My friend and I had a wonderful time staying at Santosha Villas. The staff was great. Very accommodating, kind and always greeting us by name with a smile. We stayed on the top floor of the pool suite which was set back from most of the other villas. Even though there was construction happening at the entrance of the villas, we couldn't hear anything from that room. We had a beautiful view of the rice fields. For breakfast you have a choice of four set menus with plenty of food. The American set included a choice between fruit and juice, eggs any style ( my poached eggs were perfect) with toast and a croissant, sausage and coffee or tea. They brought breakfast at the time of our choice to our balcony. It was a very tranquil way to start the day. The room was clean and very pretty. Yes , there were ants in the bathroom and a cute little gecko, but it is in the middle of rice fields and jungle so there's very little to be done with that. It wasn't an infestation, just nature. If this freaks you out you should stay in a big concrete resort, not in the middle of a rice field. The location is outside of town but the grab app is great it was between 40000-80000 ringet ( between 3-6 USD) to get into town. The area itself is beautiful to walk in and there are some cute little restaurants. The Pyramids of Chi is about two minutes away and has an excellent vegan cafe, with sound healing and other activities. The pool was lovely. The staff worked hard to keep it clean. It's under trees so they were competing with the leaves but they did a good job. It was beautiful. Again, I will bring up the staff and their care. Everything we asked they delivered with a smile. My friend came after me. Her flight arrived at midnight which meant she got to Ubud sometime between 2-3am. Usually the staff goes home by 10 pm except for the security officer. They had someone waiting until she arrived. He greeted her with a smile, was standing right where the car arrived and escorted her to the villa. Another example of great service was the night we arrived from town and it was pouring rain, there was another member of staff waiting with a smile and two open umbrellas for us. Unexpected but lovely. I chose Santosha because I wanted to be out of Central Ubud around Nature. I wanted peace and quiet. I loved staying here. They have yoga mats, so my friend and grabbed a couple and did yoga on our deck in the mornings before breakfast. It felt like I was stying in someones home really. If you want to be in beauty and nature I would highly recommend Santosha Villas.

I had already spent about a month in Bali so I know the standards and this place was the worst ever experience that ruined my holiday. Booked a deluxe king suite for my last 3 nights and paid over 50 euro a night. First night geckos in the room, the whole place was invested by ants, but the worst is second night 3 cockroaches and I had to leave. The staff wasn’t there in their business hours to help me and they didn’t pick up the phone, either. There was also no internet in my room, for which the staff kept apologizing but did nothing. My bathroom was dirty on my check in. The swimming pool was full of frogs, so you can see there’s no chlorine in it for hygiene. I had to leave my room escaping from the cockroaches in the middle of the night when it was raining cats and dogs and as it is the Christmas time, almost no other hotel had availability. So I’be wasted my money and still spending one night at each place as all hotels are booked out. Terrible way to end my holiday thanks to this awful hotel.

Honest review: - check out. I went to lobby and no 'hope you had a nice stay' etc. Just 'pay bill' which was very rude. Maybe it's an English barrier but then that's just another negative! Nyoman and Radi were helpful, everyone else was horrible! - breakfast. Quantity was not enough for 1 adult. 1st day eggs were freezing cold. Last day we asked for extra croissants and sausages which I thought would be OK as we had less juice, tea, other things than included. They didn't give bread. I asked for it and the lady started arguing, saying we had croissants instead, said she'd call the manager etc. After paying millions, I was shocked to be refused for a few slices of bread, which she brought anyway! - service. Mixed. Some was great, some was just nasty. As above. Spoken to fairly rudely at times. The concept of doing even a tiny thing extra for free or to help was alien to them! They waived the 'credit card fee' which I didn't expect anyway, and they made a big fuss over how it was special for us! - lizards. Geckos we expected and it was managed. But 1st 2 nights we had a big monitor lizard in the bathroom. I know they live locally, but I know there's medicinal spray to deter then. Kept my wife and kids scared for the entire stay! - cost of things. Don't waste your money on the hotel car. 100k to get to Ubud central. For comparison, Gojek was anything between 30k and 60k! - location was kind of in the middle of nowhere and needed a taxi to get anywhere. 10-15 minutes to Ubud central. - entrance has mass construction and looked awful until you got inside. Some specific positives: - private pool was great, warm and kids loved it. - communication through WhatsApp was good. - size and beauty of the area and the villa itself, gorgeous.

DO NOT BOOK HERE I REPEAT DONT DO IT. It’s cheap for a reason they have an infestation with ants because the bathroom is open. It was so bad that we had to put a towel under the bathroom door so the ants won’t come in the bedroom. The AC work when it want to work. The towels look dirty and old. The room has terrible lighting. We were assaulted by another male who was staying here and we were asked to leave which is insane. I wanted to call the cops but they didn’t want to do they offered me a full refund. 0/10 I highly don’t recommend.

I have been to Santosha two years ago and it was so great to see them surviving the lock-downs. All the villas were booked out mainly with solo travellers or couples. The staff and the owner, Mr Nyoman, are very nice people, always there to help out with everything. The room, hot shower, AC, power and WiFi all worked. Pool was well looked after. By the way, it is absolutely safe to brush teeth with the tap water. Two bottles of water are provided each day. Balinese coffee was super delicious. The location is great, not too far from Ubud centre but tucked in the rice fields in the little village. The Pyramids of Chi are just a few minute walk away, the Tirtha Empul Temple and the rice terraces are very close too. A trip to Lake Batur through the agricultural villages was very interesting. Wonderful mornings with bird songs of all kinds. I enjoyed my sleep-ins and lazy breakfast on the cozy porch and swims in the beautiful pool. At the end of the day, massage with Madei in your villa with the doors open into the dusk pulsating with the crickets, was another level of relaxation. If you are looking for a quiet tranquil place to switch your head off and unwind, I am happy to recommend Santosha.

We booked 6 rooms at santosha villas & spa ubud on April 2022 for a maximum of 12 people to stay. Their staff was very friendly and very helpful. we got a very spacious, beautiful and clean room with a very affordable price. The room we ordered directly overlooks by the rice fields view while accompanied by a very delicious breakfast. We highly recommend Santosha Villas & Spa for those of you who want to vacation in Ubud while enjoying the view of the rice fields🥰♥️ Hopefully we can vacation again at santosha villas when we go to ubud again👏

very bad service, not looks like villa but more like homestay and also have a bad room with no entertainment like tv, sound etc. we already book villa for 5 rooms but you only get 1 room with very narrow wardrobe. and also the pool is too small you can only swim with 2 person in there and also you won't see kitchen in rooms :) note : you can't doing party here over than 5 person because they don't have a good place and a good view to show
