Excellent hotel with great location, everything was perfect. Staff was nice. The room with balcony overlooking the town is beautiful and well-functioned. The rooftop onsen is comfortable. Breakfast is plentiful. We love our stay very much.

kay_fightExcellent! The location is fantastic, right on Ookaido Street, meaning you can shop comfortably protected from both sun and rain. The onsen (hot spring bath) on the upper floor was exceptionally clean and delightful. They also offer free laundry washing, with drying available for 100 yen. Step right outside, and you'll find the tram station and a bustling food street. Virtually all of Matsuyama's highly recommended restaurants are within easy walking distance. Cannot recommend enough!

I was very impressed with this hotel as I had read some reviews that mentioned it is a little older than the average property but it was sparkling clean with lovely facilities and guest rooms. The location is perfect for visiting the three famous onsen hot springs facilities and the hotel actually provide special clothing to make visiting the onsens easier and more authentic. Parking is available for a fee and there is a small restaurant/bar onsite. This is a ripper of a hotel.

It was great being right in front of the Okaido shopping arcade, and it was easy to get there by taxi from the airport. I also liked the large bathtub. I plan to book this place again next time I go to Matsuyama.

Guest UserGood location. The hotel locates near Matsuyama City Tram Station where is also the terminal station of airport bus. Matsuyama port is just 20 minutes train ride away. One may walk up to the Matsuyama Castle from the hotel within 40 minutes. The castle tram station and the Okaido shopping area are also within walking distance.
Staff were friendly with satisfactory services and amenities.
However it was always crowded at breakfast time.
Be reminded it's Matsuyama City Station but not the JR Matsuyama Station (JR).

Guest UserHotel has some distance from the main Dogo mall but it has shuttle bus running every 10 mins from 3-10. Hotel itself is very clean and most of the staff were so friendly and carried traditional Japanese good manner.
My room is Japanese style and I love it. The breakfast was ok but the dinner was abundant, delicious and presented nicely. The staff named Itsuki Deguchi who took care my check in and dining service did a good job worthy to receive compliments.
Onsen was clean and very nice.
Will stay again next time

Anonymous UserStayed at HOTEL MYSTAYS Matsuyama as a solo traveler and had a very pleasant experience. The location is convenient, with easy access to JR Matsuyama Station, trams, and major attractions like Matsuyama Castle and Dogo Onsen. My room was larger than I expected for Japan, clean, and comfortable.
The staff were helpful and check-in was smooth. The hotel has useful amenities such as Wi-Fi and self-service laundry, which are great for solo travelers. Breakfast was very good, with a good variety of Japanese and Western options.
Overall, it's a good-value hotel and an excellent base for exploring Matsuyama. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who visit the city.

Anonymous UserThe hotel is not close to Dogo Onsen street and you will need to drive or get a taxi if you want to go there. There are no restaurants or shops nearby the hotel. There is a walk nearby the hotel you can take which offers nice scenery in the woods. The hotel looks a bit dated particularly the bedrooms and the corridors. I asked for a quiet room facing the mountain instead of one facing a busy road and had to pay an additional 2200 yen. The hotel has a number of onsens and I like the outdoor ones best. The buffet dinner and breakfast offer good selection and I particularly like the dinner which offered nice teppanyaki beef and sushi.
The hotel reception staff spoke very little English and the hotel did not reply to an email I sent them asking for transportation information to get to the hotel.
There are buses near the hotel which go to Matsuyama and Imabari but they run infrequently.

Location is great! Less than 5 minutes walk to Matsuyama JR station. There was no staff at the counter in the morning. Although you can contact them with phone call, it's inconvenience for foreigners. I arrived in the morning and needed luggage check-in. Ended up leaving my luggage by myself in the corner of the lobby where several other luggages were left. Good thing there is 24hr video surveillance pointing at the luggage area and one can chain-lock the luggage to the rail shelf. Suggest to bring a chain-lock if you need to leave luggage there.
Check-in was easy and staff was friendly. Room is accessed via physical key, not RFID card like commonly seen today in hotels.
I booked single room. There is no tea kettle, tea bags, coffee, or drinking water inside the room. All those ammenities are at the lobby. Hot/cold water is only available from a portable water dispenser. I was really surprised that it is not allowed to refill the water with your own bottle (or any resuable bottle). The staff told me it is for hygenie concerns. One can only use the provided tiny paper cup (50~70ml in volume) to get water or make coffee/tea. And it is not allowed to eat/drink in the lobby area. So you have to hold the tiny cup and go back to your room to consume it. Very inconvenient to me.
They offer 2 kinds of set menu for breakfast: chicken congee and sea bream rice soup (Tai-chazuke). I had the later and it was delicious.
Overall, the stay met my expectations with price I paid except for the inconvenience in getting hot water for making tea or coffee myself. If I ever travel to Matsuyama bymyself again, I'll definitely consider staying in this place again. But I won't recommend it for couple or family stay though.

Guest UserOutstanding location, easy walking distance to the JR train station, so your access out for island day trips like Kashima or Gogoshima is easily sorted. Of course it's also close to Matsuyama Castle, the nearby park, and to other public transport.
The hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly. No native English speakers, but they were good enough at communication that check in and check out were completely without issue.
The bath robes in the room were a nice touch.
