Hotels with Bars in Bucharest

When i got there, I was told I was too early (fair enough, check-in is from 2 pm and i got there around 11.30) I had sort of anticipated this, so thought i would just kill some time at the skybar which supposedly has a great view - but much to my surprise, I was told the skybar was closed, only open for breakfast. Must be the biggest attraction of the hotel, and in their wisdom, they close it! So instead, I took a walk heading towards the parliament building which is preety close by. When i returned a while later, room was now ready but oh by the way, the lift doesnt work! So i now had to carry luggage up the fire exit staircase (room was on 4th floor). Very narrow and poorly lit, so if you have trouble walking - good luck. Just hope you dont meet somebody coming down - passing them will be a challenge :-) Reception said lift would be fixed in a day or two!! So i made it to the room and cannot really decide what to think of it. On the one hand, it was spotlessly clean and looked very new and modern but on the other hand: No coffee / tea, There was a minibar with some wine and soft drinks but no beer,No glasses to be found anywhere (so I guess, just drink the wine from the bottle),WiFi works but not very stable - keeps dropping out. At breakfast, the skybar was now open - 2 people in front of me for the coffee machine which was quite slow - turned out they were not guests - but the breakfast room staff!. When they finally had their coffee they went straigth out onto the open terrasse for a cigarette (very small outdoor terrase and the staff now occupied 1/3 of it) and started chatting quite loudly - so terrasse is just as much for the staff - not the guests only. And really - if staff of any kind of establishment wants to have a loud discussion, do so away from the guests!! Breakfast was very poor - quite frankly pathetic! - some dry toast bread, a little bit of cheese and some slices of what looked like ham/salami - nothing warm like e.g. eggs (of course the staff were busy out on the terrasse smoking and having a loud conversation). Definately not worth any money at all - instead head out for one of the many cafes very close by. The lobby has what looks like a bar, but all they sell is coffee. Big surprise to me when late afternoon after a long walk i came back, asked for a cold beer and was told they didnt have any!! You can have some wine from the minibar, but you cant have a beer anywhere. The day of departure i waited a little in the lobby for my taxi to the airport. Need to use a bathroom?? Too bad - just like the lift, out of order. This would be fixed ”in a day or 2” so clearly not a priority for this place. Wifi, although it did work in the room - no luck in the lobby - could not connect at all. The guy in the lobby was nice enough but most of the time you will find him outside, having a smoke. All in all, extremely dissapointed with this place. Wish i had gone back to Hello Hotel instead - breakfast much much better, you can

The food is delicious fresh fruits and vegetables the location is excellent in the city center. The staff is very friendly. The airport is 20 minutes away by taxi. I was very satisfied

Marriott upper-scale properties, such as their Autograph Collection &/or Tribute Portfolio brands, continue to miss the mark. Weak management seems to plague many of these properties & consistent delivery of Marriott's Bonvoy Program only exists in the minds of HQ Executives. The experience of Bonvoy Members is something quite different in reality, since members NEVER know what to expect until they check in. Just finished 12 nights in 6 different European Marriott brands in 3 countries & only 1 even bothered to acknowledge our lifetime elite membership status. Otherwise, we received the same treatment as a guest staying at a Marriott property for the 1st time. The Marmorosch is indeed a beautiful property -- or at least the exterior & lobby area are. The rooms themselves are more more like Fairfield Inn properties in the US. Basic to the extreme & poor housekeeping was evident throughout the property. Trash that littered the floor on arrival was still there 3 days later, as were the blood droplets on the bathroom floor, & one has to question what type of housekeeping would leave a bed in the condition of the one in the attached photos? Only 1 side of the huge hand-pull drapes worked & could be opened, so we called to ask that someone be sent to fix the other side. A pleasant gentleman promptly appeared to tell us that they could not fix the drapes because a separate company had to be scheduled to do the repair. We subsequently learned from an honest employee that the non-functioning drapes issue has plagued the property since opening & is well known to owner/management. The property was previously a bank so there is a bar in the lower level Vault area, which one would incorrectly assume to be a beautiful & sophisticated location for cocktails. Unfortunately, as you descend the stairs to the lower level the loud & pulsating disco music immediately lets you know that your expectations are incorrect. We looked in the door & decided to not even bother entering & returned to the beautiful Lobby for drinks, but left after 15 minutes when no one arrived at the bar to offer service, & others who were waiting when we arrived were still unserved when we departed. Breakfast was a manic mess since the room where it is served is not capable of meeting guest needs if the hotel is more than 75% occupied. Many of the food items that should be hot are cold & unappetizing. Never saw a breakfast menu on a table in the first 2 days of our stay, & only after asking about cooked-to-order items that were being served around us on the 3rd day, were we given a menu with several options that are, in fact, available for breakfast. Check-in was the biggest fiasco we have ever encountered at ANY Marriott property. A full 50 minutes to check-in with only 2 employees manning the 4-5 positions & the Bonvoy Member sign on the front desk was completely meaningless. Hotel location is wonderful - middle of the old city. Rooms are spacious enough but some of them are located over a street with a night club and are very noisy all night (especially lower floors) - this has to be mentioned at check in to relevant customers. Staff is very friendly and helpful - especially at reception. Rooms cleaning needs some improvement as some negligence showed and called for our intervention. Breakfast is great, large choice and comfortable dining room including outdoor seating Fitness center is quite small and at basement - could have been located on an upper floor facing the old city - would be wonderful

