"I recently stayed at the Golden Hotel in Christchurch and had a mixed experience.
The location is convenient, with easy access to local attractions.
However, I found that it is more like a motel than hotel because our room is situated on ground floor that opens directly to the parking area.
And the most unpleasant part of the experience is - after the stay, we found out we got double charged by the hotel mistakenly, but the staff handled the credit card refund very quickly after we reported the issue, but we still suffered a loss due to exchange rate variation."
"I booked 3 bedrooms apartment with 3 queen beds and 1 sofa bed. The room is good. The only negative feedback is about the extra charge $30 each for children over 2 years old per night, as many hotels don’t charge children under 11 if they use existing beds. And more importantly, those hotels provide the info on Trip. I was surprised when I was told about the extra charge $180 for 3 children for 2 nights, eventually negotiated down to $90. I would suggest the hotel put children policy on Trip so that people is aware of extra $30 per child (over 2 years old) when they make the booking instead of checking in."
"Staff were friendly and helpful, got a free drink from the cafe with the booking, only downside is no free parking, but we just stayed one night so just paid on the street and left before getting a ticket."

"Clean and tidy room despite some distance from the city centre...but it was definitely easy with a car. Loved the milk they provided during check in too!"
"This is my 3rd stay in a few months . Each time, consistent check in process . Cordial and efficient on late night flight arrival into CHC. The team overall is super friendly. This time I was allocated a newer business room on 4th floor. These are amazing ! Large, modern sis opus bathrooms, plenty of wardrobe space, balcony, full size desk. I wished I stayed longer to enjoy for longer. The property is busy yet very quiet. So easy to sleep and get truly good rest. My favourite hotel near the airport. I tried two others which are also good but so noisy outside the room, which does not work well for me when arriving late in the night."
"A garden, two rows of rooms, very comfortable layout, the bus stop is at the door, you can walk to the supermarket in 5 minutes, cook and eat snacks yourself, don't mention more comfortable. The most joyful thing is that there is a bathtub, and finally get a good relaxation at the end of the trip. 👍 Finally, I would like to thank the enthusiastic housekeeper lady 💐"
"Has been greeted with a warm welcome upon arrival. The receptionist even showed our room till the doorstep. Also given some chocolates upon entering the room.
Pros: A very big room, double glazed glass, the bathroom is even disabled friendly. An afequate continental breakfast is served to the room (in the evening).
A nice clean small kitchen with a toaster, microwave, small fridge and a cooking stove (although we dont use them) is available.
Room is clean, with a huge tv set. Sifa set, dinner table and working table.
Restaurants are just round the corner.
Really recommend this place."
"Good location, in the city center, next to the park. The boss is a pair of Chinese, and the Chinese communication is smooth. At the time of check-in, the door is closed, there is a prompt at the door, someone picks up the phone and someone opens the door. The parking is convenient, and the breakfast is paid separately. It seems to be the standard of 10 yuan and 15 yuan."

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel was very accommodating before even arriving for my stay and agreed to a booking change due to a flight cancellation. The staff were helpful and friendly and the property itself is well maintained and the rooms clean and well appointed. I would stay here again.
DDragan S**Comfortable Stay with Great Service**
I had a pleasant stay at **Rosewood Court Motel**. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with all the essentials, including a comfortable bed and a small kitchenette. The Wi-Fi was reliable, and the parking was convenient.
The staff was friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with any requests. The location was also great—close to shops, restaurants, and easy access to the city.
Overall, it’s a good choice for a comfortable and hassle-free stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.
AAnonymous UserA beautiful hotel with tropical / botanical gardens. Has everything you need, nice big park next to it. City center is not far; You can walk (20min) to it or 6-7 min by car. Enough parking places as well. Customer service can be improved overall.
FFanieA lovely motel within a short driving distance to the city centre. There is a small shop (at petrol station) across the road, with restaurants and a range of shops within walking distance. The staff were exceptionally friendly! The actual room was brilliant. Clean sheets and towels every day, with a very nice bathroom and hot water throughout the day. Highly recommended!
GGuest UserWe booked a family room and it was split into two floors where the top level had the big bed and the lower level had the twin beds, which worked well for elderly travelers. The interior was stylish and clean. Kitchen was well equipped with a dishwasher and a range hood. Wish they could've provided ice. The only big downside was the parking situation where despite having a big carpark, they charge NZ$20+ extra for overnight parking.
GGuest UserThe motel is owned by a Chinese owner. The rooms are fully equipped with cooking facilities. The rooms are clean and the showers are large. The soundproofing is very good and the accommodation is very comfortable. The location is also very convenient, right next to the Botanical Garden and only 3 minutes' drive from the main shopping district. Recommended!
GGuest UserThe reception was good! We didn’t use it but they had affiliated parking lot and the price was good. The room
Has very heavy door but clean and tidy.
圣圣代千层雪This is a Chinese-owned motel located in the heart of Riccarton, next to the Chinese supermarket, about 4-5 kilometers from the center of Christchurch. We live in a two-bedroom apartment. The facilities and equipment are a bit dated, but they are still in normal use. The upper and lower floors of the room, each with a bedroom and bathroom, can be used for cooking, which is suitable for a family. The price is relatively satisfactory. Suitable for self-driving friends.
GGuest UserWe stayed in a double-bed room with private bathroom. The room was small but clean and functional. Bathroom was also clean with usual amenities (shampoo, body wash, handwash, hair dryer). There is a Woolworth 2 mins' walk away and airport is reachable on foot in about 10-15mins. The communal kitchen and lounge area was the highlight -- it's very spacious and the kitchen was super well stocked (lots of hotplates, microwave, oven, pots and pans, plates and bowls, cutlery, tea towel, seasoning, oil and lots of free food/condiments). We used the kitchen at about 5pm and it was fairly clean, but when we returned for breakfast at about 5am next morning it was a little messy from inconsiderate users who didn't clean up after themselves.
Only downside is that the soundproofing is quite poor, but considering its price and proximity to airport, it was something I can live with.
CcallmebycharGreat cozy room. Spacious ensuite. Love the body length mirrors. Just wish I had a window I could open rather than a sliding door that looks out to the street! and the Cleaners should come a little later in the day for those who like a sleep in.
