention this when booking your room. The hotel is a large two-story “box” with a courtyard in the middle. There is the potential for lots of walking…especially to the front desk, pool, etc. Our room was clean and that’s most important. The rooms really need a nightlight as there are lots of twists and turns to navigate in the middle of the night. The wardrobe does not give when you walk into it! All the staff were pleasant and helpful. So why didn’t I give the hotel five stars? There is no coffee available except for the tiny pot in the room…and coffee drinkers know that’s not coffee! Every item in the “grab-n-go” breakfast has a charge! They say they have a Starbucks but, that’s a charge too…and the front desk person is your barista. What? With COVID and all, I have seen some pretty sad pre-packaged breakfast bars. But I never had to pay for them…and there was alway coffee. Sorry, but we aren’t staying here again.

I am a recent amputee. Upon losing my leg, I lost my home due to insurance regulations. I checked into the ESA -- Auburn Hills. Paul and his staff havebeen wonderful to me ever since my arrival. They have taken out trash and moved things that needed to be moved. They fulfill my every request. When I first got here, there was a lot of noise and dogs. But now, the carpets hav been cleaned and are freshened daily. EVERYTHING is sanitized regularly. If I were to have a complaint, it would be that the internet is HORRIBLE!!!! That is not the fault of the staff, but of ESA Corporate. I could write a letter, put it in an envelope and mail it and have it get to the recipient faster than the internet at this hotel. This place is entirely too expensive for crappy internet. Even if you pay the additional fee $31/month, it is very VERY slow if it comes on at all. I have spoken with corporate, who says it is a third party vendor and they are working on the issue. Again, I have been here since August. How long could it possibly take to figure out why I have no internet when the room next door has FULL signal. I like this hotel and I like the people that work here. I hate the internet and I think it is a shame for THAT to be the reason I am disatisfied with my greater than four month stay here......

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding. Just needed a place to stay that WASN'T our house. We also had a block here with several people staying. This is important later. This review is for our stay as well as issues I had to handle for my guests in my block. We booked a 1-king room. The good: - Room and hotel was clean, from what we could tell. - Shower had decent pressure and temperature - Bed was comfortable, if a bit over firm. - The morning/daytime staff was excellent. The bad: - I selected a king room on the booking page, but somehow the system put us in a 2-bed room. - The AC unit was disconnected from the wall thermostat, had to operate via the AC unit itself, Group booking issues: I had several people trying to book rooms in my block. While a couple were successful, I had three that had various issues that caused me to have to physically go to the property to remedy. Issues included: - Rate on block page not being correct (despite signed contract and being told repeatedly it was fixed) - Night staff training had not been done, resulting in guests being told they could not be given a confirmation number, could not add hilton honors account, could not provide any sort of proof of booking. - Night ”manager”, due to either incompetence and/or lack of training, not only didn't book rooms for guests, but modified the properties of the group block itself, so it was no longer under the correct name and more. - Night staff (Night ”Manager” specifically) was extremely rude when I called to try to assist some of my guests with booking. - I found out when I went up there the next day to speak to management that the night ”manager” didn't know the group booking system (it was in place for just over a month) and had changed the name and details of the group itself, never made a booking for my guests, and everything had to be fixed and reservations made. The hotel might be a fine place to stay for an individual reservation, but I would stay away when it comes to blocks.
