The Meetings B&B

Not one to write reviews but I felt it necessary as some of those on here were quite poor. Found this to be a lovely and charming place to stay. View from the room was fabulous, with even better sound effects from the river! There is a lovely deck area with comfortable chairs and loungers to enjoy the view and the sound of the rivers flowing. There is no food available on site, but the bar is nice for a pre or post dinner drink and there are restaurants 10 minutes drive in either direction. The staff were lovely, a warm and friendly family of hosts. The breakfast was plentiful with meats, cheeses, yoghurts and cooked options. Great price for a relaxing night in the country. It's not 5 star but it's never claimed to be, a good value, clean and pleasant place to stay. We will be back.

Not sure where the bad reviews are coming from, stayed here for one night, its location alone is worth the stay. The room which I stayed was facing the river, amazing sound and view, room is basic but reflects the price, they have playstation for kids equipped kitchen facilities plus breakfast was excellent, its 10 minutes drive either direction for restaurants as they dont do food anymore. Family run staff I found very nice and helpful. All id say is make up your own mind.

We stayed here and found the woman owner very rude and unprofessional she served drinks with a scold on her face and was just very unpleasant there was no friendly atmosphere. The place is dated and dirty the breakfast area still had Christmas decor up in February. I would not advise anyone to book here

I found the Meetings to be nice, quaint, older but very satisfied with the room, host and bed and shower. A few things need attention (loose toilet seat), but it met my expectations and I had a good time here.

This accommodating, family-run inn on the banks of the Avonmore and Avonbeg rivers -- the famed "meeting of the waters" is a comfortable and welcoming space in a recently refurbished inn from the late 1800s. Best for guests with access to a car, The Meetings is still very manageable without one, since the Local Link bus stops four times a day for travel to nearby Wicklow Town and other villages as well as the gorgeous Glendalough region with its famed walks and historic ruins. Evenings in the delightful pub chatting with other guests and with our hosts were a highlight of our stay. A wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

Fab views, room was small but clean, bathroom the same, great shower. Breakfast was adequate. The outside of the building could do with a clean-up, quite a few ****s around, the outside wall was dirty as was the sign for the premises. A few nice flowers & shrubs would really enhance the place & help to create a good first impression.

Fantastic views, fabulous,comfy clean rooms, Bar/lounge with very friendly staff and funny, friendly locals. Breakfast delicious. Beautiful handmade crafts sold. But the HOSTS themselves,D & Derek are superb,sooo friendly and funny, nothing to much trouble,the directions and information we needed for the area was spot on from them. They topped our stay, highly recommend this place. Totally AMAZING

Stayed here one night..clean warm bedroom ..very good breakfast ..very noisy outside our bedroom was on the floor above the shop/pub on the Saturday night..didn't get sleeping until half four in the morning

The Meetings is a grim spot. Looks derelict from the back, broken glass lying on the decking, stuff dumped randomly. Looks like it was once a lovely spot and could be again, but would need a lot of work, care and attention. Saving grace was that room was ok, warm and reasonably clean. Breakfast in the cheap and tacky dining area was ok, although the bacon looked dodgy/discoloured/burnt. I had high hopes looking at the website photos, only to be disappointed by the reality. The natural environs are lovely.
