We made a reservation here off the strength of the hotel's Lonely Planet write-up, and wow are we glad that we did. We have a family of four, with two young children, and the three-room apartment was perfect for our needs -- and at a very affordable price. The views from the room were truly spectacular -- you can't get much closer to the lake unless you're swimming in it. Maria (the manager) was so helpful throughout our stay and our girls already miss her. Breakfast was also wonderful. We're also really glad we stayed in the small town of Brunnen versus the more urban environment of Luzern. We definitely hope to be back sometime soon!

We are on day 5 of our six night stay and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We booked a family apartment in the older hotel Schmid and we are very happy with the accommodation. We have two bedrooms (a double & a twin) with plenty of wardrobe space, a living/dining room with balcony, bathroom with bath & shower over and kitchen (which is an additional cost). The staff were very friendly and helpful, providing my coeliac daughter with gluten free cereal and rolls at breakfast. The breakfasts carried a good selection of breads, pastries and cakes, fruit juices, eggs, meats and cheeses, yogurts, fruit, cereals, hot & cold drinks. The hotel has no air conditioning, but we found that our rooms remained quite cool, even though the temperatures were in the 30’s outside and we had fans in the rooms. As there are restaurants around the hotel, it can be quite noisy in the early evenings, but the windows are well sound proofed & cut out nearly all noise once closed. The hotel is well situated for the boat (on the other side of the road) buses & trains (5-10 mins walk), shops and restaurants. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in Brunnen.

We stayed just one night. Rooms OK, nice lake view, OK breakfast - owner or boss seems too controling and not easy going. Parking is a few minutes walk. Overall will do for a quick overnight but not recomemnded for longer stays.

4 Tage wollten wir als ersten Kurzurlaub, mit unserer 1,5 Jährigen Tochter, am Vierwaldstättersee verbringen. Beim Frühstück war noch eine andere Familie am Tisch neben uns. Unsere Tochter ist paar mal hin und her, zum anderen Kind. Da meinte die Dame am Buffet, es sei hier kein Spielplatz. Des weiteren gab es wegen dem 1. August, eine Freinacht mit Festwirtschaft vor dem Hotel. Wir wussten dies nicht, und da es warm war und wir das Zimmer zur Strasse hatten, haben wir uns entschieden mit unserer Tochter eine Nacht früher abzureisen. Damit sie in der Nacht schlafen kann.. Das Hotel ist uns Preislich nicht entgegen gekommen und die Dame an der Rezeption sagte noch, das wir am nächsten Tag bis 11 Uhr Chekout haben.. Dies obwohl wir ja den Tag und die Nacht noch voll bezahlen mussten, schon etwas frech. Das Hotel ist schön gelegen und für Paare oder Velofahrer sicher Tip top. Als Familie würde ich es nicht mehr besuchen und auch nicht empfehlen.

Wir hatten zwar nur eine Nacht buchen können, diese war aber umso schöner. Die Lage, die sauberen Zimmer, die Aussicht aus dem Fenster, das freundliche Personal und das leckere Frühstück. Alles top!! Sehr lustig war auch die nette Dame mit kroatischen Wurzeln.. ;-)

Wir waren zum 2 X im Hotel Schmid zu Gast. Zimmer mit Balkon und Bad sehr sauber, Betten bequem, Balkon ideal - wir haben das 1. Augustfeuerwerk aus nächster Nähe miterlebt - es war fantastisch, ebenso die Rundfahrt der beleuchteten Dampfschiffe auf dem Urnersee war sehr eindrücklich. Das Personal war wiederum sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr hilfsbereit!!! Die Parkgebühr für das Auto auf dem Parkplatz ist bescheiden Fr. 25.- pro Woche.

Top Lage mit wunderschöner Aussicht, sehr nettes zuvorkommendes Team, angenehme Zimmer - rundum ein schönes Hotel für einen tollen Aufenthalt! Ein Drink auf dem eigenen Balkon ist einfach wunderbar. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder :-)

Das Hotel liegt direkt am See und trotzdem eigentlich mitten im Zentrum. Es ist Umgebung von mehreren ansprechenden Lokalen. Das Hotelpersonal war wirklich sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Dadurch das ich direkt beim Hotel angerufen habe konnte mir die Rezeptionistin das perfekte Zimmer anbieten. Das Frühstückbuffet ist nach nachfragen schon ab 6:30 Uhr geöffnet, und ist sehr umfangreich. Ich komme ganz sicher wieder wenn ich in der Umgebung zu tun habe.
