Puluong Retreat

This was my favourite place in Vietnam. Pu Luong really is off the beaten track and it was worth the 5 hour bumpy ride to get there. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our beautiful cabin with amazing views over the rice paddies. There were very few tourists and we had the pools to ourselves. This is a great base to do some treks through the villages ( see my other review for a great one on one guide ) Our package included a 4 course dinner which was really good as well as a buffet breakfast.

Beautiful, clean, friendly. Incredible view from the room, good food! Ice and very clean pool, nice poolbar and beautiful surroundings! Must stay there when you go to Pu Luong. Very peaceful and quiet

The area is beautiful and the staff very friendly & accommodating. The rooms are very dated and need remodeling. The bathroom & shower doesn’t provide much privacy and have cheap shower curtains. The towels are thin and need replacing. The walls need repainting. The location is great- just wish the rooms were more updated & luxurious. The pool looks over the rice paddies which is nice. The food is good but did not taste authentically Vietnamese - more Western style. Bring earplugs because the dogs bark at all hours.

The view from this very special retreat is over the top, amazing! We loved our stay of two nights at Pu Luong Retreat and we wish it could have been for one more day. The retreat's many paths around the property were magical, with all sorts of native trees and flowers. I had to stop many times to take photos or to just be in the moment as I walked to and from our meals. The restaurant was under a huge porch and the meals were delicious. We had a wonderful day of walking through the rice fields and mountains, seeing the many water wheels that provide water to the fields as well as meeting many villagers along the way. Every staff member made sure that all our needs were met and we loved how genuinely happy and friendly everyone was! I would have loved to have had more time to sit and enjoy our gorgeous view while sitting on our beautiful porch overlooking the amazing valley! I had waited a long time to see these views and they were even better than I thought possible! We are definitely going to return!!!

We enjoyed 3 days un Pu Luong in this superb hotel. The view is breathtaking, the surrounding hikes absolutely unique, the hotel super charming with a mordern & authentic decoration. The team was so kind and really did everything to offer us a wonderful stay. Thank you so much ❤️

This is a good 3 star hotel. Comfortable clean rooms with a balcony. There are steep paths to the rooms which do become slippery in the rain so not ideal if you have mobility issues. Most of the view is of paddy fields but there is a new hotel which is brightly lit and noisy at weekends. Food is good and plenty of it - we had the full board option. We also had a massage which was good. There are good walks into the paddy fields or a bit further away to see the waterwheels. The staff are young and friendly.

Such a beautiful place - the hotel is clean, staff welcoming and the surrounding countryside is lovely. We loved the pool, the room and the friendly staff. The restaurant is befitting of the star rating - absolutely fine - and service is great. Would come back for sure!

A fantastic place overlooking rice fields. The view is stunning from the luxurious huts. The area is calm and staff very nice. The rooms are spacious, clean and with traditional and beautiful decor. There is an outdoor jacuzzi which is very nice. The area has very few tourists and is calm and quiet.

Wonderful location and charming paths around the area of the retreat. Bungalows, pools and bar with amazing view over the wonderful patch of rice fields below us. Very helpful staff. Good dinner and breakfast. Unfortunately we only had one night.....
