Could’ve have been so much better! The hotel is lovely and we were excited to see our room. When we entered the blinds were down and it was very dark. These heavy blinds were hanging on by a thread and exposed the shoddy baton they were attached to. We tried to pull up blinds but all the strings had snapped so no natural daylight at all! We enquired and we’re told to roll them up and sit them on top of the shutters. Not great. Sleep - really poor! We had a leaking / dripping toilet which continued throughout the night. I mentioned this on checkout and the man who dealt with us said that would’ve driven him mad. Despite this, no gesture of good will or recognition of the fault. Just a thank you and they would get it fixed!!! Food however was really great and the breakfast I had (eggs royal) were amazing. Room decor was lovely and bed was comfy. Could be a wonderful place but attention to detail is lacking and not worth the price we paid with the issues we experienced.

We had a great stay at the Wheatsheaf Inn. The staff were so friendly, and the food was exceptional. We had the Sunday roast and it was faultless. The only reason that I have given 4 stars, not 5 is due to our room being downstairs. A beautiful room, so much space and great facilities, but the noise from the room above stopped us sleeping at times. Having said that, we would love to go back, but upstairs!!

We stayed at the Wheatsheaf for 2 nights for our wedding nearby. We hired the private dining room for a family dinner the night before the wedding. The food was delicious & service was great. The rooms are full of character & lots of special touches like the Dyson hairdryers & treats. The staff were so helpful & friendly. Would definitely recommend it. I’d love to go back in the summer to make the most of the beautiful garden area.

At 10pm we were virtually the only couple in the bar apart from a local with a huge hound which kept howling! We went up to our room and left the hound to the Marie Celeste. There was no atmosphere to make the stay convivial. The room had been upgraded allegedly to a room with a view ( extra £10) but it was a debatable view although it did have a window.

A lovely break away to relax and unwind where else better! Welcomed by the great staff and enjoyed eating there one night. The room had everything we needed after a day exploring the local area to relax and unwind. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again!

We were disappointed because we requested a room with a bath as my partner if not able to stand up for very long… if the room with the bath was not available we would expect a response to the request to state it’s taken. We travelled quite for for a relaxing break and chose the hotel mostly because of this.

We had a really fabulous stay in this charming, if a little quirky, inn. The room was great- comfy bed, crisp white linens, fluffy towels- a little short on space for clothes, but would be fine if just there for a weekend. I loved the daily shortbread, and the milk for my early morning tea was very thoughtful. We had one dinner which was delicious, but our favorite was breakfast- lots of variety from full English to fresh croissants. A lovely spot to reconnect with my English roots and be reminded of how delicious liver, bacon and mashed potato can be. We'll be back!

The Food is good. Even though the prices are higher than most pub/resturants of the same nature. However the service was terrible, not friendly or attentive. The restaurant charges you a service charge so I guess they don't have to provide good service.
