Absolutely loved our stay at Shangri-La! From the moment you arrive, you can feel the high level of service and attention to detail. The hotel truly lives up to its reputation — everything was exceptional. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade, which made our stay even more special. The breakfasts were outstanding — a great variety, fresh products, and even pineapple, which we hadn’t seen in any other hotels during our 10 days across China. The view from the hotel is stunning, and the location is very convenient. There’s a mall right next door, and The Bund is within walking distance, which was perfect for exploring. No complaints at all — truly a luxurious and memorable stay. Highly recommend!

This room type is definitely not suitable for elderly guests or children. As shown in the pictures, the shower and toilet areas are open-plan, making the floor very slippery after a shower, and there's a high risk of falling when using the toilet.

The natural light is excellent, and the room is spacious. However, the minibar items are not complimentary.

The executive lounge, located on the entire 55th floor, was very crowded during the Chinese New Year, but the arrangements were orderly and well-managed. That said, I was quite disappointed with the food quality, both in the afternoon and evening.

Breakfast was decent.

The gym is a highlight, spanning 600 square meters with a wide array of professional equipment.

The location is also a major plus.

Service: I had a good dining experience at Xiangju Jiangnan Restaurant before, so I specifically chose to stay here for two nights during the Chinese New Year. First and foremost, the staff's service is commendable; they met all my many requests. In particular, the breakfast restaurant staff were diligent and responsible, with excellent and very enthusiastic service attitudes.

Environment: It's right next to Taikoo Li, which should be considered the central area of Qiantan. However, Qiantan itself is a peculiar place, giving off a vibe of limited development, with little foot traffic for miles around, completely different from the West Bund. The transportation is convenient, though, and the surrounding parks are good for walks, dog walking, and cycling, but there isn't much else to do.

Hygiene: The room was very clean, and the cleaning lady was polite. However, there was a long hair in the sealed bathrobe, so I didn't dare wear it.

Facilities: There was no pre-dial for the phone, and I didn't call the hotel, but I did leave a note on Trip.com requesting a quiet room away from the elevator. Due to a late check-in, I was assigned a room right next to the elevator, which was probably one of the last available. I initially thought I'd just put up with it, but after half an hour, I found it too noisy to bear, so I called to request a room change. I was quite annoyed, especially since I had noted my preference in advance; it felt like a 'compliance test' from the hotel, where they'd just brush it off if you didn't speak up. Fortunately, the hotel handled it well afterward; since there were no more rooms of the same type, they upgraded me directly to a junior suite. The room's view and facilities were excellent, and I was very satisfied with the stay.

Executive Lounge: The executive lounge was the most disappointing part of this stay. Everyone says that Shangri-La's lounges are high-standard, and many reviews for previous Shangri-La stays were positive, but my first experience here was a rude awakening. People often call Marriott lounges 'big canteens,' and I think this one is comparable to a bustling market. First, the environment: the privacy was worse than the previous Shangri-La; tables and chairs were crammed together, and the space wasn't large. On the second day of our stay, a child was constantly making noise and screaming, loudly reading English aloud from a computer for two to three hours. I'm not sure what the point of reading English aloud in such a public place is; perhaps the parents thought it was impressive to have their child speak a few English words? Feedback to the staff was fruitless, and we reminded them twice ourselves, but the child continued as before. Later, I felt the child might be on the autism spectrum, so I didn't pursue it further. However, the hotel bears undeniable responsibility for failing to provide a pleasant resting and dining environment for its guests. The lounge's food selection was also disappointing, with severely insufficient replenishment. During the Chinese New Year, there were many people, and a dish would be empty within minutes of being served, and then that was it—no replenishment whatsoever. The two chefs at the noodle station were always chatting, and when asked, they'd say they had nothing, which was astonishing. The food was only passable, far from as good as it's made out to be, and there were always too few staff, leading to queues of over fifteen minutes during peak hours.

Although the price of 2500 per night during the New Year wasn't expensive, this chaotic standard doesn't even justify that price. It's been open for a while, and I hope they can improve soon. After check-out, the guest relations department called, asking for a full five-star review, but I honestly couldn't give it. If only you had called before my stay, I would have. Of course, I personally might not choose the Shangri-La brand again in the future; dining is fine, but staying here was truly frightening.

Perfect location, top notch quality and friendly service. The hotel is literally integrated to the airport of SHA, which is also next to the metro line 2, so you can be in 20 mins in the city center. The breakfast has a lot of variety and all the rooms have great views towards the international airport. The room is amazing, has a divine decoration and everything is so clean and comfortable that the only things you would like to do in Shanghai is to enjoy this stay as much as possible. 110% recommended!

I'm a bit confused. Do I have to pay extra just to chat with the Concierge in the Club Lounge? I saw that arrogant manager circling my table during dinner, greeting everyone else but completely ignoring me. It's truly a real-life portrayal of 'Hello Mr. Billionaire' – art always originates from life, but life is even more spectacular. To be fair, the environment and location are decent. However, when I stayed at a regular chain hotel across the street, I left my luggage at the front desk, and the bellhop saw I had medication and immediately put it in the fridge for me – that truly touched me. Also, in this day and age, do hotels still require a deposit? They said it's in case a guest smokes in the room and gets fined. Seriously, at such an expensive hotel, are they so distrustful of their guests' character? The management is incredibly chaotic; asking a simple question takes forever to get a clear answer, everyone says something different, and they say one thing but do another.

