The Westbourne House

What an absolute filthy hotel, paid £300 for 6 people for one night and we ended up in bunk beds all crammed in one filthy room, no toilets in rooms either. It’s awful filthy dirty, wallpaper hanging off the wall, dirty sheets a kettle full of urine!!!! Never ever have a seen a place like this I’m surprised it hasn’t been closed down as a health hazard

I booked 3 rooms for friends and every room was a filthy blood on bed sheets urine in the kettle that was switched on and it stunk the room out showers stunk discussing place keep clear this place was not cheep eirther

Simply horrendous! Just because the description says private bathroom don't expect it as it's just a private toilet. The fire alarm is faulty and loudly beeping - flashing lights and says call an engineer, but the owner couldn't be bothered. It was so bad that we had to book another place even though we arrived quite late. We had to threaten ******* with the legal action to get our money back as they kept saying that the owner is refusing to refund so tough. Never again. AVOID!

Worst experience ever. The room was filthy and it absolutely stank in there of sewerage, ruined my son’s birthday. Had to cut our stay short due to the uncleanliness and the stench , no apology no nothing. The place is like the pits. The sink was filthy , the toilet was dirty and not flushed , dirt everywhere. Bedding was dirty , I’ve come away with a rash all over my body, please please don’t waste your money staying here.

Not very welcoming, given key, told where room was, we wanted to book breakfast as advertised to be told they weren’t doing breakfast. The single bed was so uncomfortable I had to place towels down to try and cover the springs and bumps. No shower, Will not be using again.

well, well, well, where to begin... firstly on arrival we was met by a rude young lady barefoot.. she seemed more bother that we had disturbed her... then later on when we returned to check in, (as we arrived early and was just leaving bags to go PB) when given keys no information about having to book in for breakfast in the morning. however we was told by another customer that he was informed the kitchen wasn't open as oven was broke. nothing too bad so far.. however a hotel in which no drinks are allowed up stairs, the bar was also closed as the staff member who works it was ill. not great when you have 3 kids with you (one autistic). both communal toilets had no lights in so kids didn't want to go bathroom alone, the shower room looked like a construction site. a few pillows had yellow stains.. looked like urine stains tbh with you.. then after we complained through *********** about all this. she lied saying we was rude because we didn't have a on suite.. we booked knowing it was communal bathrooms. we believe this is just a generic response as she would have to refund us some pennies.. I'm not one for leaving a bad review but this place has proper took the biscuit... please, please avoid.. spend that extra bit of money for a place that has all the commodities

All I'll say is.....If you're after the Ryanair of hotels you've come to the right place. Don't break down on the motorway for goodness sake because these guys will not give a damn even though we have a disabled daughter with autism and adhd and suffers with epilepsy. An employee who we spoke to is basically THE COMPUTER SAYS NOOOOO woman off Little Britain and has more customer care a brick wall We don't know what the hotel is like because we didn't even get in the hotel because they refused to open the door and let us in as we were too late for checking in and nobody to help although I'm sure if somebody was to be causing trouble in the property I'm sure they'd be up and ready to kick them out.....Anyway avoid at all costs they are the pits and very unhelpful.

When staying at a budget bed and breakfast you expect a reasonable amount of cleanliness and quality of bedding. Unfortunately this expectation was not met on this occasion. The bedding looked like it had seen better days down to the incredibly lumpy pillow. It was clear a table had been just cleaned with a wet cloth rather than polish given the streaks on it. The shower looked fine at initial inspection but even that could have done with a better clean. The outside of the property should have told us what to expect with long ****s coming out of the paved area. First impressions normally count for a lot and ours were disappointing. Probably would not stop here again.

First impressions were not the best from the mould on the blinds on the ground floor room, the door latch on our room was nearly broken slight force would have allowed anybody to walk in. The toilet on the landing was clean but the light did not work meaning going to the toilet in the night was difficult, as our room did not include the toilet inside. The street outside was very busy lots of shouting and car traffic, unfortunately we could not close the window with how high it was situated, the musty smell was not nice either. The staff were not inviting with little to next no enthusiasm or inviting personality seems to be run by young people. There were used cutlery underneath the bed along with old McDonald’s toys from happy meals. If I was on a stag do I would stay here for one night maximum providing I was not need cleanliness and hygiene. This is why I have reviewed this stay so low. Positive was the location is close to the tower and amusements.
