On a value for money basis, which is how I review, this was poor. We paid 240 Euros per room b&b. The rooms were small, however they were as per other reviews very clean. Fresh towels every day. Heating did not come on till 6pm which is too late. We had to asked for water for the room as we thought, the maid service was forgetting to put it into the fridge. When we came to check out we had been charged for it! At 240 Euros per room, one very cheap bottle of water per person per day is an absolute basic. The room decor was twee as has been reported, and despite cleanliness it was getting a little worse for wear. What appeared to be bleach stains on the carpet outside the bathroom for instance. Space for clothing was adequate, and also the lighting was decent. Breakfast was very poor. Nothing was self service, which I assumed was an Italian government restriction till we stayed at our airport hotel on return. Staffing was inadequate, all coffee had to be ordered and if having a cafe latte as we do, it was tepid. Milk it would appear was not heated. There was no change at all in the daily offering. Either brown or white pre cut baguette type bread. Peaches and prunes both tinned. A choice of yogurt tubs. What in my opinion was ok reconstituted scrambled egg, but really awful streaky bacon type meat, that was warmed though, with very little cooking. Around 3 cereals choices. Sliced cheese, sliced ham and a decent cheese you had to ask to be cut. This is the daft thing, the staff then put their hands directly on the cheese to hold it whilst cutting! So much for covid and other hygiene issues. We needless to say cut off the outside edges and disposed. Also a selection of packet preserves. If we were paying 150 euros per night it would have been ok, just but it was 240 euros. Also the ski boot room came out of the service entry. You had to claw around beer barrels, and deliveries and equipment of all sorts. Also andy setting for 5 in the boot room. The staff were friendly, the bar was decent with good drinks, but this could not hide the fact that for 240 euros per night it was well overpriced. I need to point out that we booked this last minute after Crystal totally destroyed our planned holiday in the adjacent Europa hotel, by saying we were going to Sauze d’ Oulx. ( That’s another story) So we were happy to get in a very busy Cervinia at short notice, but would have hoped for better accommodation for the money.
