Although the hotel was very quiet during our stay the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The chef was happy to cook special requests during our stay making us feel very special. We happened to be at the resort when the monthly fish fry was held on the beach in the evening with a wonderful bonfire and music. Cocktails at the beach or pool were excellent and non stop. Special thanks goes to the staff and management for making our stay most enjoyable.

This really wasn’t worth the money. We paid $952 TT dollars for a day pass for 2 adults and had our kids with us. The place was a ghost town and that should have been our first warning. The pool was not cleaned and when we asked if they did any pool or bar snacks we were told that they didn’t. Lunch was from 12pm… we were told on booking it would be a proper meal but when we went to the beach restaurant (as the one in the hotel was not open) it was a very small and basic menu. Frozen food dropped in a fryer: fried chicken pieces and wedges or pasta salad. It took them an hour to bring the food and only moved to bring it when I complained. Another group nearby said it was quicker for them to walk across the beach, order food there and walk back which suggests they have a reputation for being super slow. The bar staff were very friendly and should be commended, but the offering from the resort was nowhere near worth the money they charge. They did try to make it up to us but it was too little too late. We went to wash up and the shower heads were missing from the showers. We managed to negotiate a 50% refund and when it came time to collect it, the receptionist had a bad attitude and gave us the money in mostly $5 bills. I will never return or recommend this place to anyone. Poor service, poor facilities, poor offering and overpriced.

We stayed at Mt Irvine Hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the moment we arrived until when we left, the staff at the Hotel were warm, friendly, professional and helpful. They ensured that we were comfortable and that our needs and wants were satisfied. The Sugar Mill's breakfast buffet was satisfying and the staff were kind. The pool and the pool bar are amazing. The grounds are well kept and peaceful. The beach and bar are convenient and there was always available beach chairs and umbrellas awaiting us. Special thank you to Mark and the gym facilities, and the crew at the Front Desk/Reception... you all were professional yet warm at all times.

Great resort, beautiful views, nice amenities. Private beach was amazing and I loved the food as well! The highlight was the warm, friendly, and very attentive staff... I'm trying to figure out when I'm going to take my next trip here with my family. Highly Recommend!

Stayed here as a participant during a conference/symposium. The facilities were excellent for this, and the staff were very efficient and organising the meals and looking after all our needs. The very nice pool and close beach, a great bonus! The tasting meal at the new beach-side restaurant was a particular highlight.

A very nice resort. The staff were very courteous and accomodating and the food was delicious. The beach had easy access and it is one of the best beaches on the island. I would recommend for a vacation or even a conference. Try the paddle boarding on the beach ... lovely coral.

I was the local organiser for an international symposium we hosted at Mt Irvine Bay hotel. With about 40 very elite participants coming from all over the world, this was a major undertaking. I absolutely have to give the staff under the manager Mr Lorde and admin Charmaine Peters total kudos at facilitating us at every turn even the last minute changes at our request! The planning they offered us and the meals preparations were just fabulous and delicious. They hosted us for a beach dinner with a local seven course tasting menu. This was an absolute delight. As key organiser, I was privy to everyone's needs and everyone was very complimentary about all the services. They arranged pick up and drop to airport for participants and tours as requested. The beach bar is a bit of walk on the property and they offered pick up/drop off by car for anyone preferring that. Their conference facilities in the Jacaranda room were top class. Everything ran efficiently and they provided all the media tech support. Our international team enjoyed the expansive natural surrounding and the immersive history experience. The hotel has a very 70s vibe in architecture which personally appealed to me. Every one of the waiters and waitresses were very helpful and pleasant (sorry I don't remember all the names). Some were fluent in Spanish with our Spanish participants. We had elderly participants and special needs participants as well - all were given the special attention required to keep them comfortable and to make this symposium a roaring success for us. I highly recommend this for any group that wishes to consider a retreat or conference. This is the ideal island facility for reflection surrounded by nature and the sea, away from the tourist hustle and bustle with extremely pleasant and helpful staff.

Things started badly: our car booked via the hotel was a no-show and we were left stranded as they closed the airport after our flight. Our taxi driver warned us it was a dead hotel, but it was shut when we got there. Just a guard who knew nothing, but all lights off and noone at reception. Forget the welcome drink on the website! Eventually, as we were about to get the taxi to another hotel someone did turn up. As I had no local currency, I asked if he could pay the driver and charge my card or on my room. The reply was "we have no money, ask him to come back tomorrow." Fears raised about hotel staying open for our stay! We took our own luggage to our room, but there was no bar or restaurant open for us after a long flight. Next day, we were told the restaurant would close to orders after 21:00 each night and the bar would be open from 18:00 - 22:00. The bar was only open on the managers welcome 2 hour drinks and a couple of other nights. We could only get drinks from the restaurant! Our greeting for our fist dinner (bearing in mind we were on an ALLINCLUSIVE package) was Fish or chicken? There were only 2 other tables with customers. I requested a menu to choose from and got "We are not doing menus", so I requested a starter and got "We are not doing starters!" The beach bar on the beautiful beach had a lovely new decking area, but the staff started removing all loungers, umbrellas and seats on the decking at 17:00 saying "we are going home!". Sunset was 18:00. We were ejected before sunset each evening apart from 1 evening during our stay. We have always had sundowners watching the beautiful sunsets at our previous stays across many of the islands. The staff were doing their best: it is just there was no supervision or management in evidence and I absolutely excuse the staff from any criticism as most maintained a cheerful manner despite the lack of customers. I asked at reception on the day after arrival for £50 of Trinidad $ to for tips to staff etc and was told "no problem" by a lady; but when I went to get the money, promised next day, I was told they did not carry money so could not give me a single TT$. The restaurant did have a small menu, most of which was not available (Lobster was £50 extra if ordered a day in advance) and they ran out of white wine, beer and cocacola at different times. We ordered a rental car via reception for 2 days. The evening before the first day, I went to reception to insist it would be there at 09:00 sharp, after the noshow at the airport and was told "no problem". The next morning, we waited from 09:00 for an hour and suffered a 2nd consecutive noshow. The golf course has been shut since covid, so it is not open. The large pool was full of leaves, and had a cup in it for several days. This could be a fantastic hotel if it was well run, all facilities were open , and a full normal all-inclusive package was available morning until late at night. We never could get a drink after 22:00 as the single bar was hard
