There were so many guests during the ***** New Year, but the check-in process was very orderly. Our room wasn't ready by 3:30 PM, so they upgraded us to a room with a direct river view and gave us a late checkout until 2:00 PM. A big thank you to the front desk lady (I forgot her name)! Because breakfast was going to be crowded, we opted for room service, which was also excellent. The biscuits from the pastry shop were delicious too. It happened to be my birthday one day, and they even sent a small birthday cake. The night view was absolutely stunning. I'll definitely come back! However, the only downside to hotels like this is that you can't just stay for one day; it feels too rushed, especially when you're looking at the Pujiang River views and the crowds. So, next time, I'll plan for at least two days. I hope I get another upgrade next time! Happy New Year.

The hotel boasts an excellent central location, right next to Jing'an Temple, with a shopping mall and subway station just downstairs, making transportation incredibly convenient. The front desk staff, a very friendly and helpful gentleman, arranged an upgrade for me and even sent some complimentary fruit. It's a fantastic choice for both business trips and leisure travel!

The deluxe twin room was incredibly spacious, and the facilities, service, and location were all very family-friendly. The staff's attitude, in particular, was absolutely world-class, showcasing the consistent quality Shangri-La is known for. This is definitely a top choice for high-end family stays in Shanghai's Qiantan area.

Given it's a new hotel, the facilities are impeccable. Thanks to the double-glazed windows in all rooms, airport noise is virtually unnoticeable. The in-room mini-bar offers complimentary drinks, and purified drinking water is readily available from a tap, with an electric kettle for heating – very convenient. In a thoughtful gesture, complimentary tremella (snow fungus) soup was delivered to the room in the evening. Check-in is on the 12th floor, boasting excellent views, and the front desk staff provided exceptionally thoughtful service. The hotel's 3rd floor offers a direct connection to Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2, which is incredibly convenient for air travelers. For aviation enthusiasts, the airport views are unbeatable.

A few personal observations:
The bed was quite firm, which suited me fine. However, guests who prefer a softer mattress should be aware. Mobile phone signal in the room was a bit weak, something the hotel might need to address, but the Wi-Fi speed was excellent.

I'm a bit confused. Do I have to pay extra just to chat with the Concierge in the Club Lounge? I saw that arrogant manager circling my table during dinner, greeting everyone else but completely ignoring me. It's truly a real-life portrayal of 'Hello Mr. Billionaire' – art always originates from life, but life is even more spectacular. To be fair, the environment and location are decent. However, when I stayed at a regular chain hotel across the street, I left my luggage at the front desk, and the bellhop saw I had medication and immediately put it in the fridge for me – that truly touched me. Also, in this day and age, do hotels still require a deposit? They said it's in case a guest smokes in the room and gets fined. Seriously, at such an expensive hotel, are they so distrustful of their guests' character? The management is incredibly chaotic; asking a simple question takes forever to get a clear answer, everyone says something different, and they say one thing but do another.

Alice from Shangri-La Beijing is absolutely amazing! She proactively called us before check-in, and even arranged a lovely setup for our wedding anniversary. All the hotel staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, always greeting us with a smile, and even gave us a thoughtful little gift. The hotel itself has a charming, antique feel, and we were able to get beautiful photos of our baby dressed in traditional 'gege' attire without even leaving the hotel – so convenient and stress-free. Definitely a perfect score! 💯

To celebrate my wife's birthday, I specifically chose the China World Summit Wing, Beijing, the city's tallest hotel. It's located right above the north wing of the China World Mall. The lobby is on the 64th floor, and the downstairs concierge verified our check-in information and helped us with the key card. The lobby is quite unique; due to ceiling height limitations, it feels more like a lounge and wasn't too crowded. Check-in was quick. After learning it was my wife's birthday, they proactively offered a complimentary cake, flowers, and red wine – excellent service! The room layout was very well-designed, with the large bed facing a floor-to-ceiling window, offering a great view. The bathtub was spacious, perfect for relaxing. From 5-7 PM, the Atmosphere Bar on the 80th floor (the highest floor) had a great vibe, perfect for a drink while listening to live music. Breakfast is on the 79th floor, a hybrid of à la carte and buffet. The à la carte dishes were beautifully presented, though the taste didn't quite live up to the presentation, so there's room for improvement there. We even encountered a security team for a certain country's leader 🤫, which speaks to the appeal of the China World Summit Wing. Plus, staying on a weekend gets you free parking for one car, saving a whopping 300 RMB! All in all, highly recommended!

I stayed here with my son for New Year's Eve. We had a deluxe twin room, but it was just average and not very big. There was a night light that wouldn't turn off, so I had to use the double curtains to block it out before I could sleep (maybe it's just me, but I'm very sensitive to light and can't sleep if there's any brightness). That's a big thumbs down!!! The breakfast buffet was decent. The included admission to芽宝乐园 (Yabao Paradise) was great for kids, which was a nice bonus. However, delivery food couldn't be brought to the room, not even by the robot, which was really inconvenient. The front desk is on the third floor, and getting to the room from there involves walking quite a long way down a corridor.

Good overall, and very convenient as it's close to the border crossing.

Facilities: The facilities are a bit old, and there are very few power outlets, which was quite inconvenient. Otherwise, it has the standard amenities you'd expect from a five-star hotel.

Hygiene: Generally, the hygiene was good, but the bottom of the shower curtain had some mold. For a five-star hotel, shower curtains should really be disinfected and cleaned after each use.

Ambiance: The environment is great, close to the border crossing, quiet and peaceful.

Service: The service was very good.

If I had to describe the Futian Shangri-La in one sentence, the first thing that comes to mind is, 'An old Ferrari is still a Ferrari.'

The sophisticated room layout, the substantial yet aesthetically pleasing soft and hard furnishings, and the incredibly solid construction quality and maintenance… all live up to the Shangri-La's prestigious reputation.

However, the public areas are just decent, nothing spectacular… especially the all-day dining restaurant, which can feel a bit cramped during peak meal times.

Stepping into the lobby, the familiar scent was still there, but visually, it was completely new, modern, and incredibly well-designed. The high-ceilinged atrium, with its arcades and lush greenery, created an 'aerial garden' that perfectly captured the essence of Lingnan without feeling old-fashioned – the aesthetics are truly on point.

This stay, Hotel Manager Alice specially prepared a welcome gift, complete with fresh fruit, desserts, and red wine. Sipping a drink while gazing at the magnificent view outside the window, I really appreciated feeling so valued.

If you've ever been put off by the older Shangri-La hotels in other cities, you should definitely give this one in Nanshan, Shenzhen, a try. It retains Shangri-La's core of excellent service, but the hardware and design are absolutely next level. For business travelers or anyone looking for a relaxing weekend getaway, the experience here is truly flawless.