From the moment I stepped out of the elevator, Zoe greeted me with such warmth and a radiant smile – it was truly refreshing. She handled my check-in efficiently and, without missing a beat, quickly contacted Housekeeping to prepare children's bath amenities and small bathrobes for the kids. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness were remarkable. To prevent the children from getting bored in the lounge, she even gave them educational toys, which genuinely touched us. Jin Shancheng's service was equally warm, polite, highly effective at problem-solving, and incredibly professional – truly impressive. During dinner, we met Liang Yajuan, who looked after the children impeccably. She tirelessly helped us with the kids throughout the meal. Fearing the children might disturb our dinner after they finished eating, she thoughtfully gave them craft assembly toys to keep them occupied, allowing us to enjoy our meal in peace. Her consistent, heartwarming care always made us feel so happy. Of course, I must also thank Liang Xiaomei and the entire Executive Lounge service team; your hard work made our weekend so relaxing, enjoyable, and warm. At check-out, a lady in a blue suit walked us all the way to the elevator and invited the children to visit again. It's a shame I was in such a hurry that I didn't get a chance to ask her name...

This was my second stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, I was assigned an end room, which was also a connecting room. Although the connecting door was locked from the inside, being the very last corner room meant a long walk from the elevator, especially with a child under 4. Entering the room felt a bit eerie; the entrance and bathroom lighting were dim, making the whole space feel gloomy. The hairdryer was old, and a bedside lamp was crooked, which I had to adjust myself. I'd suggest that five-star hotels use smart Dyson hairdryers. Breakfast the next day was disappointing with limited options, and we had to queue around 9:30 AM. There wasn't much variety, and the fruit selection was sparse. The fried noodles for the main course were hard, which was frankly not worth the price. When we went up to the assigned table via elevator, the noodle station seemed to be just going through the motions. There's a noticeable gap when compared to five-star hotels like The Kapok in Chengdu.

The front desk and lounge staff were all excellent. The room design was neat, simple, clean, and bright, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The location was great, directly facing the Yongding River, so on a nice day, you could enjoy views of the river and mountains. It's also close to the Sky Corridor and Shijingshan, which allowed me to visit all the important attractions around Shougang Park, so I extended my stay by another night. The lobby was exquisitely designed with plenty of greenery, and when it wasn't crowded, sitting there with a coffee, listening to the occasional bird calls, was very relaxing. 
Unfortunately, the breakfast and lounge food were very average; I wouldn't recommend ordering meals there.

Hotel location is perfect,  walking distance from Luohu shenzhen train station.  30m room size is just the right size. Even though the room is not remodeled but everything is still in good quality and good condition. The bed is comfortable with down pillows and down blanket, which can make you sleep better for sure. Hotel breakfast is grand and abundant with everything you can imagine. Front desk staff Bill Chen is very helpful and patient in answering questions.  Hotel lobby is grand with beautiful flowers setting in the middle of the hall. Lobby bar is also very nice. Overall good experience and will come again.

Pros: Great location, with good views from the higher floors. There's a nice terrace on the fourth floor perfect for watching the light show at night. The rooms have large windows offering great views, and parking is quite convenient.
Cons: The facilities are outdated. There isn't even an outlet next to the bed. The air conditioning hums loudly and constantly. When I requested an extra comforter from room service, they refused and told me to just use a blanket? The breakfast was absolutely dreadful, I can't even begin to describe it.
Overall, this hotel seems to be resting on its laurels, not bothering to improve because its prime location guarantees guests. They've clearly cornered the business traveler market.

I have to give a huge shout-out to the front desk at Shangri-La Nanshan! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was warmly welcomed. The staff were incredibly patient and attentive throughout, with no hint of perfunctoriness. The check-in process was clear and efficient, and they proactively helped me choose a room with a great view. Any last-minute requests were handled immediately, whether it was luggage storage, directions, or coordinating other needs – everything was dealt with quickly and excellently. The front desk staff member, Vivian, was professional and friendly, providing prompt and meticulous service that made me feel completely at ease and comfortable throughout my stay. This truly reflects Shangri-La's high standard of quality service.

The guest room was spacious and bright, with a well-thought-out layout and refined, minimalist decor. It was spotlessly clean, and the bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring an excellent night's sleep. The toiletries were of high quality, the bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area, and all facilities were complete and well-maintained, showing attention to detail. The room offered expansive views and ample natural light, making it exceptionally pleasant for relaxation.

The public areas were clean and tidy, with well-maintained facilities. The staff across the board – from lobby service to housekeeping and security – showed an outstanding service mindset, being friendly, professional, and highly responsible. The entire check-in and stay process was smooth and worry-free. The ambiance, comfort, and service were all impeccable, and the value for money was exceptional. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times already – I highly recommend it to everyone!