Its not a bad hotel this, the decor is retro circa 1960/70's but the matching furniture does not make for a comfortable seat. However, the room was spotless, comfortable well provided for and well equipped, There are extensive facilities within the hotel. The problem was that we were there on a package tour for one night and the food provided as part of our deal was pretty awful. I say this because the restaurant looked good as did the menu but our meal would have been determined by the travel company as would the budget for it. Unfair to judge therefore.

Hotel : On arrival the hotel looks impressive. Although the area leaves a lot to be desired. Very narrow side street with limited parking facilities for our rental. The Epoque is not up to the standard of European Relais & Châteaux. Rooms / suite was very basic and overlooking very dilapidated buildings. There was quite a whiff from the bathroom and it was very difficult to access toilet! Facilities: Very limited and we were not advised at check in about location of gym. Wifi was reasonable.. there were some drop outs during our stay. TV’s are average and no Netflix or alternative streaming services Limited charging for mobile devices Small lobby area and that’s it apart from the terrace and a dining area The bedroom linen has seen better days and there were holes in the bathrobes! This was very disappointing and we should not have experienced this in a 4/5 star hotel. Food: Breakfast was good but pricey Dinner very pricey and some options over priced given the size of portions! Drinks outrageously expensive for mediocre plonk. Given that Romania has some great wines they certainly are not available here. Staff: friendly… that said there was a complete mess up with the bill on check out. It was not resolved to my satisfaction, I was informed it would be corrected when the bank charges were checked! So advice would be to try to pay cash as much as possible! Will visit Romania again. However Epoque not on our list and for the reasons noted above will not return.

The hotel is situated a few metres from the Gara de Nord railways station and underground station, so it is very easy to reach. The check-in procedure was fast, room clean with a large bed, toilet, shower, TV set, hairdryer etc. The door is card-operated, mine unfortunately didn´t work properly, so I had to go to the reception desk twice but the girl was really helpful. Breakfast is served in the adjacent building from 7 .00 to 10.30, quite a good range of things to choose from. Wi-fi connection strong and stable. Next time in Bucharest I will definitely try to get a room here again.

The hotel left a good impression. True, the window looked into the courtyard of the hotel and people were moving outside the window, maybe this is the ”room with a view” ??? The food in the restaurant is very tasty and there is enough of it on the ”buffet”, if not very enough and it is for every taste :). I didn’t use the mini bar, and I didn’t quite understand why I was asked to pay two lei with a penny, maybe for soap and shampoo ???

Second time here. Great location. Clean. New. The lift is seriously problematic there’s no way you can choose if you are going up or down - you end up spending time with whoever is inside. (Cleaning staff, customers etc). They have a phone in the room that doesn’t work at all so you have to use your mobile phone to get some amenities or whatever you need. (Seriously!) Great restaurants and food. Restaurant staff super friendly both dinner and breakfast. Reception staff kind and courteous. Can you please extend the room service menu? 9.30 pm isn’t great at all. Please make sure the rooms have a good smell when you switch on the AC. Thanks !

Hotel location is great. Staff is very helpful. Room condition is great. Just the pillows are not very comfortable. Overall a good stay
