The hotel is located further down in the hotel zone, so the waves at the beach can be quite strong, making swimming difficult (there are also reefs). We paid an extra $80 per day to upgrade to an ocean view. The service was decent, but Marriott's food quality isn't what it used to be – very salty, though there are plenty of restaurant options and room service is available. I actually found the room service breakfast better than the buffet. The only downsides were the slightly outdated decor and the strong smell of seaweed.
